This hotel has not been modernised into 2013 standards but uses this as something to be proud of. That would be fine if prices were still unmodernised. For somewhere that offers very few facilities, the prices are high.
The hotel is actually very near something akin to a youth hostel full of Italian youths who populate the very small beach next to the hotel (the only place to swim nearby). They are there from very early in the morning to late at night - there are also lots of people camping in the trees above the beach with seemingly no 'facilities' so you sometimes have to watch where you tread - this was a case in a couple of places in Agistri.
The rooms do have lovely views of Aegina but apart from the bar/restaurant area there are no public areas to disappear to and read a book or have a quick dip. The bar opens in the evening but it is sometimes nice to order a beer and sit during the day without having to leave where you are staying.
As mentioned in other reviews, the shower/toilet arrangement is very odd and all a bit drippy and claustrophobic. Air con adequate. Small fridge very noisy. No tea or coffee making facilities.
Staff were lovely.
I know it is very middle class to think somewhere like this is Bohemian and wonderful because of its lack of all of the above and that is obviously why the reviews are so gushing but I personally think it is too lacking for the price.
