“"Nothing too much trouble"”
Reviewed 3 June 2012

We have just spent 8 great nights at Rosy's. Nothing is too much trouble to please guests at this wonderful Saronic Gulf location. The location is superb if you want peace, quiet, like-minded fellow guests, and exceptional views and direct swimming access to the clear blue waters of the Saronic Gulf. The (18) rooms are basic ("2 star") but comfortable, each having some view of the sea and a small balcony. The relaxed, good value restaurant service is available all day and there is a daily menu of local specials for dinner along with a good choice of nice grills and salads. The hotel faces due east so has the sun from dawn until about 4-5pm with plenty of loungers and umbrella cover for sun bathing and swimming. The small sand and shingle beach shelves fairly rapidly but will suit most swimmers. Boats trips available directly from the small beach on the owner's speed boat. These are a 'must' with a 40 minute round island trip shared by up to 5, with swimming, for 40 Euro. Other water sport options available if you ask. Rosy, along with her husband and son and band of ever-willing super friendly staff will ensure you are welcome, receive great service, and feel special. Transfers to the ferries are always available and it is only a 6 minute walk to the small port of Skala to take the Aegina Express to the larger sister island for more extensive shopping and exploring than available on Agistri. There are plenty of excellent eat-out options a short and pleasant walk away if you feel like some variety, but it is hard to drag yourself away from this glorious location. Consider moped hire to get to the west side of the island for a day trip, as the walk over the top through the pine forest takes about 2.5 hours and is challenging in hot sun. Beach access is down a steep (but very short) path. Not an ideal location for children or the physically disabled. Usefully there is excellent WiFi access on the terrace and more intermittent WiFi at the beach loungers and rooms. There was a nice variety of other guests - solo, couples, and small groups.

Just returned from a few days at Rosie's and had to write immediately to let everyone know what a gem it is. Rosie and her family immediately made us feel like an extension to their family from being picked up at the port, to welcome drinks and attention to any requirements we had. A perfect blend of informality with outstanding customer service they joined the guests for chats while producing some of he best food we have eaten in Greece! The village is nestled in pine forests with the most incredible view over the sea. Beautiful flowers and scented jasmine, the most amazingly relaxing spot. Thank you Rosie and family, we will definitely be back.

Great, again! Since 2005 I visit regularly Rosy. Dear people: warm, friendly, beautiful surroundings and great food! You do not have to go outside the door, here simply do what you feel like ... As always I have a great week thanks to Rosy, Nonda, family and other staff. Avaline from the Netherlands

About ten years ago I discovered Agistri and Rosy's Little Village and loved both. When I decided, in retirement, that I wanted to stay on the island for longer periods than the two week holiday Rosy helped me to find an apartment close by. I have never looked back and here I am now, writing this from the restaurant at Rosy's, where I come whenever I feel in need of a good and tasty meal, or for some interesting company, or just to sit and enjoy the view.

Some of my friends think I am unwise to come here at this time of crisis for Greece. If they could be here today, on this peaceful small island, they would be surprised. It is still idyllic. But don't desert! The islands need their visitors.

My daughter discovered Rosy's 4 years ago and I was hooked.A wonderful location to switch off.Excellent reception from all the family and made to feel very welcome.Long lazy mornings by the sea, quite long lunches,a stroll in the evening before a delightful meal under the stars in the hotel resturant over looking the sea. This year will be my 4th holiday at Rosy's and I can't wait to be there.

Rosy's Little Village is one of those places that you dream you will find. I went on my own back in April for some much needed rest and to really get away from it all. And I did just that - took long walks around the island, had long lunches and even longer snoozes, lovely suppers at Rosy's and then sound sound sleep. Agistri is a breeze to get to from Athens and I easily done for a weekend break. I hope to book again for early summer...cant wait!
