Just returned from my second visit, The first was in 2005.
The location is ideal. The walk from the restaurant to the much must be nearly 20 metres. The town is about a hundred steps up the hill. When you get there you find a lovely little town with all your needs and a variety of restaurants and shops.
The private beach at the hotel provides loungers and gentle sea swimming. Even closer to the bar are two swimming pools with yet more loungers.
The hotel is small, about 50 rooms, but the reception is manned 24hrs. All the staff are polite and helpful from the manager down to the cleaners. English is spoken to a more than adequate level even though the majority of the guests are not.
The food is varied on a daily basis but is predominantly Greek as you would expect in Greece.
All in all an excellent hotel for a peaceful holiday.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room in the main hotel or the Villa Sophia as the annex is walk away.

This hotel has great location (I don't mind the 5 min uphill walk to the town centre) and nice facilities, altought some renovation could do really good, especially the sunbeds, as the majority of them are ripped, broken or falling apart...
The (only available room) luxury deluxe suite was nice and spacious.
To my great surprise there was not a single fresh vegetable offered in the breakfast buffet. Not even to direct demand.
Whenever I asked anything I was either met with a smile and a promise to have it done-but nothing ever got done,
Or was denied and lectured in the face.
Worst of all was the poolboy questioning, directing and bossing me and my family around. The pool hours are over at 7pm and at 6:58 pm you are not allowed to sit down on the sunbed!

We have stayed here twice, the first time was June 2011 and again in July 2014, and I find it a bit difficult to rate this hotel...I will try to explain why.

Afitis hotel has one big advantage - location location location. First, Afitos is a nice little town with charm, unlike most of the towns on Chalkidiki. The hotel is located just by the sea with lovely views. It`s about a 10 min walk up to town, mostly steps, but as long as you don`t have any problems walking, it`s no problem at all.

The hotel has really nice and wellkept gardens and pool area with a sundeck. The small private beach is nice and sandy. It is cleaned every day and has plenty of sunbeds. The sea is crystal clear and inviting. Both the beach and the sundeck are quite narrow and if you have strong preferences when it comes to sun or shadow, think before you choose your place for the day! There are a few areas in the sea which has a few rocks and sea urchins, so be careful to enter the sea outside the "pathway".

There is a pool bar/restaurant which serves drinks, snacks and light dishes like sandwiches, salads etc. Service is a bit slow, but the food is perfectly ok for lunch and the drinks are great. However, go elsewhere for dinner! The food is blant and pricey and there are a lot of great restaurants in town (Sousourada, Christos, Soboro and many more).

The rooms are ok, a bit basic taking the price into consideration. They have standard rooms, suites and luxury suites. We have stayed in standard rooms both times, ones with garden/partial sea view and ones with full sea view. All rooms have balconies, and you want a room at the main building with a view, not the ones at the back of the hotel facing the hill/road.The rooms need some updating, they are a bit dark and the beds are on the hard side. You really do spend most of the time outside so it doesn`t really matter!

Breakfast is included and there is a great variety of breads, pies, ham, cheese, eggs, fruits, sweets and fresh orange juice.

There is free wifi inside and outside.

The only problem we have with this hotel is the hotel management and hotel policies. The service from staff is friendly and good, BUT there are all kind of rules that gets annoying in the end. For example:
- you are not allowed to move the umbrellas because you can make scratches on the sundeck. So either sun or shadow....
- staff at the pool bar is not alllowed to take 5 steps onto the beach so when the guy working on the beach is not there, there is no service
- it`s not allowed to take drinks form the hotel bar/pool bar back to your hotel room/balcony, only roomservice which costs 3 euro extra.
- it`s not allowed to put anything (not even a bottle of water) in the minibar even if there is plenty of room

This is not a familly friendly hotel or a party hotel, so guests are mostly friends or couples which makes it a very quite and calm place to relax and enjoy the sun and sea. All in all, a lovely place. With upgraded rooms and a bit more flexibility it would have been absolutely perfect!

Room Tip: Stay at the main building and in a room with sea and/or garden view! Rooms on the top floors have be...

Afitos appeared to be the prettiest and very old, historic village on the peninsular. The hotel location was ideal right on the beautiful beach and sea, overlooking the next peninsular. We found the hotel superb, and staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again. Only slight downsides were the hard beds (but usual for Greece) and the food (half board) a bit repetitive, although nice.

Room Tip: We had a 'garden room' on the 2nd floor which had nice views to the rear and sea views to th...

We wanted somewhere to go that was going to be quiet and relaxing and decided on this area and hotel as it looked secluded. It was beautiful, right on the beach with a gorgeous view. The staff were so lovely and made the stay perfect and the food was excellent. I usually hate buffets but it was lovely fresh traditional food and different every night. It was out of season when we went so quiet and relaxing it may be different at the height of season. One thing to pay for though is a sea view we had a garden view room and it was overlooking a massive mountain so not much light or view and if I went back again would def pay for a sea view as this was the only thing that let it down a bit but it wasn't a big deal. Afitos village itself is traditional with lots of little tavernas and a small supermarket. If you want a mad entertainment drinking holiday it isn't for you but for quiet relaxation excellent.
