We were travelling with 3 kids and our elderly parents (7 people in total). There was something for everyone here! The wide selection of food catered to everyone's needs. Although it was not very 'Greek', there was a lovely Greek restaurant on the beach that compensated for this. The management were very accommodating, and our rooms were fabulous and clean. The pool and the pool bar were lovely. The beach was gorgeous. Would stay here again if travelling with an entourage!

I spend my summer holidays (Aug 2011) at Lagomandra hotel, for 1 week. I found a good price for HB. The room was spacious, like a little maisonnete (1 room at the first floor with bathroom) and one spacious room, with TFT screen, fridge, radio-cd, dryer, safebox, closet and a lovely balcony overlooking the whole hotel and lagomandra bay. I didn't visit Lagomandra beach at all, but I went to many different beaches at Sithonia (2nd leg) and Kassandra (1st leg). Food was nice, with a good variety, but nothing exceptional. the hotel is situated on a steep hill, so if your room is at the far end you need to walk a steep hill but it is ok. Car is a must have. Parking available even though limited.quite spacious for families with children, pool is clean etc. Highly recommended overall.

Room tip: 3rd block up the hill, top floor. I think ours was 329.

A *** hotel, not a bad one. The staff is ok, polite and helpful. The rooms are basic, cleaned every day (not very thoroughly), bed linen and towels changed every other day. The canteen (not a restaurant, by any means) is more or less acceptable, if you take care to avoid dated sausages and weird-looking salads, the pool and the bar are the same: basic, but acceptable.

There are two major reasons two avoid this hotel, though:

1. The ROAD: very busy; noisy cars and motorbikes day and night, it is impossible not only to relax, but to sleep properly at night. I guess the noise is heard from everywhere in the hotel, since the hotel itself is just six 3-storyed buildings crammed between the road and the hill. There’s no territory, no fence, or greenery (a few olives and palm trees jammed between the buildings and the pool do not count), or anything to seclude the hotel form the road, so it is more of an overgrown car-park than a holiday spot. The lower hotel of Lagomandra Beach is the same plus the persistent smell of sewage.

Throughout our stay I got an impression that the whole of Balkan Peninsula was heading towards the beach of Lagomandra for their holiday, way too many people, and lots of families with 3 to 5 kids each, adding to the general noise, unrest and lack of privacy in Lagomandra.

2. The BEACH. This was my most bitter disappointment, since I was prepared to put up with some inconvenience just to see the “golden sand” and “pristine waters” of Lagomandra. Well, as you may guess, the beach was overcrowded with Balkan holidaymakers, very noisy and unclean. Lots of cigarette butts, plastic cups, wraps, sticks, pine needles, and whatnot, on the sand which is grey and reminds of very small granite fractions. The sea is rather deep just 3 steps away from the shore. So it looked like a very dense soup of small kids and their parents along the shoreline. Lagomandra hotel charges 6 Euro per umbrella + 2 sun beds. They really could hire someone to clean the beach, once in a while. The water, in mid-august, was COLD. Generally, it was not a big treat, please believe me. To add, the beach tavern is just awful. Dirty, not tasty, very slow service, and very expensive at that. Oh, and music from the beach bar all day long.

The nearby town of Neos Marmaras deserves one visit, no more. Unclean, generally not interesting, no place to dine out.

All in all, Lagomandra is not a place for a relaxing and peaceful holiday. It makes you wish you left your ears at home. The beauty of the place is spoiled by the road and by the hotel itself. I would not recommend it, but it seems that hordes of nomads would)).

Room tip: First line of barracks faces the road and is very noisy

too many stars , too much money
food very poor, like in students restaurant, not enough fruits, real meat, real fish,,,
only one plate with fruit for all people?? strange situacion.
you have to pay water on diner, OLIVES (one kind of olives) are more then terrible.
GREEK 4 STARS HOTEL WITHOUT GOOD OLIVES???
REAL SHAME for this place.
chef of restaurant is not profesional . he has different aproach to guests. depends of nationality.
absolutely not for families with babies and kids in pushchairs. too many stairs, elevator is not working... going to restaurant or pool is night mare for parents...

We have been in the hotel above the street. Everything in this hotel was almost perfect for a 4 star hotel. The rooms are beautifully designed, with new furniture. Rooms are cleaned daily, and everything in and around hotel is very clean. The food is varied, mostly excellent, and there's no way to leave kitchen hungry or unsatisfied. The staff in kitchen was very businesslike, professional, and may not come to you always with big smile but you will be served very quickly. The beach is large and clean. The water is perfectly clean all day, whether a wind and waves. Pine forest provides the perfect shade for the hotel taverna located next to the beach as well as for recreation. Beach Staff is not quite at the level of 4 star hotel (that service can be sometimes annoying) and beach umbrella with two sun beds have to be paid 6 euros. Wireless Internet is 2 euros per hour, which is OK price, but wireless range is limited. Wireless Internet range is only about reception and do not expect to have a chance in the room to use it. Unfortunately internet signal around the pool (which have visual line with reception and it is only 30m away) is weak and this have to be improved! Other minor disadvantages are: lack of courts for volleyball or similar sports, lack of bicycles from hotel leaflet, Jacuzzi in the pool was out of service.
