Looking for a hotel in Halkidiki region, I bumped into Eagles Palace Hotel. I carefully went through most reviews and I got hooked up.

Hotel is located in the third "finger" of Halkidiki peninsula, a good two hours drive from Thessaloniki, but the surroundings, the beach and the sea are totally worth it.

As you step into the hotel, you are immediately made to feel at home. Giorgia from reception is really a nice lady, very helpful, showing us the room, explaining the facilities and the program for the coming days.

We were upgraded to a junior seaview suite with a nice little terrace equipped with sunbeds, coffee table and chairs where we could have our morning coffee. From the complementary water, Nespresso and greek wine, it starts off really great.

And it gets better.

The service in this resort is outstanding!

Gardens, pool and beach area are spotless!

Breakfast is rich and basically nothing is missing!

Open buffet dinner, is every night a different theme and I literally couldn't decide what to try first. Food is amazing.

I was especially surprised by the degustation menu with Hotel's Chef and Greek Master of Wines Lazarakis! A Fine Dining Menu accompanied by a blind tasting of Greek vs. French wines! Rarely have I found a dinner so much entertaining! Thank you Giorgia for telling me not to miss this event ;-)

All the restaurants in this resort serve amazing food and I can't stress enough: a 5 star service!

You can have lunch at Armyra Restaurant by the beach or have a snack or sandwich brought to you right at the beach.

Every day the housekeeping lady brings you the next day program along with a small "treat" :-)

A visit in the Ouranoupolis village is absolutely a must! There are countless cafes, restaurants and shops where you could get souvenirs like olive oil, honey, spices from the Mount Athos or other knick-knacks to remember your holiday by.

Speaking about Athos, you should absolutely take the boattrip organised by the hotel where your guide a lovely Austrian lady will tell you all you need to know about Mount Athos and the odd life of monks in that land. Before returning to the hotel a dive in the turquoise waters of Drenia Islands - absolutely not to miss.

At the end I may or may not returned home at least 2 kilograms more ;-) even though there's Aquagym and a small but well equipped gym.

Especially for the ladies: do not leave without trying their Spa services. Can't praise it enough.

Overall, I would say this is a 5 star resort, with a 5 star service.
Yes, expensive but totally worth every single euro spent!

Georgia from the Front Desk, Olga from Guest Relations, Nikos from the Armyra and Kamares Restaurant, Thank You all for making our holidays unforgettable.

I came here with my parents at the end of August for ten days. For all three of us it was our first visit to Greece. Our stay was fantastic and thanks to all the staff of the hotel we felt very welcome. We fell in love with the place from day one. We were greeted by the welcome drinks and then shown our way to the rooms. The staff were very helpful. They explained straight away all the useful things we needed to know like how to dial each others rooms, etc. Our rooms were lovely and we received an update on the main events in the hotel every day. The beach is very close to the rooms. It is very picturesque and every angle and direction provides for an amazing view. Whilst swimming in the sea the hotel looks like it just naturally fits into the surroundings, like a rock inside the palm tree oasis. The beach area is separated into smaller areas which created a sense of privacy. There was plenty of space for everyone and even though the hotel was full it did not feel crowded. The hotel itself is very beautiful and the design is very stylish. Within the relatively small area of the hotel there are plenty of restaurants and each one of them has a unique view and feel about it. The food was of high quality and the service was quick and of high standard. We tried a lot of traditional Greek food. We were very grateful to Nina and Olga in guest relations for being so helpful and responsive. This included an unforgettable trip to Mount Athos for my dad (which normally takes quite a long time to get permission for), hiring a car, organising airport transfers and an early breakfast before departure. We felt very well looked after and the organisation was seamless. It felt like we spent our time together in Heaven and we hope to be back again.

My husband and I wanted a little break from family life and booked ourselves a suite for one night at this hotel. As time approached it transpired that we could not leave our 17-month old with grandparents so I e-mailed the hotel to inform them to add a baby to the booking. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating and added a baby bed to the booking.

When we arrived we were not disappointed. The Eagles Palace hotel does offer the service and luxury that a five-star hotel should offer. We have travelled quite a lot and see big differences between hotels that claim to be 5 star ( France is the worst!). The staff were very friendly, offered us drinks as soon as we arrived and they upgraded our room so we had quite a lot of space.
The bed was huge and very comfortable and the room and bathroom very clean. There was a free Nesspresso machine and wonderful toiletries.
We particularly enjoyed the beach and the service there. You get lovely beach towels from the hotel and there is a buzzer at every beach umbrella and when you ring it, within a minute someone comes at your service, like it happens with air stewards on the aeroplane.
The food from the room service was very good and the dinner at the Vinnum restaurant was very fresh. Breakfast was very good too.
We particularly liked the many coffee-table books they had in the lobby that anyone could browse through. Generally the hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere and staff were attentive but without feeling like you're being watched all the time. It is very child friendly and we would certainly like to go again, especially when the little one is a bit older and she can take part in the children's activities organised. Saying that, even though there were quite a few children around, it was not noisy and it did not feel like if you are just adults you cannot relax and enjoy it without being swamped by children. The hotel is a child friendly ADULT hotel.
The only minor points were that the hotel website is quite deceiving as to what is suite with sea view and suite with sea front. We had booked suite with sea view and were upgraded to suite with sea front, but I can assure you we could see the sea only in the far distance from our balcony, past the terrace that we had in front of us.... Also the balconies could do with bigger canopies because the afternoon sun can be ferocious. and it is impossible to enjoy the balcony unless it is early morning or evening....

Room Tip: choose a room that has been rennovated, ask when booking.

Hotel staff couldn't be more helpful and the hotel itself is lovely. Few niggles about noise we were in a sea front suite but it had an connecting door and we had very noisy guests in the adjacent room which did interfere with sleeping. Shower in the bathroom also on the small side would have expected a larger shower cubicle forthe price of the room. Breakfasts were very good and we ate most nights in traditional Greek tavernas in Ouranopoli.

Kat and Nicki at the adjacent dive centre are fantastic for both inexperienced and experienced divers

WARNING though do not use Europcar. We hired a car for our stay and should have returned it on Thursday at 10am, 12.30am (in the morning of the day we were supposed to return it) we were hassled by the car hire company demanding the car back because they wanted it for another customer at 7.00am. Disgusted at the hotel for putting him through to our room and when we complained to Europcar head office he was not an official franchisee.

Our lovely holiday is drawing to a close. Only one day left! We have had a wonderful relaxing get away from it all holiday. The hotel is beautifully situated overlooking a sandy beach , there are always plenty of sun beds and umbrellas and no feeling of being cramped or crowded. Towels are in plentiful supply and drinks can be ordered on the beach by a call button no less!
The food has always been of a very high quality and there are a number of quiet candlelit dining experiences by the sea and overlooking the beach. A feeling of homeliness and serenity makes this resort special.

We have taken advantage of the shuttle bus , the exercise classes and the spa , all of which have added to the experience.
The staff are exceptional, always friendly and attentive and Olga in Guest Services has been charming and so very kind and helpful .
For a relaxing break we would really recommend this hotel, it feels like home! Xxxx Caroline Inker

We stayed at Eagles Palace for a week in June for our honeymoon and had the most amazing stay. It was a long transfer from the airport, but we'd paid for a private transfer so just sat back and enjoyed the ride.

We were greeted with a lovely drink and friendly staff on arrival. Our room was overlooking the little garden off reception and had beautiful sea views and was spotlessly clean. As it was our honeymoon we had a fruit basket and drink in our room with a little card, which was all a nice touch. The rooms do not have tea/coffee making facilities, but we heard other couples asking for them and it wasn't a problem.

It seemed that everyone in the hotel knew we were honeymooners and really went out of their way to congratulate us and make us feel special.

We are not huge fans of buffet food usually, but this was by far the best selection we've experienced in a hotel. There was a different theme each night, all high quality, and there were no long queues. Breakfast on the terrace in the mornings was lovely and something we always took our time over. We did not have one bad meal, and on our last night ate in Kamares and sat under a tree lit with lanterns overlooking the beach which was fabulous.

We loved the fact that we could always find a little alcove or quiet spot to escape to and enjoy the peace and quiet (although I have to say the hotel didn't seem particularly busy in general when we were there). The beach was perfect, with the sea right at the foot of our loungers which was really calm and lovely to swim in, the beach service was great too, just push the call bell on the parasol and they'll bring you whatever you like!

We had a couple of rainy days so spent those pottering around in the spa which we thoroughly enjoyed, and I had a wonderful massage there. There's an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, various steam/saunas and other spa experiences all available free of charge (treatments were extra).

We only ventured outside of the hotel on the boat trip that leaves from the little jetty. It was worth every penny and the couple operating the boat were really knowledgeable about the area and history. There are a few different trips to go on and the hotel can arrange everything for you.

On the way home our tour operator messed up our private transfer, and before we even had a chance to notice, the hotel arranged for their own car to take us to the airport without fuss or panic.

Overall this hotel had wonderful old fashioned service in stunning surroundings, a place to go for complete relaxation and pampering - we didn't want to leave and hope to be back soon!

Room Tip: Ask for a full sea view room, overlooking the little courtyard garden

location, beach, service was great. had hb because of child, where breakfast was faultless, dinner repetative and not worth the price. eat in town. biggest problem was the nightly noise from the hallways, the room doors are flimsy and thin offering no noise isolation. comic relief are the beach boys who make a big show and circus when they can actually provide you with a clean beach towel. nice place, small annoying problems.insulation.
