“Nicely surprised”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2013

After readying the posts here was not sure what to expect, however it turned out to be a great choice. Spent 3 nights on a HB basis in the end of April (the very begging of the season) and the weather was awesome (25-28 C), sea temperature was a bit cold but still pleasant for a short dip. Although there were only few people in the hotel the buffet breakfasts and dinners were of a good variety, quality and quantity.
We were given a free upgrade to a loft (maisonette) which was really nice and spacious with great terrace with beautiful view.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating, specially the receptionist.
Make sure you visit the nearby island Ammouliani, there are some very nice beaches, Alikes for example.
There was nothing to complain about, just wanted to make some recommendations: since there are a lot of mosquitos in the evening I would suggest some sort of spraying should be considered.
Also we struggled to find the number of the reception since there was not such information in the room.
As a conclusion we would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and would not hesitate to return for a longer stay.

Room Tip: lofts have kitchenettes which are useful.

We were at this hotel and we spent best holiday. They have very kind hospitality, expetially the menager (the woman). We have the room witn view to the swimming pools. The pools were very nice because they have salt water in them. We have 6 months older baby and a girl 3 years they enjoy very much. The services in hotel are very beautiful, the room was cleaned every day and they change towel every day. The food was very nice. WE RECOMMAND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE and we will go this year again

Room Tip: Higher floors because the view is excellent

This hotel has it all if you are looking for a relaxing time by the sea. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, especially the suites which have a lovely loft. The buffet has something for everyone. The property is well cared for and includes a play area for children, game rooms, mini market, 4 pools and a private access to the beach so you do not have to walk on the street. The down side is that you must have a car to go out, but if you're looking for a self-contained area to relax this is it. The hotel staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Suites on the upper level above the pools have a beautiful view over the property and over the sea!

Our family of four (the two grown ups and kids aged 6 and 2) visited Theoxenia for 9 days in mid august '12.

We got a standard room - the room was nice and spacious: there was enough space for the tween bed, the bed for the bigger kid and baby cot as well as for the piles of other "necessary" staff such as beach balls, bags etc... There is a small TV in the room but didn't use it very much and can't say much about the channels.

The room was cleaned daily and thoroughly. We were very satisfied by the general cleanliness of the hotel.

The hotel has a complex of seawater pools including two kid pools which are very clena and nice. One of them is "jakuzi" pool though that one sometimes smelled too much on chlorine.

The beach is very near and it is accessible through a tunnel. The beach is sandy with interesting stones all over the beach. The entrance in the see is a bit rocky though once you pass the rocky part it is sand again. The stones are very interesting in color and shape and the kids loved to search for them. The sunbeds and the umbrella are a bit expensive - 5 euros for a day, and 2.5 euros for the afternoon.

We had all-inclusive package and the breakfast is standard but tasty, but the lunch and the dinner are very rich and there is something for everyone. The only remark we had was on the sweets - a little more variation is preferred (but it's sugar after all and you should not have too much of it anyway :) ). The all-inclusive package is only valid by 21.00. It is not valid for the beach bar (and this was clearly stated by the agency where we booked the hotel)

The hotel staff is very nice, pleasant, and helpful, starting with the operations manager Ms. Dimitridu.

There is some entertainment in the evenings. Once a week there is a magician (and he's quite good actually) and there was a greek night which I found very fun and interesting. The kids disco was a bit of a disappointment because except the loud music and the big number of balloons there wasn't anybody who would animate the kids and make it a bit more interesting for them. There is another playroom for the bigger kids and grown ups with pool, table football etc...

The is a playroom in the hotel (also without a designated person) where the little ones can spend some time playing and socializing.

There isn't much in the hotel vicinity except other hotel so if you'd like to visit some other places you'd need a car (there is a shuttle service in the hotel but I have no idea what they do or do not do...). There is nice interesting island very near the hotel and we recommend it because of the beautiful sandy beaches. If you go by car, there is a ferry line nearby (i think there is one every 15-20 minutes, and it is about 30 Euro round trip).

As a conclusion, the hotel offers excellent value for the money, and we gladly recommend it for families with little kids.

First of all, we would like to thank two beautiful women, Teodora Stefou and Maria Enehelidou, for their kindness and disposition and wish them all the best in their personal and professional life.

Our family, two children (age of 11 and 4), spouse, and me, stayed in the hotel Theoxenia 11 nights, until August 10. Although we paid via the Booking.com for a “double room with view“, at the arrival we got a loft apartment, located just above pools and main buildings. It was much more expensive in the offer, but we did not need to pay any additional fees.

Our apartment was very nice, with a large basement and another store, with a large balcony overlooking the pools and sea, and a nice functional bathroom. Both stores had a separate air-conditioning system, so, beside the plenty space for kidding and resting we had also a comfortable climate.

From our building, which may not have more than 12 apartments, there was a direct access to a couple of nice pools with sea water and a lovely small garden with playground and many accessories for children and benches for parents. The main building with reception and restaurant was just below the pools and one needed to cross only a small parking area. By the way, many parking places around all the buildings were available for the hotel’s guests. For the apartment buildings there were even places just beside or even inside them, so car junkies could have the pets at their fingertips.

The restaurant was nice and clean, sufficiently spacious considering the number of guests. We had a half-board service and were satisfied with the offered food. For the breakfast, there was a usual, mixed continental and Mediterranean table, not especially various, but tasteful. For the evening, the variety of food was very good, there was a choice for everyone’s taste and preference. Even for kids, there was a corner with some light stuff such as pitas and pastes and another one with admirable ice-creams and toppings. Also, there was a good offer of beverages and wines. So, upon our opinion, this part of the hotel service was also impeccable and correspond to the hotel’s category.

Just beside the main entrance, there was a staircase which leaded to a short tunnel (30 meters app.) with the beach exit. The whole beach in this area was very long. Its sand was not of the finest grade, but sufficiently fine for the kids and their usual plays with pails, shovels, and rakes. With each dig, a lot of small and lovely sandstones could arise from sand which made the children play even more interesting and enthusiastic. Although there were other hotels in the neighbourhood and all of them had their own access to the beach, there were free places, umbrellas, and sunbeds for everyone and all of them were available for all guests, regardless the hotel they came from. The prices for renting one umbrella and two sunbeds were from 3 to 5 Euros per day. Several beach bars can be found in proximity as well.

The sea was very nice, clean, and warm. In that period of year, the sea was also calm, so we enjoyed swimming and playing water games with kids all the time. One day, we also rented a small motor-boat and experienced an unforgettable journey on neighbouring islands, such as Ammouliani, the largest of them. It was a fantastic day; we explored many beaches and bays and swam in a crystal coloured and transparent water. So, we recommend to everyone such an adventure, especially since it is not so expensive, 40 Euros for the boat whole day, plus a consumed diesel-fuel.

The hotel organized almost every day thematic nights, which were especially interesting and amusing for kids. In particular, our kids were very interested and involved in a party lead by magician Manolo, so we would take this opportunity to congratulate him for his lovely show.

As a conclusion, we were very satisfied with the Hotel Theoxenia, got more than expected, and finally really enjoyed in our holiday.

We were at the hotel in mid-July 2012,
beautifully arranged, clean rooms, wonderful food
just boasting little more fun for children and adults
and operate pools until at least 8 pm and they close at 6 pm
for family vacation is solid, just a little deserted and no place to take a stroll in the evening

The hotel is old, but clean.
The food was excellent, tasety and various. Except of the lack of fresh fruites.
The personnel were polite and ammiable.
All inclusive was very poor. No refreshments on the beach bar, no ice cream for the childrens, main bar closes at 9 PM, at the same time with the dinner, so no refreshments after that time.
Sunbeds not included in all inclusive.
