We popped in here for lunch after a visit to the nearby country park. After quite a demanding hike up the woods, we weren't really in the mood for anything too heavy. Unfortunately the lunchtime menu selection had few light bite options, and consisted mainly of traditional evening meal main courses. Because of this we just ordered two items off the starters section. This was subsequently frowned upon by our waitress who didn't appear to be particularly keen that was all we were having. The food arrived and was fine all in all, but we didn't get a 2 minute check that everything was ok. The window behind the bars in the gent's toilet was absolutely black and filthy which doesn't instill you with much confidence over the cleaning standards of the place as a whole. If I noticed this in two seconds then surely the guys running the place have also.
All in all, wasn't too bad, but needs a better lunchtime menu. If lighter bites are what you're after then the cafe at the country park may be a better bet.
