“Best Hilton”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

We stayed here for 2 weeks early October. This hotel is excellent in every respect if you wish for a beach resort holiday. It is very relaxed with a high level of customer focused staff. Great choice of facilities and a wide choice of bars, restaurants etc. I have visited around 25 Hilton's worldwide and this is my favorite.

Firstly, the rooms are very good the beds are okay, view from the balcony over the the river was fantastic and the shower is great. The air con although comfortable for me I knew talking to other guests that it did not meet their requirements and was not good enough and led to hot, uncomfortable nights. The first few nights of my stay were comfortable until a rowdy group moved in upstairs and when they arrived at 00:30 making a noise it was not good. The other problem was each day our key's would not work in the door we must have had the key's reprocessed 3 or 4 times and it started getting really annoying. We went to Bars Street on our first night at about 11 or 12 ish and you would expect a Bars Street to be active but instead it was like a ghost town a dance floor with lights but no people.

The swimming pools are the worst of most luxury hotels I have visited, and this is simply due to the fact that they are not heated. But in the hotel's description it say's nowhere that the pools are heated and it is off-season so there is not so much that can be done about this.

The spa is okay, the steam room is in desperate need of a better light else people are going to end up sitting on each other. Roman baths are good aswell. The indoor swimming pool is the only warm swimming pool in the hotel so it's certainly nice. Although it was packed with kids during the day so I found going in around 7pm it was quiet and very pleasant.

The buffet during the first few day's seemed boring and insipid. Sometimes I could mistake the buffet for a school dining hall with the amount of children running round, bits of food on the floor. Although this improved by the end of the holiday I am glad that we could go to the a la carte restaurants, as this was much better than the buffet. Alize was great, would recommend going there again and so too was the Indian and Chinese. Also another problem with buffet food was that it was virtually all look warm. Additionally drinks in the Piano Forte bar seem rushed in peak times and are also look warm never hot.

The beach near the hotel is not fantastic, not the fine sand we imagined and a dark pebbly, gritty sort of sand with not much going on.

The location of the hotel was good, we rented a car for three days and this enabled us to travel about the place. We went to Fethiye, Olu Deniz and Kayakoy one day. The next, Koycegiz, Dalyan, Caunos and the final day Saklikent Gorge and Patara beach.

My wife and myself stayed here last week in May2013 for two weeks had a great time pools were great food was great not to busy loads of resturants to choose from I took up Archery and Air rifel while we were there.there was tennis courts and golf if you fancied it.The rooms were great with nic views front and back, plenty of bars to drink in staff were brilliant when they got to know you Sparky was one of the best great bloke.Go on a jeep safari it was one of the best things we done on our holiday just wish we had the money to go back this year.

Room Tip: try and get a room at the back so you can see the river & mountains on floor two or three.

We first went to the Hilton in 2011 and thought it was overall the best hotel we have ever holidayed in. We travel twice a month with business and so have a lot of hotel experience from Shangri la to Manderin oriental to Drake hotel Chicago.
We enjoyed it so much we though maybe this is the standard for 5* in turkey and booked to another group in Bodrum the following year. That was a huge mistake.
This year we went again to the hilton and took all our family (who are all grown up now) as well and they all hold the same view.
This is the standard to beat
If we could afford it we would be there every year !!

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are very good

We enjoyed our third visit to this amazing resort hotel. We felt the courtesy at the front desk and the recognition they give to HHonors Diamond members had improved and we were given an upgrade to a King Deluxe Room with direct access to the pool, a free meal at an a la carte restaurant, a bottle of wine in the room and a bowl of fruit, free wifi and late checkout to 4pm. Maria on reception is excellent and organised my return trip to the airport with the local tour company – Panda when I had difficulty contacting them.
I thought the variety and quality of food in the buffet restaurant was exceptional and equal to the a la carte restaurants although the Italian Restaurant we visited gave exceptional service. The adults’ only seating area in the buffet restaurant is a new and welcome addition.
We unknowingly stayed during a Turkish festival period so the number of children staying was very high but the resort is large enough that all age groups can enjoy themselves. The only overcrowding was on occasion in the indoor pool which was the only pool at 29 degrees C which we found warm enough to swim in (other pools were only 21 degrees C).
I agree with other reviewers that the air conditioning in the bedrooms would not cool below 24 degrees which is too hot however I found that opening the balcony door (keep fly screen closed) for a while worked better.
Although the temperature outside was coldish for some of the evening entertainment the waiting staff were great and patio heaters around tables helped. Bar street was much busier previously experienced and the sparkling wine was very nice. The new cocktail and liqueur menu looks to have come from the Alan Carr show but the bar staff will make you anything you prefer.
There were lots of returning guests and many of the people we talked to said they would return.

Like many families we took a lot of time reading reviews and searching for our summer holiday. We needed something that kept a 12 year and a 10 year old happy as well as ticking the boxes for us adults. We traveled at the end of August 2013.The hotel is very impressive and after a quick check in we were shown to our room.We did request a side river/mountain view but unfortunately had a view of the main gate,a little disappointed. The room was relatively small for a family of 4 with a sofa bed and a camp bed next to it to accommodate my 2 kids.Have to say the large double we had was great! Our first evening at dinner we made the mistake of eating inside, staff were struggling to clear plates and it felt like a very large canteen. However next night we ate outside,a completely different experience..we kept the same section and waiter for our stay, crossing his palm with a few TL,the service was excellent! We did try the teppanyaki one night which was more than worth the extra money. The pool area is large and even at the height of the season we didn't feel it was too packed.Whatever hotel you go to you get the towel leavers which is annoying but we got to the sunbeds about 9.30 and never had a problem getting 4 together. The slides are great. The lunch menus and outside dining areas are also very good.We did a couple of activities, which if you book together you can get a deal on.Evening entertainment was good but some sort of beech party that involved all ages of kids would have been great..some party nights had age restrictions..i don't get age restrictions when on holiday! So overall a lovely holiday..If you're looking for all inclusive and great food you won't go too far wrong here.I will probably spend a few months,as always looking for the next best holiday destination, but tbh i have a gut feeling that it might be the Hilton Dalaman again!

A second trip to this fabulous property did not disappoint! The weather was fab, the facilities in great shape (new waterslides were super!) and we left feeling very relaxed and well cared for. The place is immaculate and the staff were very friendly. The food is amazing - I have never seen such variety and quality, especially for vegetarians. We are missing the soup for breakfast! We will return....
