My husband & myself have just returned from a two week stay at the Hilton Dalaman, on arrival we were very impressed, the hotel itself is huge, the gardens beautiful, check in was prompt & efficient, the bell boy took our suitcases to our room which was on the fourth floor.

THE ROOM.
The room was a good size, and bathroom well equpped, various toilettries, a separate toilet, a good size flat screen tv, but only 2 english channels, these were news channels, we believe that a hotel such as the Hilton should have some extra english speaking channels, films etc, i know you dont go on holiday to sit in your room, but it would have been nice, the balcony was a decent size, two chairs & a small table, the air con was fine in the room, mini bar refilled daily, although ours wasnt on four occassions, but a quick phone call to reception sorted that.

THE HOTEL.
The hotel is massive, very beautiful decor, very very clean, a credit to the hotel staff, those guys work their socks off, the grounds gardens etc were beautiful, flowers everywhere, it took us a few days to find our way round the place.

THE POOLS.
Wow, amazing, we managed to get the soft mattresses most days as the sun beds were very uncomfortable, but to get these you need to get up really early.

THE BARS.
Outside during the day there are a few restaurants/bars for lunch, the Breeze bar was ok but the food was not warm enough, the Vento Bar in our opinion was better, most of the waiters were lovely & very attentive, one guy stood out from the rest, i think his name was Shane, was the nicest guy you could ever meet, when other waiters could not understand english, he quickly came over to rectify the problem, these guys work very hard they are a credit to the hotel. Bar Street consists of a few bars all within the one building, of the three times we ventured into the bars, only one of them had a person serving, Bar street was a waste of space. The Rouge Bar was nice with great air con, but only one waiter who forgot our drinks on a few occassions. The Pianoforte Bar was also nice, although the piano would drive you mad, what we cant understand is why some alcoholic beverages in one hotel bar are all inclusive, however in another bar they are charged to your room???

THE ENTERTAINMENT.
The entertainment was very poor indeed, they had a show most nights in the Amphitheatre, a dance troop called Chapter One were very good as was the Chinese acrobats, but the rest of the shows were of poor quality, also there is no bar. the only other entertainment was in the Breeze bar, we found it to be boring, appart from a Drifters tribute band, they were absolutely brilliant, the rest of the entertainment in our opinion was rubbish, compared to the entertainnment in various other turkish hotels we have stayed in. the Hilton really need to get their act together and pay some acts to come in, also these acts are repeated every week, so if you saw them the first week you knew what was coming the next.

KARAOKE.
Karaoke night on Sundays, but beware, it was terrible, they only have a book with up to date music & one with very old, beatles, buddy holly etc! theres nothing inbetween, the compare (animation team) was a nitemare, very loud & loved the sound of his own voice, some children got up to sing, they werent very good, he made fun of them, letting everyone know they were not great, we thought this was out of order as it takes a lot to get up and sing in front of everyone, they couldnt find songs or put the wrong songs on, it was so misorganised it was unbeleiveable. the Hilton needs to employ someone trained in Karaoke to run the show, we have never seen so many people getting up to leave.

THE FOOD.
Dear, dear, whilst the presentation in the main restaurant was beautiful, the food served was mostly cold, every day was the same, obviously there are no food thermometers in Turkey??? one day i was just about to put roast potatoes on my plate, when the chef started to put new ones in, i thought happy days they will be piping hot, but to my disappointment they were stone cold, my husband got the beef many times he said it was cold & very tough, we discovered a microwave in the nearby childrens corner on our second week, but beleive for a 5 star Hilton hotel having to reheat food yourself was totally unacceptable, there was a vast amount of flies in the main restaurant crawling over the food, which was discusting, they need to invest & install electronic insect zappers to stop this, my husband reported the cold food issue to reception twice, the girl spoke very good english, she took our room number and assured us our comments would be passed on and we would be updated accordingly, this never happened, we were never contacted by management, The Hilton states they want their clenentelle to be happy, but to be honest, i dont think they take any complaints onboard, ice making machines in the corridors not working, was also reported to reception, and again nothing done to repair them. We visited 3 of the Al a carts, at an additional charge of 15euros pp, the Finesse Indian wasnt bad but not authentic, the time between courses was terrible, the Tao Chinese again wasnt bad, although the sushi was warm, supposed to be chilled, its fish for gods sake! service again very slow, we gave up on desert??? this needs to be addressed, we visited the indian twice, in our opinion we think these restaurants should be included in the all inclusive as they were not a big deal.

SUMMARY.
All in all i think we would have been happy with a week at the Hilton Dalaman as we were bored with the evening entertainment, and most times the cold inedible food, after paying over £4000, to come here, it did not come up to our expectations at all, we have been to better hotels in Turkey, both with better HOT food & better entertainment. I doubt we will return.

Room Tip: sea view rooms are good but expect to see the sea

We returned from Hilton 22nd June (a bit late posting!) myself husband and 2x16yr old boys we stayed for a week in 2 rooms. I knew that if we didn't go somewhere with facilities for older children, then the boys would try to lay in bed til 2pm and then sit on their phones all afternoon. But that didn't happen at all, there was football, water polo, water basketball, everywhere had something going on and all the adults/teenagers joined in together, the kids club activities were all separate, so we didn't have to go near a mini disco if you didn't want to. I spent most of my time on the sunbed mattress' being served drinks by the roller skating waitress, and enjoyed the superbly equipped gym, and tried a couple of yoga/pilates classes. The water park was good, my husband and i had great fun there. The beach was dark sand but the jetty was lovely as was swimming in the sea. The only disappointment was the water sports - the compressors didn't work so no scuba, it was too windy to parasail and whilst they took our money (and didn't refund it) the water was far too choppy for water skiing, in fact I was out only 5mins and had 1 go at trying to stand up before he told me that I couldn't do it anymore.
Evening entertainment however was the best I have seen, with professional entertainers, Chinese acrobats, Turkish dancers etc (not animators) and singers/disco's afterwards til the early hours. I would say the Japanese restaurant is a must and well worth the 20euro each and we loved the views from the rouge bar, and enjoyed the outdoor screenings of the world cup, every match was shown somewhere! All the staff were friendly and helpful, service overall was very good - as far as free wifi in reception goes, that was fine once you got used to how far you can go, but do take a few codes with you, so you dont have to keep going back to reception. My husband and I have been to sandals and dreams and felt this was definitely as good a hotel as sandals, just with kids and no premium beer.

Room Tip: I would definitely say mountain view on the river side is best.

Amazing hotel with really spacious rooms, perfect facilities, incredible a-la-carte restaurants, lots of swimming pools and a nice beach. The hotel really gives the credit to "Hilton" name. The waiters were very attentive even though it is an all inclusive hotel (usually they do not want to serve elsewhere). There are different bars for every interest and the food is amazing. Our room had its own entrance to the swimming pool which makes you feel special indeed. For all the plus sides, I still would not recommend this hotel to childless couples because of the a huge number of big families choosing this hotel. There are children everywhere, even at the adult pool (where under 16 is not allowed). I couldn't understand if it is too underpriced or anything else, the customers did not seem as the regular Hilton customers to me.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your positive comments about our hotel and service – we are delighted that you enjoyed your holiday. Whilst we aim to appeal to all types of customers, it is true of holiday resorts everywhere that there is an increase in families during the school summer holidays. We will continue to monitor our Adult-Only areas closely to ensure that those without children enjoy their relaxation time. Thank you again for your valuable feedback and for choosing to stay with us, we hope to welcome you back soon. Kind regards

Just back from a weeks holiday in the Hilton, Dalaman. This is the third time back to the hotel but the first time in the Summer. Kids aged 11, 12, 12 and 13. We had a fantastic time, 12th birthday catered for by the Italian a la carte and we were made to feel very special. Some familiar waiters faces which is always nice. Kids loved the water polo and the water basketball but a bit hot for football and tennis through the day. Food delicious, we sampled the tapenyaki as well as the Chinese but we ran out of time for the rest, a week is not long enough. The kids enjoyed the inflatable sofa - water buggies and the highlight was their evening spin round the resort in the segways. The adjoining rooms are brilliant for the family - was like a suite all to ourselves. We will definitely look at going next year. spotlessly clean... lots of staff

Room Tip: adjoining rooms for families great

Everything about this hotel is perfect for a relaxing holiday. Excellent standards maintained in every aspect. Great food with a huge amount of choice. Staff very friendly. Our room was very comfortable but I would say that the minibar was disappointing in as much as it consisted of 2 beers and 5 cans of fizzy juice. Bars are very good although the pianist in the Piano Bar whilst skilled in his craft could do with playing slightly cheerier tunes! Ahmet in the Rouge Bar creates a great ambience which made this our bar of choice. All in all, an ideal hotel.
