“dalayan 3 activity trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2013

Ken - the Guide was absolutely great. very knowledgeably and funny during the day, with great English. We took our 2 children age 7 and 4 on the all day trip, First stop was mud baths, Mud baths were very very smelly..sulphar (rotten eggs) it really made eyes water and we were the first groups to arrive in the morning, the guide joked you wouldn't want to be the last group of the day (you really wouldn't) . Then after the mud..that some people really seemed to enjoy, was freezing!!! cold shower, then in to a small thermal pool which had around 50 people in..this is around 1.50cm deep and makes it hard to stand if under 5ft 8, I had to try and hold my 2 children to get them warm from the shower. Then it was a very pleasant little cruise down canal to lake. looking out for birds and terrapins, this was good. Then to lunch which was included in the price of the day excursion which £50 for the 4 of us.- would have been closer to £100 if booked at hotel..watch out for that one.... book in Sarigerme!!! 5 mins from hotel only in taxi - £3 to get to.
Then Turtle watching which was great, had couple of turtles putting on a show, all kids able to sit on front of boats, our children's loved it. Locals feeding the Turtles large crabs, There for around 45 mins. then to turtle beach, brilliant beach & very safe, low water level and not as pebbly as many of the local beaches.
As we headed back on the Boat we had chance to purchase a whole cooked crab from the local fishermen for £3.00 that was great, my 7 year old loved it, he had never eaten crab like that. definitely recommend that to everyone!!! there was pomegranate and fruit to eat on the way back at no charge, again my children loved this. Great trip, with very good guide. can be done in half a day without the nature watching which would be worth doing.. the mud baths might be advised in summer when generally warmer, but take the nose clips.

“Best tour company I've used”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2013

Just back from Sarigerme and have to leave a review to say thanks to Basket - and especially Ken, our brilliant guide.

We did the twelve island boat trip - cruising, swimming, snorkeling and jumping off the boat in beautiful bays and crystal clear water - which was the best day of the holiday for me, and the Dalyan mud baths/cruise/turtle beach day, as a group of nine (four adults and kids from seven to twelve) and would happily go back tomorrow and do both again.

Basket are incredibly helpful and friendly but also professional in everything they do and I can't fault any aspect of what was provided.

Value for money is outstanding, even without taking into account that they're 40% cheaper than First Choice (Dalyan day £20 per adult rather than £32) and don't take you to any enforced shopping opportunities along the way.

If you're going to Sarigerme don't look any further and say "Hi" to Ken for us.

“Loved Basket travel and Ken the tour guide”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2013

I can highly recommend basket travel. We stayed in Turkey between 10th October and 17th October 2013. We had originally booked to go on the three tours on the Monday but as my daughter was poorly we had to cancel and re-book for the Wednesday which was no problem for Basket Travel. It cost us £100 for 4 adults, 2 children 10 and 7 and 2 children under 4. It was worth the money and a lot better priced than Thomson. Ken was very informative and funny, I feel this trip was made even better by him as the tour guide. I learnt so much from him and loved the love story connected with the tombs. Nothing felt rushed even though we were fitting in 3 things in 1 day. Everything about the day was brilliant, the mud baths, turtles, food, boat ride, beach and Ken. If we returned to Sarigerme we would defiantly use Basket travel again. Thank you so much for a lovely day out.

“Fantastic day trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2013

Having read about this company before going on holiday we decided to use them rather than our tour operator. So glad we did. We did the 3 in 1 trip - mud baths, tombs and turtle beach, Our guide Ken was hilarious. He was extremely knowledgeable without being boring. Managed to keep our kids amused all day. They picked us up on time and even though we had a lot to cover we never felt rushed. The price difference was quite substantial. We didn't go to any markets where we may have felt obliged to buy. There was snacks and drinks onboard and the prices were very reasonable. Would definitely advise anyone to check this company out before booking trips.

“Best day of our holiday! ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 October 2013 via mobile

I cannot recommend Basket Travel enough! Firstly from our chat with them in the village, no pressure selling just advice on which trip would suit our family best, to the whole trip itself.
The clean air conditioned coach picked us up 9am from outside our hotel, and we were greeted by our guide for the day, Ken.
Ken was the icing on the cake, he was funny, intelligent and full of interesting information about Turkey.
We did the 3 in 1 trip, which was firstly a boat trip to the Mud Baths, this was great fun, and the thermal spa very relaxing! Be warned the mud stinks but your nose gets used to it after a few minutes! Back aboard the boat we set off seeing the lakes of koycegiz, this was picturesque and relaxing. Ken pointed out terrapins basking in the sun before heading back to Dalyan for lunch.
The restaurant location was on the waters edge and literally right opposite the Ancient Tombs, it couldn't have been better! Lunch itself was great, a lovely salad bar to start followed by either chicken or fish for main. Drinks were reasonably priced and my glass of white wine was crisp and cold!
After lunch we headed closer to the tombs for photos, and then out on the boat further to see the loggerhead turtles, this was amazing! Especially if you have animal loving children; our 9 year old son loved it!
We were also shown a blue crab which Ken held round our sons neck :-) Ken arranged with the fisherman to catch & cook the crabs, which were waiting for us after our stop off at the beach. The crabs were only £3 each, and delicious!!!!
Turtle beach was beautiful, and the sea calm & warm. Sunbeds here are extra cost but we just flopped on our towels at the waters edge!
After 1 hour 45 mins relaxing on the beach it was time to re board the boat back to Dalyan and eat our freshly cooked crab!
Ken answered questions, made us laugh, chatted and passed on his knowledge throughout the entire day, nothing was too much trouble. He is an asset to Basket Travel!
The trip cost our family of three £50 (drinks extra but so cheap), whereas if we had booked it with our holiday company it would have cost so much more, and I bet we wouldn't have got a guide as great as Ken!
Thank you Basket Travel for making our trip so memorable!!
