Ken - the Guide was absolutely great. very knowledgeably and funny during the day, with great English. We took our 2 children age 7 and 4 on the all day trip, First stop was mud baths, Mud baths were very very smelly..sulphar (rotten eggs) it really made eyes water and we were the first groups to arrive in the morning, the guide joked you wouldn't want to be the last group of the day (you really wouldn't) . Then after the mud..that some people really seemed to enjoy, was freezing!!! cold shower, then in to a small thermal pool which had around 50 people in..this is around 1.50cm deep and makes it hard to stand if under 5ft 8, I had to try and hold my 2 children to get them warm from the shower. Then it was a very pleasant little cruise down canal to lake. looking out for birds and terrapins, this was good. Then to lunch which was included in the price of the day excursion which £50 for the 4 of us.- would have been closer to £100 if booked at hotel..watch out for that one.... book in Sarigerme!!! 5 mins from hotel only in taxi - £3 to get to.
Then Turtle watching which was great, had couple of turtles putting on a show, all kids able to sit on front of boats, our children's loved it. Locals feeding the Turtles large crabs, There for around 45 mins. then to turtle beach, brilliant beach & very safe, low water level and not as pebbly as many of the local beaches.
As we headed back on the Boat we had chance to purchase a whole cooked crab from the local fishermen for £3.00 that was great, my 7 year old loved it, he had never eaten crab like that. definitely recommend that to everyone!!! there was pomegranate and fruit to eat on the way back at no charge, again my children loved this. Great trip, with very good guide. can be done in half a day without the nature watching which would be worth doing.. the mud baths might be advised in summer when generally warmer, but take the nose clips.
