“Another great holiday here :-)”
Reviewed 29 August 2014 via mobile

We returned from the holiday village this morning, having been previously in 2012. We loved it then and it has been refurbished and improved since then-and we will go back again!!

We were here for two weeks, 14th-28th August and it was once again wonderful. We travelled as a family of 5, including 2 children aged 7 & 12. They both took part in the kids clubs and also in Razzamatazz stage school-both great ways of keeping the children out of the sun whilst still being entertained!! Yes-there was a charge of £35 for this, but Vikki & Peter were just fantastic and the confidence it gave my girls-it was money well spent!! To see the children perform on stage in the amphitheatre was just great.

The rooms have been very nicely refurbished since our last visit here-we were very impressed by the standard. We had a family room, the 5th bed was a pull out bed-space was somewhat limited but as I don't go on holiday to spend all my days in the room it suited our needs perfectly.

The restaurant continually impressed with the range and quality of food served, this time there was the addition of a carvery in the main restaurant-serving each day a great selection of fresh fish, steak, beef stroganoff, chicken curry, lamb shank and cray fish to name but a few of the meals we ate. Also, great choices of salads, meats and cheeses, Anyone that says it's repetitive is making it that way through their own choice-I didn't eat the same meal twice during my stay. The restaurant staff work tirelessly to keep tables clean, drinks topped up and plates cleared away-a thank you goes a very long way-some people forget this!!

We did a couple of trips while we were there-however we booked the Dalyan Mud Bath and Turtle Watching trip, Dalyan by night and the Eco Adventure through Basket Tours in Sarigerme village. They offer excellent value for money and lots of information about the surrounding areas that I've not heard before from First Choice reps. Also, if you are travelling with a 12 yr old, Basket Tours charge them as half price (First Choice charge them as adults ???) our guide was Ken-just fantastic-he was so knowledgable about the area, and told us so many interesting facts about Turkey and I would thoroughly recommend that you book through them. They all speak fantastic English and you don't pay until you have been on the trip-if you're not happy you don't pay!! We did do Captain Popcorn with First Choice as we had heard such good reviews about it-it was good but even though it was all inclusive once on board the boat-I do feel it was over priced-my 12 yr old was charged as an adult-but she can't go to the bar for a beer?!?! It cost £165 approx for 5 of us, not something I would book again considering the price.

We were not aware of any swimming pool closures during our stay, we stayed round the main pool-yep, unfortunately the sunbed brigade are out in force. We witnessed one argument over a moved sunbed on the front row-but especially in our 2nd week it was a bit quieter and you could still quite easily get sunbeds later in the day, even if it was on the grass area behind the main pool.

The pancake lady is amazing, she works so hard in the hut-where it is quite often unbearably hot-again a thank you goes a very long way!! Some people seem to forget that when they are on holiday!! And the pancakes are the most delicious you will ever taste :-)

During our stay, my eldest daughter was taken ill with an ear infection. We took her to the doctor where they spoke perfect English, they transferred her across to the hotel next door where she stayed for 2-3 hours and received antibiotics intravenously, she was given medicine and ear drops as well. They made sure she was aware of what was going on at all times, and then gave her ear plugs to wear in the water. I was very impressed with their speed of service, and how we were dealt with, I can't fault them at all.

The entertainment team work very hard, Terry really stood out for us-a fantastic character :-) Also working hard is all of the hotel staff, from waiters to cleaners. They always have a smile and a good morning for you. Nothing is too much trouble.

In summary, we have had another fantastic holiday at the Holiday Village. We will certainly be returning for a third time-this place allows parents to relax whilst the kids are kept fully entertained!! What more can you ask for?!

We travelled stayed between 19th - 27th Aug 2014.
Firstly i must say u was worried about the pool closures, so this was the first thing i asked about in the welcome meeting, i was informed it had been 10 days without any closures we stayed 7 nights without any, which goes to show its more the type of people out there rather than the location. Very clean Complex staff always working to keep standards high. Rooms were perfect. Wide variety of food breakfast lunch and evening meals, everything from local cuisine to home favourites. We were that impressed with the food variety we only used 1/3 al a carte restaurants. Entertainment good for under 10's but we found most kids above that age in the chill out bar in the evening "raving" located away from the hotel closer the beach.
Only bad point i have is Spa staff are very pushy and dont take no easily, tourists should be left to make there own decisions how they spend there holiday not have to hide away from pushy locals Very impressive from the rest of Hotel staff and first choice reps. We will definitely be re - booking.

We stayed for 1 week on 18th-25th August..check in at hotel was quite quick after 25 min transfer and luggage was taken to room for you quickly. On the transfer bus the first choice rep will try to sell you mosquito bands which we didn't bother.....better to take some spray! We arrived at 10pm to hotel and there was lots of hot food at 11.30pm which really pleasantly surprised us given it was late! Most staff were very friendly throughout our weeks stay and the all inclusive drinks on offer were not that bad..i thought the local effes beer was ok and i mostly had that during our stay.....at least they served you with a smile unlike some bars in uk!! Happy to report no pool closures during our stay and we even preferred a couple of times to be by the suite pools which are a lot quieter. I did get up early at 5.30am to get a sunbed by the main pool but it was lovely to watch the sunrise but clearly there was a lot of towels just left there from the night before which is a bit silly of people. I found the water slides a bit of an anti-climax and even got a bit stuck on a couple as not fast flowing enough. It is true that this place is spotless and staff are always working on the lovely gardens or clearing tables and glasses..even as you finish your mouthful!! Hotel shops are more expensive than town shops..avoid the hairdresser as not great and we were charged 55 lira for a child! The Spa staff are indeed pushy around the pool trying to book you a session..i basically told him to write his deal on the leaflet and go away and i would visit the spa later...we did and we had a great spa package for £90 for 2 adults and 2 kids which was relaxing and fun....the honey massage was great and the fishfeet was different!. We only did the captain popcorn excursion trip which we left a bit late to book so we went with first choice as convenient...it was a good day out meeting others and they do well entertaining the kids on the boat...jumping from the boat to swim in the sea with the kids was awesome! On the excursion i did speak to people who used basket travel in the town who are much cheaper tho. We visited the market/town on a couple of occasions i.e. as no cashpoint in hotel....we did find it funny how they try to drag you in and shove clothes at you and dress the kids! we did get some bargains on the clothes tho...but don't buy the fags unless you like good fake one's! and the perfume might be better to buy duty free as well for a few quid more! Taxi from hotel is 15 lira one way. Entertainment at the hotel was ok but not great...the speciality acrobat act was good on the last night but otherwise the entertainment didn't set the world on fire! We booked a suite for the accommodation..very nice indeed, brilliant air con (needed in 40 degree heat!), and good facilities such as free safe and fridge as well as jacuzzi bath and even sky sports on the tv...only had to swap the room keycards a few times as kept not working! We did have some ants in the bathroom but housekeeping came on two occasions within an hour to spray them. Rooms cleaned everyday except weds and was always cleaned during daytime rather than 5pm-ish for us. The food became a little repetitive after day 3/4 but was plenty there to eat and with the snack bar and delicious pancakes there was no excuse for not eating! We liked all the cats around...a nice touch to see cats at home in the holiday village. The free Ice creams are a waste of time in 40 degrees..its true that they melt as soon as placed in your hand! In the end i avoided the cone and asked them to put ice cream on a plate with my pancake i had just got!! I do find it odd how 90% of the guests here are british yet there are still some staff who don't speak or understand english...it was difficult to get what you wanted when this happened...i asked one lady working in the snack bar for a fork as they had cleared it all away by 5pm and i ended up getting lemon juice!! But overall all the staff are friendly and work incredibly hard i.e. pancake lady. First choice reps were ok for queries and were always about...there is also guest relations desk in lobby if you do have any issues to sort. Kids Club was good and kids enjoyed parties but parents do have to stay on site and you tell them where you will be (can understand this though)but restricts you a bit. We tried the turkish and italian a la carte restaurants...you do have to pre book meal choices....turkish one was fantastic, but italian was not good at all. Overall this is a great large all inclusive hotel for all the family and would consider it if we ever returned to Turkey again in future.

First of all: the positive things, and they are many. The hotel is big and clean with very nice rooms. There are many different pools, the garden area is beautiful and the hotel lies close to the beach.

There are a lot of activities for all ages, but we only tried the archery. (Our children would probably have been members of the different clubs if there were clubs with Scandinavian speaking leaders and members.) The spa is beautiful. I tried only tried the fish treatment, so I can't say anything about the other treatments there.

During our stay, August 12-19, the hotel was full of guests - mainly Brits. But almost all guests were families with children and everyone was very polite, so there was never any noise late at night etc.

The food was surprisingly good. I'm a vegetarian so I was prepared for eating fries and veggies the whole week, but I had quite a lot to choose from. The meat eaters in our family also liked the food. The main restaurant is very noisy, so we chose to sit outdoors when we ate dinner. We never tried any of the other restaurants since the booking was a bit complicated.

The children loved the pancake house, which is an absolute must. Don't forget to tip the amazing pancake lady!

The beach was good. We liked the high waves, but of course you have to be careful in those waters. There were never any lifeguards on duty at the beach during our stay.

A lot of people have written about pool closure here, but it only happened one time during our week, so it didn't really affect us.

The cleaning is excellent everywhere. The whole place is very clean, and thanks to the late cleaning of the rooms we were able to keep our room until 6 p.m. the last day. This cost a little extra, but was worth it.

Now to the negative part. We were nine people travelling together (two families). The day before departure four out of nine had stomach pains and diarrhoea. One of us had a fever and had to visit the doctor. This person suffered from these problems for a whole week after coming home. This probably had something to do with the food or drinks, and I'm sure more guests must have experienced the same symptoms when almost half of our group had it.

Thank you for posting your review on Trip Advisor. We are happy to read that you liked the rooms, the pools and the garden. We have been experiencing very high temperatures in the region during the month of August and some guests are affected by this. Any illness reported to us is monitored very carefully. Thank you for mentioning the high levels of cleanliness throughout the hotel, our staff work very hard to keep everywhere clean.

This is our first visit to a holiday village and have to say was a little nervous prior to arrival due to negative reviews! We have stayed all inclusive many time as a family it's very easy to accommodate a different age groups needs.

The rooms are very nice and clean as is the whole resort. You cannot fault the dinning rooms and quality/choice of food, something for everyone.

The hotel staff are very helpful, and the reps are very entertaining and work very hard.

Plenty of activities if you want to get involved but not pushed on you if you want to relax.

A word of waning the Spa people are quite relentless in trying to sign you up be firm if your not interested.

The local town was dismissed by reps in the meeting as being small and not a lot there however don't listen!!!! We went as hotel doesn't have a cash machine and found their was many shops alot cheaper than hotel prices. There were lots of bars and restaurants with friendly local people who are very welcoming! Definitely worth a visit.

Came for a holiday here in April. The hotel was amazing and the staff very nice and helpful. The food was excellent and so much choice. At lunch time you could even get your food outside and eat by the pool as there was a restaurant and bar outside. The hotel is very family orientated and reps kept children amused at all times. The hotel is in an isolated place and not much to do outside of it. Unless you take part in day trips. The mud bath trip was lovely. The hotel made everything very easy and was organised really well. There were a selection if shops on site so no need to go out. Although you could use euro, Turkish lira and English pounds. We really only needed English money with us as I think they preferred it. The whole hotel and rooms were spotless and dedicated staff. If you are looking for a relaxing pool holiday with family this is the place.

This is our last day at HV Turkey and I have to confess to being a self confessed holiday snob. This means this hotel has had to work really hard to impress and the staff here have done just that.

Arrival
Really well organised both at airport and at hotel. Reception were quick and efficient with a swift transition to our suite room. Bags were delivered to our rooms a short while later.

Room
We stayed in the newly refurbished suite rooms which were beautiful. Very modern, clean and funky. Loads of space for storage with maid service 6 times a week. One of the nicest rooms we have stayed in. Bathrooms are clean with Jacuzzi baths. The speed at which this hotel correct any minor quibbles is impressive. Our maid one day turned up at 5.30pm, I asked for an early clean following this and the hotel have delivered. One of the wall lights was coming loose in the room it was fixed within a matter of hours. The suite rooms come with their own pools which saves you from the complete nightmare that is the main pool.

Pools
It isn't the hotel that let's this area down, they work tirelessly to keep them immaculately clean. There are 7 pools and so this is no easy task. Pools are amazing but the 5am start that other guests do to reserve their sunbeds is unnecessary. If you want a bed that's what you have to do. My husband has got up every day at 7am and nearly all the beds have gone. If you want a bed by the main pool then join the 5am crew. It's the guests who spoil this and create this madness. The hotel however needs to enforce it's no sun bed reservation till 8am. It doesn't, despite the signs. One guest told me people go out and sleep on sunbeds from 5am???

Food
Simply outstanding, the sheer number of people who are catered for is just immense. This is a huge hotel and to deliver the standard of food for the quantity of people is hugely impressive. You can eat at the al la carte restaurants with no issues on booking in. I have to say the service in these restaurants is excellent and all the staff should be commended.

Lunch can be very busy so go early or go late, avoid 1 - 2. Beach bar does toastie's and chips and there is a pancake house so if you can't be bothered with the masses head off there. Simple but does the job.

Kids Club
Exceptionally well organised with a fabulous team of people who really take the time to get to know your kids. There are A LOT of children in this hotel and the kids club reps take the time to remember your kids names send get to know them. Probably the thing that impressed me the most and they work so hard.

Gym
It opens at 9am needs to open earlier

Spa
Well worth a visit, we had a family spa day which was just brilliant, really enjoyed it and well worth the money. Would highly recommend.

Entertainment
There is always something going on and it's your choice to participate or not, it is no hassle. Kids entertainment of a night is ok but the Ampitheatre is too hot and too uncomfortable to spend hours there every night. The Loose Chippings and the Widgets are good for the little ones but the 9pm onwards is a little cringe worthy. The pool bar has a good host with quizzes but they do stress it's aimed at the adults. Bit spoilt on this coming from two previous year at Sensatori where the entertainment was outstanding.

Trips
Captain Popcorns Cruise was great for the kids as was the trip to the market. Go to the main public beech on the Olu Deniz trip, the blue lagoon wasn't that impressive.

Overall
Can't fault the hotel or it's staff who are the main credit to the HV. They work so hard and it would be nice of our fellow Brits to appreciate that at times. The hotel is huge and if you prefer something less busier then this hotel is not for you, however as a family every need is catered for. I would avoid the first two weeks of August we arrived at the end of these two weeks and it was just too busy. I imagine this hotel is simply outstanding when it's a little quieter and I don't think I have seen it at it's very best due to how busy it is.
