We booked the Alinn about six months ago on the strength of good Trip Advisor feedback. Due to go out on 23 September for two weeks, we checked the reviews about a week before departure. They were so bad that we tried to get First Choice to make a change, but of course, they would not do so - it was too late! Anyway, we went with great trepidation, and booked in to an attractive area, were given keys to our room, and while waiting for the lift got speaking to a couple who were booking out. They put our mind at ease, saying that the problems with the food had been addressed. Whew!
Here is our take on the hotel:
Location: Spectacular views all round, especially from the Panorama Bar. Red squirrels in the trees, along with Blue Jays and other lovely little birds. A beautiful rural location.
A free bus service take you to the beach via the village of Sarigerme. Taxis cost about 10 TL each way to the village (about £3 currently). Not a lot there if you've been to many places in Turkey, but nice enough.
Rooms: Clean and adequate, but tiny balconies (but to be honest, there are so many lovely spots in the fantastic grounds - the garden is a delight - the balcony size is not a problem.
Staff: every member of staff we dealt with was terrific. Charlotte, Fabio, Ibrahim and...We booked the Alinn about six months ago on the strength of good Trip Advisor feedback. Food: We always could find something to enjoy. The soups, the salads and meze were excellent, and the deserts were beautifully presented. Plenty of fresh fruit available too. Sadly, no ice cream was available, even to buy. We sometimes struggled with the main courses, which were a bit bland, but we could always opt for pasta or beautiful flat bread as an alternative.
Atmosphere: This is a quiet hotel, ideal for recharging your batteries, but if you are looking for lively entertainment and night life, forget this one! Some gentle live music would have been nice.
The bars serve local spirits and beer (the beer is served from large bottles, so could sometimes be a bit flat) in proper glasses.
This hotel is currently not 4 star, but with some effort on the part of management and a little investment, it could be great.
Would we go back? Probably not, but we'll keep an eye on Trip Advisor, and who knows?More
