The bus transfer does take a long time, so if possible hire a car, but when you get there the hotel is of a very good standard and when we arrived late in the evening (after the food serving had finished) the staff put on some food for us. We did not have a problem with the food being cold and found that there was a good variety. The hotel staff were very friendly and in contrast to other reviewers we did not find that the animation events were German orientated and the animation team spoke many languages and worked hard to include all the guests in the activities. There is not much in the surrounding area outside of the hotel, so this is a resort more for those wanting a quiet hotel based break, but there is a pretty resort called Morro Jable with several shops, bars and restaurants only about 20 minutes away by bus.
The view of the beach from the hotel pools is stunning; the two pools are cold but refreshing after sunbathing and a decent size. If you want a warmer swim there is a good sized indoor pool and I enjoyed using the sauna and thankfully there were no naked people and signs prohibiting this, so this must have changed since previous reviewers commented about this! The sauna is only open from 4-8pm at night however, so if you have a cold or rainy day you have to wait till evening to use it. The beach is down a steep walk, but there are steps on a parallel path that might be easier for people with walking difficulties. The view whilst walking down to the beach is impressive and the chipmunks that you can feed on the way are very tame and cute. Although there were many nudists on the beach, they did not bother us and as two females felt safe on the beach.
There are only two things that stopped me giving this hotel full marks, firstly unlike other all inclusive resorts I've visited, there is lack of food in the afternoon in between meals, for example the snack bar is only open 4-5, so if you miss that then you have a long wait until dinner at 7pm. Similarly there is no food available in a late night snack bar, however this seems similar to other European All Inclusive resorts I've visited.
Secondly, it would help to have more water containers dotted around the resort as when the bar is shut (where you can fill your water bottle), you have to do this from the canteen and I felt slightly awkward doing this after was told off by a guest while filling up my water bottle. However I continued to do this for our week stay, as I don't drink much alcohol and consider free water a basic whilst on an all inclusive deal and refused to pay for a bottle of water from reception.
