“Some good and some bad”

I came here as part of a large group of around 400 for my husband's annual company trip. I don't like to complain too much given that this was a free trip, but there are a couple issues that need to be addressed. First, we were given a room with two double beds. We were in a big group so we had to wait a day to get our room changed to a king room, so no problem there. We were moved from building 55 (second floor) to a ground floor room in 51. The bed felt as if it had a pillow top mattress, which is rare at this resort and in Mexico in general. However, our room was infested with Mosquitos because it was so damp. They were just everywhere and I could see they really loved our damp patio. We had the room fumigated twice and this still did not solve the mosquito issue. I could also see where previous guests squished them on the walls in a few places...gross. I didn't want to keep complaining so I stuck it out in that room for the next three days.

Another issue was with the drinks. They were just not that good, even with premium alcohol. I believe the mixes were just off, especially that neon pink daquari mix they use. The drinks I enjoyed most were the Zombies and Mai Tai's (non frozen varieties). The best alcohol can be found in the lobby bars and in the night club and though we tipped on occasion, we were never denied premium alcohol when we asked.

As everyone mentions, the grounds are clean and beautiful and the beach is spacious. The pools were nice, but cold thanks to the weather.

The employees were the best. We saw the same people doing everything from early morning beach activities, to the nightly shows to the after hours entertainment. These people work really hard and always have a smile on their faces.

The food was pretty decent. We ate at the steakhouse (above average for AI), the gourmet (just okay) and the Japanese ( also just okay and can take a long time to get your food). The buffet in the morning was great. They have a variety of juices and foods. The lunch buffets were good as well. We never made it to a dinner buffet.

I might consider giving this place a second chance, but after walking the property of the Grand, I would really prefer to stay there. Their pool felt like bath water and the hot tubs were warm and bubbly.

In regard to your comment about our beverages, we are sorry we did not meet your expectations. Please note that quality controls are continuously done and with the amount of guests we have every day, there is a lot of rotation of bottles of liquour used. However please let us inform our Food & Beverages Manager to look into this.

As for your comment about the mosquitoes, we feel your discomfort. Your comments will be reviewed with our maintenance team to solve the problem.

We hope that you give us the opportunity of serving you at our resort again either at our Paraiso Lindo or any of our sister resorts. Thank you for giving us your point of view.

The Iberostar Lindo was wonderful! We only had one issue. It was with the Lomas Travel agency, which is not necessarily the Lindo's fault, but thought it might be helpful info for others. We made reservations with the Lomas rep to go to Xel-ha on Thursday. He wrote up a receipt with the pick-up date/time and proof of our payment. We had to be up and out early to catch the shuttle at 7:30am....we waited....7:45 rolls around, then 8am, then 8:15...no shuttle. Only to find out that he never actually made the reservation! Not only did we have to wake up early, but spent a good hour and a half trying to straighten things out with the other reps. We made a new reservation and ended up going another day. So make sure the reservation is actually made!

Everything else was fabulous! We traveled the week of Oct. 27th, 2013. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and accommodating, from the lobby registration, to the wait staff, the housekeeping, the concierge, the show performers, EVERYONE! The hotel grounds were beautiful! The pools were great! Our room overlooked the pool and that large waterfall pyramid. The food was great-always a large selection at the buffets. We were able to make reservations each evening for dinner at a variety of the restaurants. Our favorites were the Steakhouse and the Japanese Hibachi restaurant. The beach was amazing with that turquoise blue color. We ended up having the photo shop at the hotel take our pictures on the beach--that was a lot of fun, especially because we haven't really had any professional photos taken of us since our wedding, more than 7 years ago. Thank you, Iberostar. I hope we are able to return again!

February of this year we stayed at the Lindo for our 9th visit to a Iberostar resort. They made us feel so good it created a burning desire to return. We put out the fire by returning October 28th for another week of pleasure.Starting with our greeting from the bellman to checkout 1 week later it all went smooth as glass.It would take to long to mention all the employees by name. So we call all of them Iberostars.Everyone of them weren't just envolved but they were commited to insuring we had a wonderful vacation. We weren't drugged it was the "Iberostars" that put us on a high.
The difference between involvement and commitment.
Its like an eggs and ham breakfast.
The chicken was envolved the pig was commited.
Thank you Iberostars team for making our week wondeful.
Santa Claus is watching.

Myself/wife and our 4 boys ranging from 4-18 years old went at the end of August. Two months later the whole family is still asking when they can go back. It was perfectly suited for all age ranges and had more than enough activities to keep everyone busy.

It was great the way the 4 hotels are essentially linked together. Depending on which one you are actually staying at, it affords you the opportunity to stay "downclass" at the other restaurants or pools. But frankly, they are all great and closely on par with one another.

The shows were all very good, granted not Las Vegas quality, but certainly entertaining enough for everyone. Again, everyone from the 4 year old to myself had their interest kept watching.

Food was good...not great......but certainly enough of a variety to change things up enough.

Myself and my wife even ventured to the nightclub one night, and found it entertaining enough for the little bit of time we were there. There's also kids danceclubs...

All in all....highly recommend.

We stayed at the Iberostar Lindo Oct 29 thru Nov 4. What a beautiful hotel. The beach was relaxing & the pool is great!! The lazy river didn't work but we pushed our way around :). The pool bar & beach bar were fun. The only disappointment was the temperature of the shower in our room. Lukewarm at best on some days. The best part of our stay was our beach wedding. Lily & the staff did a fantastic job!! The minister was wonderful & made our day one to never forget. The front desk & concierge are very helpful. Would recommend this hotel to stay.

My husband and I just returned last night from a wonderful stay at the Lindo, November 9th -13th. And as many, I read all the reviews I could just to prepare us for our adventure. This was our first all inclusive trip any where, and was well worth it!

The food was actually really good! The main buffet everything was hot, and the smaller buffet everything was just warm, but good. We ate at the Japanese and Mediterranean restaurant and both were amazing. Steak was a little tough, but we didn't care. The flavor was great and we were plenty full!

We actually reserved a room and didn't get what we asked for, so they upgraded us to a suite in block 51-RM 5126. It was great! The beds were comfy, so I'm not sure what the bad reviews were about. The room service was spectacular! We had everything we wanted and then some! Always had a clean room, a couple cute towel characters a day, turn down service at night (not that we would have cared). Definitely tipped her well- she worked hard and it was worth it! We just always put what we needed on our night stand and she left it for us. Never had a phone that worked, but our concierge was right outside the room all the time and never needed one! She was also amazing!

The beach was beautiful. Never had calm waters and there are a lot of rocks, but follow the crowd, chances are they are right where you need to be! Best place to swim was right out from the life guard to the right. No rocks and plenty of waves made for great fun!

The star friends are really nice, but do tend to favor the young girls in bikini's. Not sure that was the way to go, because my husband and I are older and love to have fun ourselves. So that was probably my biggest let down as far as all the raving reviews on them. They do work hard and give us entertainment for the day....We split our days from the pool to the beach. Lots of fun!

The shows at night were really good, but could not make it up for the disco. They start at 8:30pm with awards and stuff, but the real shows start at 9:30 and that felt late for how tired we were from the beach!

We did do the day trip to Iberostar Tucan Quetzal and it was absolutely amazing to! No trouble with checking in or getting there. Took the shuttle to Playa Del Carmen and then a taxi over. We had a blast and the star friends kept us involved all afternoon. The beach was beautiful, and for some reason calmer.

Over all it was just amazing, and we couldn't be happier! Will definitely return to the Lindo and can't wait! Thank you all for making it so special for our first time!

My wife and I along with our daughter and a friend took this trip to the Lindo in mid-October. We really enjoyed the trip and this is our 4th or 5th trip to the Iberostar paradiso complex. There were some minor issues, for instance the lazy river was not operating during our stay. The food was as usual quite good. The beach is gorgeous and the offerings at the beach buffet were better than on previous trips. As we were not in the busy season not all restaurants were open and we did have some small problems with dinner reservations. We slept comfortably and the room was very nice. The service was wonderful and friendly and I did not to use my limited Spanish. The water is safe to drink and never gave our yankee tummies any problems. The other guests were friendly and we met people from all over the US, Canada and England. My wife loves to paint ceramics on the beach and the massage while pricey was wonderful. There is always plenty to do at no extra cost. The nightly shows are not bad. But I do get tired of "welcome to the big show" every night on every trip. In all we really like the Iberostar and will likely return in the future.

Room Tip: Pick a room in buildings53, 54, 55 so everything is not a long hike.
