From Ciara and Chris Butler, Leeds West Yorkshire.
Myself and my new husband went to the El Dorado Royale for 2 weeks from 1st Novermber 2010 and got back Sunday.
Upon reading a few dodgy reviews on Trip Advisor, mainly from people that wouldn't know a perfect hotel if it bit them in the behind, I was somewhat nervous about our visit. I thought it would be a massive complex, with no way of ever being able to find our way around it, and stressing about getting booked into one of the many restaurants for our evening meal. I was worried that the atmosphere would be stuck up and that we would be treated differently because we were only staying in the Royale part and not the Casitas (which is a seperate part of the complex, more expensive)
How wrong I was!
Upon arriving into the lobby we were greeted by the most polite and professional hotel staff I have ever come across. We were offered a glass of champagne, and were told to take a seat, while our porter came to collect us. We were then taken to our room on a gold buggy (it looked like one of the austin powers cars!) and our bags were carried up to our room for us.
The room was the lowest in the hotel (Junior Jacuzzi Suite) but it was still gorgeous. Spacious, very clean (very, very clean) lovely big bed,...From Ciara and Chris Butler, Leeds West Yorkshire.

The room was the lowest in the hotel (Junior Jacuzzi Suite) but it was still gorgeous. Spacious, very clean (very, very clean) lovely big bed, refreshments in the all inclusive fridge, full 24 hour room service, maid that cleaned the room twice a day and replenished towels etc.
The hotel itself, along with the beach, pools, bars is phenomenal. Yes, there were huge sand bags in the sea which were there to create false coral reefs. The beach was stunning, completely clean and the sea was crystal clear blue. Everything was beautiful - just look at the photos on the website, it is really like that!!!
The best part of this hotel was the staff. In every restaurant the staff were outstanding - I can't fault them. The food if also AMAZING, I ate so much on holiday I felt sick because I couldn't stop! The best restaurant was the Kampai I thought, but only because I loved their spicy chicken curry. All the other restaurants were amazing as well, me and my husband tried them all.
I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat. Don't be put off by any of the reviews that may be bad, because both myself and my husband had the best time of our lives.
Hope you have a great time!
