“lovely place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2011

but don't do in the first week of May as the season is just starting. The gym is fantastic, or will be when open, they were just cleaning and renovating. The indoor pool was not ready either. Tennis, you will be charged during the day even though it says floodlight charges only. On the other hand because there were only 28 of us there the attention from staff was brill. This is indeed a lovely place and worth the five stars even though food choice could have been a little better. Getting around is fine and the bus into Kos town is every 20 minutes from the main road, about five min walk. Rooms kept extremely clean on a daily basis and enough space around swimming pool. They were just getting the beach part ready. All rooms have a seal view and I think no-one would be disappointed by any room. All have good sized patio or balcony.

Zusammenfassung
- Kein 5 Sterne Hotel, vielleicht 3-4
- Leitung ist überfordert, keine Anzeichen von Gastfreundschaft
- Gepflegte Anlage mit schönen Pflanzen
- Essen und Service sind ok

Management

Very good property, maybe could better, but I understand it was the very end of season, beach is hard rocky... location is good; close to city (north) , and not far to a interesting place called Therma with natural hot springs flowing in to the sea (south)

Had a quick break here, five nights. In a quiet location, just one taverna nearby so you really are relying on the hotel for everything. Just 10 minutes from Kos Town on the bus though (8/9 euros by cab). Hotel itself is very nice, parts of it still not finished though. Rooms were okay, not much storage and only a few hangers but were cleaned well - fresh sheets and towels every day, and a good decent shower. However I have to say, with the exception of lovely Betty in the main bar and the lady on reception the staff were on the whole rude and surly. Greece won't pull itself out of its recession treating its tourists like this... Food was the usual all inclusive stuff - bland, tasteless. No fresh fruit juices at breakfast, horrid watered down stuff that defies description. Tables were slow to be cleared; a long wait for coffee which for some reason you are now allowed to pour yourself. Guests are mostly Germans and east Europeans - if you are British I would recommend giving this hotel a very wide berth. Do yourself a favour and book something else.

We knew this hotel was self certified as a 5 star , so we were expecting that to be a little generous but after reading previous reveiws of this hotel the week before we travelled, we were more than a little dubious. On arrival we were pleasantly suprised. The hotel is clean, spacious and finished to a high standard. The rooms are big, well equipped with fridge, TV, DVD ,hair dryer, air con, kettle, ours even had a jacuzzi bath and most have a sea view. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and sheets and towels changed daily.

The food was lovely, always fresh, and restocked regularly. It was a bit of a lottery as it wasn't labelled but no big deal.

The drinks were good also, the beer was excellent and the cocktails were usually good too.

The pool area is large, claen, spacious with plenty of beds and umbrellas, even when the hotel was full you never felt crowded. The grounds and gardens are also well kept.

There are a few things that need looking at, you have to buy your own drinking water from the shop (about 3 euros for 6, 1.5ltr bottles), last orders is 11pm, the health club still isn`t finished, the beach area needs attention, there could be more Greek food at mealtimes, there could also be more selection for the children too and the staff are a little overworked. The pool bar area could be better utilised as it closed at 6 when it had bueatiful views of the sea

This is a good hotel for a quiet family holiday. It didn't bother us but while we were there, we where one of only four families from the UK, We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to our friends. Once this hotel has established itself, it could become a real 5 star hotel.

Upon arrival, this is a beautiful hotel with lots of modern décor etc.. Rooms are nice and big and equipped with TV, DVD player, fridge etc., though in our room there didn't seem to be enough shelf space. Electricity in the room is operated by your key card, so when you are not in the room the air-con and the fridge go off, so don't leave anything perishable in there thinking it will be ok. There is no information in your room about facilities available, timetables, hotel rules etc and we only found out about these by word of mouth.
Diet/light drinks are not supplied, unless you count water, which is extremely inconvenient if you are a diabetic. We had to buy diet cola from the shop next door and take it in to the bar every night. I don't know why the hotel could not do this, as we heard over our stay that numerous people had been asking for lighter alternatives. Also the sugar supplement in the restaurant was old and like 'dust' so was no use at all.
The restaurant needs to label the food, as it was all down to guesswork when it came to picking what you were going to eat. Perhaps this would reduce the queues, as people had to go along a line looking in to each container, decide what it was and then decide whether they wanted it. There is not a lot of choice for children, even they grow tired of nuggets or fish fingers on a daily basis.
The animation team/entertainment staff are stretched, so find it hard to vary the daily routine. They also need extra equipment e.g. darts, face paints etc., but they have to fund these themselves, and since most if not all of them have not been paid, I don't know how this will happen. A lot of the night time entertainment lacks imagination, again this due to the team being stretched.
Serving staff can be rude and patronising, whilst others think it is their job to flirt with young girls who have just arrived, leaving others to work their bums off, and most importantly customers unhappy. In the evening there is 2 drink per person rule, meaning 1 person can only order 2 drinks, so if there are a 4/6 people together this means 2/3 separate visits to the bar, rejoining the queue each time.
The beach needs work as it is stony and unsuitable for small children.
We were disappointed by the lack of communication/information and customer service which should come hand in hand with being a 5* hotel. This hotel is in a beautiful location and hopefully will find it easy to overcome these issues and build up to being the 5* hotel it claims to be.

A lot of the previous reviews of this hotel have been quite negative and when reading them before our holiday we were quite apprehensive. However the hotel overall was quite acceptable and I feel some people forget that in many countries thier idea of 5* may greatly differ from 5* in the UK. The hotel itself is lovely and when it is totally completed with its spa and other finishing touches it will be a very attractive hotel with great facilities. The rooms are extremely comfortable but lacking in storage space. They were serviced every day with clean linen every day. The pool areas were kept beautiful, tidied at the end of each day and I also saw them mopping the tiled areas in the morning.
The food was good but not outstanding. It was clearly prepared freshly everyday but there was a real lack of variety. It became a joke by the second week amongst our family about what the 'stew surprise' would be that night! It was disappointing at the lack of proper greek food on the menu they seemed to just be trying to cater for the many nationalities staying at the hotel. It was also very disappointing that there was not, as stated on the hotel details, an ala carte restaurant which would probably help break up the monotony of stews on the buffet!!! The drinks on the inclusive were also a bit disappointing and undrinkable at times, avoid the cocktails they aren't properly done at all.
The staff on a whole were very friendly and helpful, a few a bit over worked like Tatiana who made the omlettes etc in the morn, she was very friendly and pleased if people just said 'please or thankyou', you'd be amazed how many didn't!!! Maria at the small pool bar was also extremely friendly and helpful.
On a whole we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and I think if small improvements were made it could be fantastic. Our only other warning is that during our stay in the first week we were the only british, in the second one of three families. The hotel is over run with eastern europeans, germans, italians and dutch the majority of whom had the most appalling manners, we were quite shocked at how rude they were especially to the staff.
And finally if you want to escape for food elsewhere we strongly reccommend the taverna opposite the hotel driveway, 'Nikkos and Kontessa'. Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere and the owner Nikkos is so nice and good with the kids, it is also very reasonably priced.
