“Worked out well”
Reviewed 13 July 2013

OK the first night wasn't great. We were shown to a room and advised not to unpack as we'd be moving room in the morning, which we duly did, but would rather not have to do. By way of compensation we got some fruit and a bottle of wine..........but it was all inclusive anyway........... Got better after that. Food and drinks were as good as could be expected given that it was a big hotel and big catering operation. Everything was clean and staff friendly. You had the usual issues of Brits (not Germans) booking sunbeds with towels and the usual plethora of shirts off, bellys on display Sun readers (yes they were reading The Sun). Fortunately the restaurant made them cover up. Makes me a bit embarrassed to be a Brit. That aside we hired a car and got out and about too.

We stayed at Kipriotis Maris Suites from 07-14 April.

Although we were under the impression when we booked the holiday that we would be in the Panorama Hotel, the initial disappointment was soon forgotten about.

The weather at the start of April was not great - We had 4 moderately good days of sunshine with intermittent cloud - the remaining days were very overcast and out last day nothing but thunderstorms.

We were very impressed with the rooms at the Maris Hotel section of the Kipriotis resort. The rooms were always spotless as was the rest of the hotel. We really liked the balcony area of our room - we had a great pool view and it was large and really nice to be able to sit outside in the morning/evening before breakfast/dinner. We especially liked the pool which was spotless (water a bit too cold for me at this time of year!). We also really liked the complimentary water in the fridge which was replaced everyday. The food was also very good and the Maris dining hall felt very private and undiscovered by the guests at the Hippocrates hotel. We also overheard several guests that were staying in the Hippocrates part of the resort say that the Maris dining hall standards and food were of a much higher quality. The actually dining area felt much more like a restaurant setting in comparison to the canteen style dining hall at Hippocrates. It was good that guests staying at Hippocrates/Maris could use facilities at both.

We especially enjoyed the wide selection of food and we never found it to be cold or repetitive. The quality of food was also very nice. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and we couldn't fault their attentiveness.

The entertainment at this time of year wasn't great, however we imagine once it gets into high season that the entertainment is much more regular/better selection etc.

We rented a car and also took the day trip to Bodrum which we very much enjoyed. The actual island of Kos is somewhat deserted at the start of April. We were actually told that The Hippocrates and Maris suites were 1 resort of only 2-3 opened on the whole island. Therefore it did seem quite eerie and a bit like a ghost town when we explored the island by car. That did not take away from the beauty of certain parts of the island.

Overall we had a great stay and for the price we paid this was an extremely impressive all inclusive resort that I would definitely recommend.

We have just come back from a 10 day stay. We didn't get off to the best of starts we arrived at the hotel at 1 am and was handed our keys and the gentleman on reception took us outside the hotel and pointed 'your over there'. At the bottom of our path was a group of lads that were clearly drunk and he let us walk through them in the dark when we reached the room which as on the ground floor the door (French doors) were open and we were unable to lock it form the outside and half locked it in the inside. I went back to reception and asked if we could be moved as it wasn't safe the reply was that he couldn't do anything it would be the day staff to deal with. We then went to reception the next day and told them we didn't feel safe in the room and could we move as the door was not locking we were told that we couldn't move as people who wanted balconies didn't have them and that someone would be along to fix the door. We went to reception a further two times that day to have an update they appeared not to care that our room was left open and that we were two young girls on our own. It took them another day and the rep to get involved for them to fix the door. This was all done by email and not by picking up the phone to chase anyone up. The hotel its self was lovely but the reception staff let the hotel down. there is nothing surrounding the hotel so if you wish to eat out or go for a drink other than the bar or the club attached to the hotel you would have to go to Kos Town. If you wish to go into Kos Town its 9 euros in a taxi. Bodrum in Turkey is worth a day trip and also we were recommended Paradise Beach which is on the other side of the Island. If you fancy a change from the hotel or going into Kos town there is an open air cinema just before you get into the town centre. Overall we had a decent holiday but just felt let down by the reception staff.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at this fantastic hotel. After we booked this hotel we saw some awful reviews and were a little worried that the hotel may not be as good as it seemed, but we found it to be just as it looked on the website.the rooms were spacious and clean with lovely furnishings all the staff were very hard working and very friendly .The food was very good quality and varied daily .This hotel is in a great location only 3kilometers from Kos town with a bus leaving from out side the hotel ,also bike and car hire out side of hotel.if you want a great relaxing holiday this is certainly the place for you

Room Tip: Rooms 161-171have a balcony a that look out onto the garden and are very quiet

Just returned from 10 day all inclusive holiday here. The ladies on Reception were friendly, but did nothing to solve problems. Special mention to our waitress Irini who was very efficeint and seemed to the the only waitress working hard. All the others were standing around doing as little as possible,
The building is nice but needs updating. Stickers pealing off walls, empty picture frames. Worn seat covers. But by far the worst feature are the beds, Terrible, lumpy, springs everywhere and ours slanted to one side so my husband had to sleep in the single bed!. Our adult daughter who was in another room had the same sort of bed so it wasn't just a 1 off. Also our air conditioneing did not work from the 1st day there. 3 men came to fix it, they managed to get the fan working and said that's the best you'll get. There were no other available rooms so we sweated all night for the full 10 days.
I agree with the other tripavdisor who said if you like pork you'll be ok with the meals. Vegetable rice had pork in it. maccaronni cheese had sausage in it. even the mixed salad had bacon in it. The chef (if you can call him that) who cooked the Lokma's was terrible, everything he fried was raw in the middle and only brown on one side. Go book in the Kipriotis Village for their greek meal (you can fill in a booking sheet in the Hippocrates restauarant and go as part of your inclusive package) and see how Lokma should be cooked, they were amazing!
We also found it amazing that a 4* hotel only provide one little bottle of shampoo and one very small bar of soap on arrive. It is not replaced. Pool towels are only changed evrry 3 days.
Also agree with the comment that the animation team were rubbish. They did a very lack luster job of informing guests of any activities therefore you missed some of them. They also had a day off, all of them at once, so one day there was no entertainment or events at all. The evening entertainment was in a small conference room and tended to be bingo or karaoke, apart from the greek night which we missed as by then we'd given up and gone ito Kos town.
I could go on about beach charges, room cleaning, ironing facilites (or lack of) and fighting for a sunbed but won't.
Needless to say we will not be coming back here.

Room Tip: Do not allow them to put you in room 128

We sincerely apologize that the vacation in our resort has not met your expectations. Hippocrates property has been fully renovated in 2010. With regards to food we are surprised to hear your comment above that all dishes involve pork as there are clearly vegetarian dishes served on our buffet as well as a variety of salads and other meat dishes to choose from. Our pool towel policy involves the payment of a deposit (which is paid back to the guest upon departure) in order to be provided with towel, then the towel is renewed two times per week. Finally, as Hippocrates hotel is an adults friendly hotel it features only a soft animation program as mentioned in all our brochures and T.O materials.

Just returned from having 2 weeks in this hotel and found that the ladies on reception were great never a problem, and Despina in the dinning hall was very professional and a pleasure to talk to, the bar staff wre generally good but when we talk about Hussain he had 1 of the greatest sense of humour i havnt seen for a long time he was funny and spoke many languages which kept all nationalities happy i cannot say enough about this man he was GREAT. Now the only thing that let the hotel down was the entertainment the animation team were terrible the only night i enjoyed was the greek dancers and they had come from outside for the night. Overall it was HUSSAIN WHO MADE MY HOLIDAY I DONT KNOW HOW HE KEEPS IT UP DAY AFTER DAY WITH HIS NATURAL WIT

Room Tip: i had 335 view was not so good but quite

just returned from a 2 week holiday at the hippocrates and i must say we had a great time ,the staff all worked very hard . the lady on reception with the dark hair was so helpful nothing was to much trouble for her and the bar man aurol was very polite and served you quickly , the girl on the bar was a bit grumpy i think her name was maria when the bar was busy she was either talking or walking around with a cloth randomly wiping the bar. the lady in restaurant was great always greets you with a smile and cleared your table as soon as you finished your meal ,i must also mention the cleaner who cleaned our room (331) she left your room like new every day and was so polite and friendly.the only problem with this hotel is there is no entertainment in the bar at all for adults in the evenings, if you had a singer a couple of nights a week would be .better.we like other guests went into kos town some nights but that costs you when your all inc!! you should'nt have to spend elsewhere.lovely hotel though worth a visit . a big thanks to all those mentioned the hotel could do with more like you maybe see you again in the future.

Room Tip: get a mountain veiw room on the back of the hotel its cooler and quieter.
