definatly not 5 star let itself down by having to ask for everything were entitled to finding out of other guests what should be in room etc and varied to who maid was, room cleaned every day and towels sheets replaced, food was not 5 star but good and menu did not vary too much from day to day , 99% of staff could not do enough for you and were very helpful and friendly and made holiday, pity about odd two. beach not upto much but beach cafe/bar very good for snacks so you did not have to return to hotel for food if you did not want to. one major draw back are the midges at night they feed on everyone so take plenty of repelents especially for skin to go out at night. good cheap bus service that stops right outside hotel and is very frequent if you want to go into town.
entertainment not to my liking but always something on and people who run it are excellent and get everyone involved without being pushy. if it wasnt for bugs would definatly go back but sad to say wife will not due to this.

If you want a relaxing get away from it all holiday then the Ramira Beach Hotel is the best place to go! Excellent value for money. You must try the Chinese and Italian Restaurants, the food is fantastic. Your glass will never be empty at this hotel as all the staff make sure that you have your fair share of alchol/coffee and soft drinks. We will certainly go back to this hotel and would like to thank Peter who was our waiter in the smoking/outside part of the restaurant for his friendship and excellant service.
We had a family room overlooking the pool and there was a fridge with soft drinks and beer. Our room was cleaned and sheets and towels were changed daily.

As per lots of earlier reviews it is not a 'true' 5 star hotel but given the price we paid it was a wonderful holiday.
Hotel itself is very clean, rooms are nice, clean and a really good size. Ours overlooked the pool and had a view of the sea.
With two pools and loads of beds on the beach there was always somewhere to sit.
Food was excellent for AI, with plenty of choice and fresh food cooked for you - grills, pancakes, waffles etc . Have been on a couple before and ended up eating out as it gets so boring that wasn't the case with the Ramira beach.
Hotel is a bit far out of Kos town and there are only a few tavernas on the road into town (which is a good 40 minute walk away in the heat) but the bus service is right outside the hotel and very good.
The staff are probably the best thing about the hotel, almost to a person they are friendly and helpful.
As mentioned in some earlier reviews the only thing that would really improve matters is if they upheld the signs everywhere that state sunbeds should not be reserved as this does seem to be quite a problem.

We booked online through Fleetway - 2 people, including flights (not night flights) in mid-June for around 360 pounds each all-inclusive (I think the price has escalated since). This is only the second time we've ever gone AI (and we did so due to the deal and the poor Euro rate) and I would recommend it for a one week holiday. It was fantastic value for money.

As mentioned by other reviewers the staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly. I do wish some of the guests would give some of that back though - the drinks cost nothing but neither does the use of the word "please"!

The pool was nice - yes it is salt water - but always loads of room to swim (or float). Plenty of room around the main pool (and probably the second pool too, although we never used it).

We ate in both the special restaurants, and I preferred those meals away from the bustle of the main restaurant. Expect to walk out full though! All the food in the special restaurants was served very hot, but that was only the case in the main restaurant some of the time. One other small niggle - too much salt was used in some of the cooking (but that is a matter of taste). Good salad bar there though and lots of choice of food generally (perhaps too much choice!). We used the beach bar for lunches a few times - nice fresh home-made burgers, kebabs, and cold pre-made salads. They will also do you packed lunch if you order.

Drinks always come in proper glasses - and they will serve you at tables, which is nice if you want to relax and not get up! The beer is good, and served in half-pint pots, of the wines the rose is the most drinkable. Plenty of choice on the drinks front, but the official cocktail list was a bit naff (best to know what you like and how to make it before you leave!). Measures of soft drinks (like pepsi) seemed a bit small, but measures of alcohol seemed the other way - i.e. they fill a whole wine glass with brandy!

The rooms were cleaned daily, and towels changed - they do miss bits but I really couldn't complain. We had a nice bathroom, double bed, tv, fridge, and there are two put up settees and coffee table. We were on the ground floor, and had a terrace with table and chairs. There is air-con, and a safety deposit box (the latter cost 22 euros for a week - a touch pricey I thought, given you can hire bikes for less!). One minor point on the room, it did smell smokey when we arrived (and during our stay if the doors were shut all day - I don't think there is such a thing as a non-smoking room though.

Entertainment - there if you want it, not pushed at you if you don't. The animation team are friendly whether or not you do their things (and we didn't very much). You do have the choice - there is a quiet sunset bar on the other side away from all that (and go to see the sunset too if you're in a romantic frame of mind).

If you've not done AI before, or have had a bad AI experience, you should give this a try. We had a lovely relaxing holiday, and the staff are great. If you do go, try hiring bikes, visit the thermes, and Kos town. We didn't do too much this year, but the Asklepion and Nissyros were worth visiting.

I have never written one of these before but because my husband and I and our teenage son had such a fantastic time I wanted to let everyone know what a brilliant hotel the Ramira is. What made the hotel so pleasurable to stay in was the staff - they were fantastic - every single one of them. The place is beyond spotless and it is cleaned daily by staff who just smile (genuinely) as they go about their work. The animation team are good fun and try and get you to participate in activities without any pressure. The food was great, the chinese was the tastiest we have ever had.

The evening entertainment was good - the animation team work very hard. But perhaps there could be more chance for dancing after the animation is over - the nights of the Karaoke and Dance Nights everyone seemed to enjoy but they were only on a couple of nights a week, apart from that after 10ish not much happened. That is my only negative and to be honest it didn't spoil our stay.

We would go back tomorrow and stay forever. .

We stayed at the Ramira, Psalidi in June 2009, the hotel was immaculate, the staff were amazing, so friendly and could not do enough o help you; the room backed onto the pool area and was cleaned daily. We had a fridge in the room with beers, water and coke topped up daily as we were all inclusive. The maids even left fly repellent plugs in the room for you. The room was huge with a big clean bathroom. The food was excellent and you can eat in the Italian and the Chinese restaurants within the resort, these were both fabulous, the service in the restaurants was excellent. The hotel backs onto a pebble beach and at night you must walk along it to view Turkey which you can see clearly opposite. It is a lovely 40 minute walk into Kos town which is along the sea front and a real must to do after diner. I stayed here with a friend and we had a great week. The hotel is quieter as in more for couples and families but we met some lovely people at this hotel. I would definitely return, most of the rooms were refurbished in 2008 and the hotel is modern and extremely clean. Defiantly visit this hotel, it is a must.

The hotel is very clean and the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, our room was very spacious and cleaned daily with fresh towels and beach towels supplied. The bar staff are great and are eager to ensure you have a good time, the food was good and even the fussiest of guests would struggle not to be able to have a substantial meal and enjoy it. While we were there we hired a car and was very surprised how easy it was to get around there seems to be one main road a couple of roundabouts and a set of traffic lights on the whole island, we saw some beautiful villages and picturesque harbour towns. If I have a complaint it is one that no one at the hotel is responsible for the night time brings the dreaded mosquito's by the swarm, and do not venture out without dowsing yourself with repellent.
