“'Beautiful place and lovely people'”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 via mobile

My boyfriend and I have recently returned from a weeks stay at this Gorgoeus hotel.
We had the most wonderful trip. The hotel is beautiful, clean and full of friendly staff- who will go above and beyond the call of duty to make your stay worthwhile.

The rooms are big and airy- we had a bungalow room, on the ground floor. The room was lovely, but we were placed next to the 'kids club' which was quite noisey late afternoon but not for long. (Might be noisier in the summer hols). Did feel that the bathrooms could be updated, especially the shower.
We also had a few issues with the key cards for our door, which is a bit of a hassle when you're quite far from reception- but the staff who helped us were polite and very apologetic.
The food in the hotel is fantastic, amazing choice but the drinks are wayyyy too expensive! ! But these are our only slightly negative points.

I also celebrated my birthday while I was out there and was given a surprise cake in our room, a card from the staff/management and a candle with matches!- its small touches like this that make your holiday special. Very nice surprise :)

We did 3 excursions. All of which I would highly recommend. Zia by Night, Aegean cruise and Nisyros (volcano). The cruise was the best, the staff/guide were lovely, the places are stunningly beautiful and we saw dolphins!!- couldnt of been better.

The animation team at the hotel were fun and enthusiastic. Getting everyone involved and having a laugh. We would like to especially thank Beni and Dudu, two very funny guys who made us smile lots and had great conversation.

The pools were lovely, the beach was lovely and we were very lucky to have amazing weather! Kos is an extremely beautiful island!! Very good if you explore it on your own by hiring a buggy!-very good fun! Kos town is lovely, lots to explore.

This hotel is stunning, beautiful and would very highly recommend it to anyone who is wanting to stay in Kos. We were very sad to leave and hope to return again one day! :)

If you are after a relaxing location and superb hotel then this is the one for you. The location was ideally situated, a short bus ride outside Kos Town centre (2 euro) which gave the choice of a quite local night or a more lively evening in the town. The hotel was immaculate and well worthy of its 5 stars. Check in even though close to midnight went smoothly and we were in our room within 10mins. Service was amazing, whether you were sat next to one of the many pools or in the hotel itself there were always numerous waiters and staff close at hand and can not do enough for you. Food was of excellent quality and with loads of choices. Although the majority used the buffet room there was always plenty of room and I would strongly recommend a table at the outside seating area. One point to mention is if you do go half board and would like to go out into town for a meal the hotel do not offer the option to change your evening meal for lunch. WiFi is extremely poor unless you are sitting in reception however there is an internet "café" within the hotel. I will strongly recommend this hotel to all and I would definitely revisit in the future.

My wife and I stayed here for a week in June.
Room (251) was great with slight view of sea and view of pools, large balcony, never heard anyone else in room as walls solid.
Food & drink...
We did all inclusive which was the best as drinks expensive if you were paying for them, cocktail €12 euro, whiskey & cola €8!
Food great, no waiting for table and very varied menu, no theme nights.
Had 3 great large pools and no towels at 8 am by the Germans, we could always get a lounger by pool at any time of day...in June. Try side pools if couple and want quiet area as main pool had shallow end were all the kids went in.
This hotel is 15 minutes outside Kos but you can get the bus for €2 outside the hotel into Kos and only takes 15 minutes. Kos itself is ok but expensive. There is nothing to walk from hotel to apart from a taverna and a shop. Don't waste your time getting on bus other way to Thermi which boasts bubbling hot springs and beach, we went and walked down horrid step dirt track to rubbish beach, you know it's going to be step as donkeys there to ride down on! stayed for hour then went back. Many others doing same!
Hired a car from kosmos halfway up main stairs in hotel, avoid them as crap car which was old, complained but didn't get anywhere, budget car hire across road cheaper.
Wi-fi worked slow in reception area and strangely on our balcony, (but not in our room)
Plenty of Germans, Polish and LOUD Russians out number Brits at hotel.
Departing was a farce, Kos airport totally unable to cope with us flying out so be prepared to Que outside airport, then wait, wait and wait to board plane as only two gates but no info.
Overall hotel great, food great, staff helpful,
Down side, 15 minutes outside Kos and nothing to walk to
You need to either stay in hotel all the time or hire car, bike or go-kart to see the rest of the island
Prefer Island of rhodes as that felt more a Greek Island

If you consider football to be a gentlemen's game played by hooligans, and Rugby a hooligans game played by gentlemen....then this is your Hotel.
It is the utmost perfect vacation / business / leisure or sports venue for Gentlemen and Ladies who enjoy class, elegance, sophistication and a warm and social correct environment.

As manager with a large Fortune 500 company I engage in a lot of international travel and have stayed in many high class hotels. However for the last 5 years I have enjoyed Kos Imperial as my vacation venue and I find the refinement and sophistication of the hotel & staff exceeding any hotel that I know of. I enjoy an upper class lifestyle and environment and Kos Imperial Thalsso meets my high standards in every way.

Do not be misled by the higher scores of other hotels. Georgie Shore pykies rate hotels quite differently.

A beautiful hotel, lovely rooms, and great pools.
The beach is pebbly, but at least the sun beds are free (which in most Kos hotels they are not!)
The staff are all so helpful, and cannot do enough for you!
The restaurant is superb, a fantastic selection.
The welcome basket of fresh fruit and wine and sweet for the kids was a nice touch. We were offered a late check out at no extra cost which was a real treat.
Kos town is a couple of miles away, but easily accessible by bike, bus or car. Kos town is lovely and the boat trips to the island are well worth it!

We have just returned from a great holiday in Kos. The Grecotel was very good, we arrived at 5.30 in the morning and were immediately given a voucher for the evening meal we had missed the previous evening. The rooms were clean and spacious (we had an additional lounge but our travelling companions next door just had a larger balcony). The complimentary wine and fruit was a nice touch but the room would have benefitted from a nice duvet, after the first day the bed cover disappeared, never to return, who uses blankets these days? There was a huge choice of food at every meal, most was of a really good quality but I did get the feeling that 'less would have been more'. There were quite a few Eastern Europeans customers so some of the food options were entirely understandable. Most reviewers have mentioned the high bar prices, we spent most of our evenings in Romeo's Taverna across the road, he and his wife know how to treat customers - with good food and friendly banter (and the odd free drink thrown in) even his cd looping for the umpteenth time was more interesting than the hotel entertainment -to be fair though,we only went to one show - 'The Drifters', everything else was uninspiring.

The weather was quite windy so we were able to take advantage of the cool breeze and walk to a bar up the hill in Fokas or catch the half hourly bus into Kos (from there you can jump on a trip to Bodrum)
We did not find any of the public areas or bars overcrowded at any time, the dining hall appeared to be much busier towards the end of the week but this may have been due to us dining at slightly different times. I thought the idea to switch your evening meal to lunch buffet was good as it meant we didn't have to lose a meal when we visited Zia in the evening.

The staff were very friendly and efficient, this is what gave the hotel the edge over others, the actual building and grounds are probably a good four star

Room Tip: 534 would have been good for for families as it is situated in front of the Grecoland playpark and w...
