I've just returned for a week's stay at this hotel and had a fantastic time. I've been to lots of 3-4 star hotels in Europe and this was definitely up there as one of my favourites! As for people saying it was unfinished, I didn't see any evidence of this. Maybe we had one of the nicer rooms (we had a sea view room). The room was amazing, had a lovely walk in shower, a massive bed, a fridge, air conditioning and was kept absolutely spotless. The hotel grounds were also spotless. The only thing I think about this hotel (or judging by our room anyway) is that it is definitely geared towards couples, as opposed to friends. The bathroom doesn't have a door on it and the shower door is clear glass so you have to be ok with whoever you are staying with seeing you in the shower! The toilet did however have a frosted glass door so you could have more privacy there. Luckily I was staying with my husband so it wasn't an issue.

The food was really nice, although as with any all inclusive I've stayed at, I was fed up with it by the end of the week but then I think if you went to the same restaurant twice every day for a week, I'd probably feel the same.

The staff were all lovely and friendly, there were plenty of bars that you could get a drink from, which included cocktails.

The negatives about our holiday were:

Lack of English TV channels, all there seemed to be was CNN and BBC News, not that I go on holiday to watch TV but it's nice to have English TV on for when you are in the room.

The beach was a bit rocky and shingly but then not all beaches have lovely white sand.

The thing that annoyed me the most was the fact that this is now an adult only hotel and I saw children there on a daily basis. Whether they were actually staying at the hotel or had nipped over from one of the other neighbouring hotels, I don't know but they have a children's play area which shouldn't be there if it's adult only. You pay for the adult only environment and it annoys me that kids aren't kept out.

The final negative (which the hotel obviously can't help with) is the airport. It's absolutely awful. Typically Greek. It reminded me of Zante airport. It was tiny. If a seat becomes available, you literally have to be standing next to it in order to get it. You can't sit on the floor because there's no room where everyone else is sitting there. And it was just chaos. There weren't any announcements that our flight was late, it didn't even say it on the departure board. We just knew it was through looking on the Thomson website. We were told by the pilot on our plane that the delay was due to Kos having such a small airspace that there isn't enough room for all the flights coming in and out. So I'd say to expect delays at the airport. It seemed, judging by people's cheers when their flight was announced that it was boarding, that this is a common thing. The airport is absolutely tiny and smells and I think they need to work on making it a little nicer.

Back to the hotel itself, I didn't see any evidence that this hotel was unfinished. It looked amazing but then like I say, maybe I had one of the better rooms. I'm not an overly critical person but I just can't see why anyone would leave this a negative review. I had an amazing time and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to a friend.

We arrived on the the day it re-opened.Yes their were problems with the computer which caused checking in problems. This affected the programing of the electronic door cards.Workmen were still on site trying to get more rooms ready.I think the reception staff coped very well with the amount of complaints Some were very petty in my opinion. The food was ok and enough selection to keep me and my elderly family happy. Antinos and Stefanos the restaurant supervisors always made us welcome and ensured we had a table for 6.The bar Staff did their best to keep everyone served, the waiters were very friendly. If they think this hotel was bad, they should have spent a week at the Blue Lagoon resort. Well done Oceanis staff,I think you performed well under trying conditions and moaning travellers. Give the hotel 3 months and It will be the best value on Kos.

Room tip: Sea views are the best.

Well where do i start......... Ive never been so glad for a holiday to end and to get back home, We arrived on the 18th of may unaware this was the opening day of an un-finished project.. suspicious of this before our travel we spoke to thomsons and they informed us the hotel had been open for at least 2 weeks with many people staying there ,, which was obviously total rubbish! it started with an exceedingly long check in time and surrounded by incompetent staff ,, luggage was forgotton by staff outside so unattended until we questioned its whereabouts... first room impressions were very good until we had problems with broken shower, wooden door trim falling off and aircon dripping informed rep and hotel manager and no action was taken ,,even after telling reception many times nothing was done for the whole duration !
Got woken up every other night with faulty alarms!! people banging doors as locks were faulty , noisey uninsulated lift shaft , and glugging drains !!!
The spa , gym and other facilities were not complete ! Theres no swim up bar as advertised ,, and only two pools .. Most of the staff were rude and just didnt want to do anything , questioned me for asking for 2 drinks made me feel greedy when ive payed all inclusive , we were called lazy english as we didnt want to join in on daytime activity i.e crazy golf ....
Food was nice to start with but got very repetitve ,, was also not labelled ...
unfortunatley the list just goes on and on and on ,, im bored of writting anymore but im sure you get the picture ...
im sure when the hotel is fully completed and they turf out bad staff then the hotel may well be worth recommendation .

Room tip: A room with a personal pool when they're ready

Unfortunately we arrived for the start of their season as a Platinum rated resort and endured a wait of 4 hours before being given access to our room, reason given as teething problems with key electronics. The room was adequate, lighting poor, balcony small although there was an all singing and dancing shower, pity that when the shower door was opened it spilled out into the bathroom turning it into a paddy field! The cleaning staff were very inconsistent not leaving towels or replenishing tea, coffee, water, toiletries etc. Food was atrocious and was the same day in day out, no taste often cold, didn't know what you were eating as it wasn't labelled - totally unacceptable, wasn't even worthy of two star food. Waiting staff even whipped your things away in between courses in both restaurants, clueless! The beach was still under construction, building work was still going on all around us and the smell of paint permeated the air. They advertised 2 tennis courts, not operational until a couple of days before we left. The spa and gym were non existent and god knows where the creperie, kebab corner and whirlpool bath were. To add insult to injury there was a severe lack of entertainment or to put it bluntly none, apart from a belly dancer and sword swallower. Topping it off as if we needed anything else, was the fact that we had to endure the incessant sound of Dido 24/7 everywhere, absolutely relentless. On that note it leads me nicely onto the manageress and a phrase from one of Dido's hit songs - I will go down with this ship....ummmmm!!!

Like other guests since the refurbishment we were pretty unhappy with the holiday we got versus the holiday we were sold. When we arrived many of the facilities were unavilable: gym, spa, tennis courts and swim-up bar. When we left a few of these were available but the swim-up bar as well as a large section of the pool has been removed. Regardless of this, there were not enough sun beds by the pool even though there was a lot of room to put more there. If you weren't up and getting a bed by 8.30 am, you didnt get a bed by eithe rof the pools. Lots by the very pebbled beach or on the grass looking out to the beach. Room was nice but linens were old with stains and holes, pillows very lumpy and the room by the wardrobes was so dark that you couldn't see what was on the shelves. Bar staff at the pool bar were slow but we didnt find them rude. Hard to get a drink after dinner as they were slower then, good luck on getting anything but instant coffee after dinner either - the coffee machine always appears to be broken at the downstairs bar then. Expect nothing from the entertainment - 2 evenings a week and repeated exactly the same the following week. Food was the biggest let down. No labels, very little choice and the hot food was often not very nice. Best to stick with the Greek salad but be quick, the feta disappears instantly! ALso do not expect juice at breakfast (squash only!) and coffee is not avilable in the restaurant after dinner either. The building work etc and facilities not being ready will change soon, things were opening up (as we left) but the food and lack of organisation at the pool bar do not make this place relaxing or up to the 4.5 Ts Thomson rate it at (or official 4 stars) - however the hotel is beautiful and hopefully the food/drinks issues will be straightened out with so many people complaining about the same things. Give it 3-6 months and this will probably be lovely. Going before that - Good Luck!
