“Our trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2013

Me and my girlfriend have recently returned from our 2nd visit to this wonderful hotel since 2011. Our first visit exceeded all expectations so we didn't hesitate in rebooking for august 2013.

The hotel itself is modern, clean, spacious and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. On both occasions we have stayed in a standard double room with garden view. These rooms are far from standard, with huge king size beds, large shower, big wardrobes and modern furnishings. Our balconies over looked the fantastic gardens and a good view of turkey across the sea. The rooms were always clean and tidy, with the cleaners doing a fantastic job morning until night. On arrival, you are supplied with bottled water and white wine. As we were there on our second visit, we were also given red wine and a fruit basket. The bottled water is constantly replenished each day by house keeping.

The food here for breakfast, lunch and dinner is fantastic! There is always a large variety of hot and cold choices for each meal. Freshly cooked fish including squid, mussels and prawns were always on my plate. There is also a vast variety of meats, pasta, rice, veg, salads, sauces, cheeses and breads to name just a few. The deserts were unbelievably delicious, with cakes, pastries, fresh fruit and ice creams. They also have theme nights occasionally, we particularly enjoyed the Greek and Chinese evenings.

Would like to thank the general manager Patty for her dedication in running this hotel. Antonis, the maitre de such a great man always having a chat he really works the rooms talking to everybody. George the spa manager good guy and would make us laugh. Flora at the pool bar a lovely lady with a big smile and always happy. And thumbs up to all other staff who work there. Ignore what everybody else says just get yourself there and enjoy! Will be back next year Yamas

Room Tip: Go for what you feel. Room with outdoor pool or jacuzzi it's up to you.

We didn't pay the extra for a sea view but requested a quiet room in block three (believed to be the quietest block) on a high floor with a garden view. The room décor etc was impressive but the location left a bit to be desired. Our balcony was tight into an internal corner and we could shake hands with our neighbours who were at right angles to us (and had presumably paid for a sea view but hadn't bargained for such close neighbours). We weren't too bothered since we don't spend a lot of time on the balcony, and really they were too small. We could also overlook the swimming pools of the ground floors rooms, which incidentally saw very little sun (I would have been very disappointed with that location).
That said, there was plenty of room with room to spare around the pools, on the grass embankments and on the pebble beach. We tried them all and settled mainly for the beach, because of the better breeze. All the staff, without exception, were really polite and friendly. A particular mention to Antonis the maître d who was very welcoming and was always ready to find us a table, he even tried to converse in Welsh with us. Another particular mention must go to Christina, always very chatty and ready to point out the Greek evening in the main bar, where she was ready to join in (between her waitressing duties) the traditional Greek dancing. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Italian restaurant (wine paid for separately).
In conclusion the hotel really is beautiful and modern we were highly delighted and will recommend this hotel to others.
As a final footnote, the authorities (encouraged by the hoteliers) must do something about the dreadful airport, if their business is going to thrive. The airport is the one and only thing that will stop us going back. I know this is nothing to do with the quality of hotel, but it will affect their business in time, if they don't bring pressure to bare themselves.

Room Tip: Don't ask for quiet room

Good points:
+ gorgeuos garden
+ suberb and extremly friendy maids – top class!
+ nice and friendly management
+ location
+ Anemos and Yaht Club´s food is good(plenty of choice)
+ cleanliness is perfect every place in hotel area, inside and outside
+ the hotel worker who removed the towels of those people, who tied to reserve sunbeds to themselves before 10am.
+ entertainment was little bit better than last year, but still program is mostly aimed for the older people (lots of sixties and seventies music)
+ fashion show was good
+ staffs friendliness
+ Dan who playd his guitar in Anemos at daytime when people were eating – good idea!
+ luggage-men
+ the Spa
+ MiniMarket and the workers in there
+ Sea Sports
+ extremely romantic hotel
+ young men waiters who served melon slices to everyone by the pool area around 5pm, very good idea!

Improvement:
- in the evening sometimes it took quite long to get service on your table(there could be few more of waiters serving people)
- at the daytime it took sometimes quite long to get a drink behind the bar and there were a lot of people (mainly middle aged bear thirsty men) who arrogantly jump to queue. But there are still few gentlemen. Maybe the hotel could have beer taps and soft drink taps so people could take for themselves the drinks
- sometimes there were families with children walking and swimming in the beach, even though this hotel is adults only hotel
- Hippocampus (food wasn´t so special) and the service was little arrogant for some of the workers
- there is no free mild alcohol (if you don´t like beer) like Smirnoff Ice, ciders, Bacardi Breezer etc. This is a problem if you don´t like to drink strong alcohol-drinks like coctails, wine, ouzo etc. For me this was a big minus...
- sometimes the meat and black olives were extremely salty in Yaht Club
- little bit bad lighting in the bathroom to do your makeup
- the fakir-show were same that was last year, although it was good but hope they have something new next year

Overall fantastic hotel and fantastic holiday. We would definitely come back to the Oceanis in next year!
Special thanks to friendly women in Yaht Club, the Romanian young man waiter in Anemos, Giannis young man waiter by pool bar, Paquel and Ahmed.

we spent 14 days at the Oceanis from the 6th of July until the 21st. and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience there, we has a private pool room with a sea view and it was very private, well worth it as we used the pool loads and sunbathed on our terrace every day.The food was amazing we did not have any problems with the food being cold as we noticed in previous reviews the staff working in the restaurant were fantastic, Antonis made us feel very special every time he saw us, and joined us every evening before he finished for a chat, it was funny how when he found out we were from Wales he made the effort to speak to us in Welsh. When we were on our second week we were told that my daughter had been in premature labour but that they had managed to stop it, Christina was very concerned about this which was sweet, well just to let you know Christina if you read this Charlie was actually born two months early as I was flying home missed it by a hour 4lb 2oz and well, he's home now thank you Christina. the only thing that let the hotel down was the entertainment I know it was meant to be low key, but it can get bit boring, if you get a chance to go on the organised trips do so, Kos VIP was brilliant, the tour guide knew everything about the island and was funny in his deliverance of information on the tour Kia at night was brilliant too eating your food watching the sunset. ,We did go to Turkey for the day but would never do that again, far to hot Turkish people in your face constantly trying to push fake goods on you, and the trip far to long waiting to return on the ferry after a hour of being there as it was so bad. the beach at the hotel was nice as the breeze was amazing and the sea blue blue. the only other thing that could be improved was the VIP lounge the drinks were not replenished enough and nobody seemed to look after the Tassimo machine so the pods were empty or the machine needed cleaning badly as most people did not know how to use it correctly, instructions needed badly. But if you want a relaxing couples holiday cannot fault it spotless and excellent staff, love to Antonis and Christina xx

Room Tip: block three seems to be the best much quieter

On arrival we were given what could only be described as the worst room in the hotel, dark, cramped and with no privacy on the terrace. The next door neighbours could sit on their terrace and look into our room and their cigarette smoke drifted straight in the door. Went straight back to reception to be told only 1 member of staff could change our room allocation for us and they would not be in until the next day. If the person on duty is not able to help with room changes then there should be someone on duty who can! Having to wait until the next day to change rooms was not ideal and put a damper on the start of my 40th birthday holiday. The room we were changed to was much, much better though why we could not have been allocated a nice room to start with is beyond me. After we lost the first day with moving rooms etc the Holiday did improve. Staff were without exception friendly and polite. Rooms cleaned daily, sheets changed etc on a regular basis. The food was okay, although we ate out about half of our stay as the chaos in the dining room was not to our taste. As others have mentioned the al la carte Italian was just awful, lovely service but awful food. I had the rack of lamb which wasn't a rack at all (I think they had ran out because other guests ' lamb looked lovely)and for some reason tinned carrots! Not really acceptable in an a la carte. The lunch restaurant was the best of all, go late for a chance of peace and quiet on the terrace. I don't get why they don't make more use of all 3 restaurants to take some pressure off the main restaurant in the evening. The beach barbeque was dreadful, chairs laid out on the grass, no tables to eat at food kept warm and plastic plates so it was not comfortable to sit and eat. No effort made at getting guests to interact Or any staff coming round to chat. All in all a nice enough holiday, would I return, probably not unless I got a fantastic last minute deal and then only for a week.

Room Tip: Nothing on the ground floor unless you like keeping curtains closed all day

This hotel just keeps improving. The food was better this year and the all inclusive drinks were better.
The Spa has a new manager George who has made improvements to the Spa. We had the deal book 2 treatments and get a third free - all were excellent.
We had a pool room with a sea view that was very private.
The management and staff are brilliant and will go out of their way to ensure your holiday is the best it can be. Low key entertainment which is great but can come across a bit amature. We will definately return.

We have booked a standard garden view room. On Saturday, after our arrival, we have received room number 1205. The room was nice, but we were shocked by the fact that the room did not have a garden view. Instead, we could see a wall and passing by people, who could easily look into our room, which had a significant impact on our privacy. What is more, from the inside of our room we could clearly hear people walking through the corridor, as well as the loud music from the nearby bar. Because of this, we have instantly requested a room change at the reception. This, however, turned out to be very problematic. At first, we were told by the staff that the hotel is fully booked, but if we came the next day, they could have some free rooms. So, on Sunday we returned. It turned out that they would give us another room, but after 11:00 AM. So, after 11:00 AM we returned. This time we were told that, unfortunately, they don't have any free rooms, but they will certainly have one on the next day. It seemed like every time we would hear the same "the next day" response until the end of our stay, which lasted only a week. In the end, after our very emotional intervention, a free room magically appeared and we could change rooms on Sunday. We were sad that it turned out that a room with a wall view was offered as a "garden view". It is very misleading and unfair towards the guests. It is also sad that from the very beginning the staff at the reception only made problems with our room change and were not very helpful overall. What is more, we did not hear any apologies, not even a single "sorry" word. Eventually, we have received a garden view room (which is what we booked from the beginning), but why had it have to be so difficult?
Once we finally received our real garden view room, we could start to fully enjoy the hotel and our stay.
Our new room, number 2251, had a very comfortable bed and a nice view from the window. We could finally see the sun and the interior felt much brighter.
The food was delicious and very good quality. We especially liked the desserts, which were fabulous. The waiters were very polite and helpful. We can particularly recommend the pancakes at the "Greco" pool bar.
Both the hotel area and the pools were very clean and kept in a very good state. Even in the afternoon, there were no problems with finding unoccupied sunbeds, especially on the beach.
The garden was beautiful. It featured hammocks, romantic two person swings and beds. In the evenings, the romantic atmosphere was strengthened by lanterns. Also, in the evenings you could hear a nice live music.
To sum up, the hotel is beautiful and the staff (excluding the reception) represents a very high level of customer care. It is worth noting, that the hotel is only for adults, which creates a very romantic atmosphere and helps relaxing. Because of this, I would surely recommend this hotel. One thing to keep in mind is the room location, because it can end with an unpleasant surprise.

Room Tip: Don't take room number 1205 - it has wall view and it's loud.
