List of some pros and cons. But let me just start by saying that the staff in this hotel really go out their way to make you feel like royalty. Even though at the pool bar on the evening we wasn’t acknowledged and had to get our own drinks. But that’s no problem and doesn’t effect the brilliant work the staff do! Harry and Hollie the TUI entertainment reps are brilliant, also Louie the night singer really made our holiday special with their humour and uplifting spirit, even though you could tell they were being worked to the bone. Sorry we didn’t get names but the bar man who worked down on the beach bar and resembled MR bean was fabulous! Also the two restaurant host who came and spoke to us at our tables. Really all staff of that hotel are a massive asset- apart from the managers who stand around not doing anything. Lead from the top I say.

The room
Pros- Very Clean. Fridges stocked with water daily and other drinks every 3 days. Our view was lovely. Cleaners did a really good job!

Cons- you are woken up by people dragging their chairs across their balcony.
You are only given 1 bottle of water, which in that heat for two people isn’t enough.

The beach/pools
We can’t comment on the pools due to only being beach lovers! But what is good is that they will remove towels from sun beds before 10am so people can’t claim the bed.
But the beach ..

Pros- we always got a sun bed no matter what time we went down. The beach is pebbly but it’s no issue the views were amazing and water was lovely (once you had the courage to dive in). Beach bar not too far for cold and hot drinks through the day. Really nice

Cons- there’s not really any cons about the outside areas/beach or any issues we came across. But do be aware that it’s next to a local beach bar so kids will be walking up and down the beach also music and young adults will be around.
There was one issue where two young boys pulled up on the hotels side of the beach on their jet ski and was going up and down very close to the shore(obviously showing off to the girls) abit dangerous for the people in the water and the lifegaurd did approach the lads who then gave him abit of jip and they continued. But he did assure us all he would keep us safe. But the noise and children never affected our good time at the beach.

Restaurants
Note-there is more of a dress code for men. Trousers in the evening but nothing too strict. I’m a women so had to problems. I did see a few nights though on an evening a few men were allowed in with vest tops and shorts. Which is a lil unfair for those following the rules.
Pros - good selection of food. Good staff. Italian al a carte was lovely a really nice evening. The quite pool bar serves really nice crepes, cheese and ham toasties and ice cream until 6pm.

Cons - beach bar that serves snacks through the day is RIDDLED in flies. In all the other restaurants on the hotel there are things to prevent the flies from going near the food but defiantly not at this beach bar. We came to see the selection of food and saw the amount of flies feeding off the salad and coming out the pudding pots and never bothered eating there.

The morning breakfast was my favourite but at 10am dead on the dot they would come and take things away. Including the water and juice stations which if you wanted something to drink and you were already seated there was no chance.

On our second night we were seated on the evening on a front sea view table. We had got our drinks and then went up to get some food. As we came back two others had been sat on our table. We asked them politely to move as we were sitting here and these are our drinks they couldn’t understand anything we said and turned our back on us. We then spoke to one of the ladies who welcomes and sits you on your table her response-“ sorry I don’t know” then walks off. We were then left standing in the middle of the restaurant with our plates of food feeling abit embarrassed. Then Antois and the other lady matradee saw us and were very helpful unlike the other lady and sat us back down.

Also if your looking at having some Greek food- go into town you won’t get it here! being a non pork eater I really want a gyros but it was only ever pork!!

Bar/ entertainment

The entertainment was impressive, but for a youngish couple (late 20s) with most things finishing at 11 it did become abit boring. The white party was brilliant and we ended up making loads of friends our own age who then made the rest of the nights enjoyable. Also like I said about the TUI workers Hollie and Harry will really make your holiday something special!

If your a cocktail drinker too - they are not nice just stick to a spirit and mixer.

Location

Really easy and cheap to get into KOS town. Buy your tickets in the hotels shop (around 6€) for both of us return. On the hotel side it’s the number 1 and will drop you in the heart of kos.
For the hot springs, which I really recommend going to it’s number 5 on the opposite side(hourly so check times with reception)
If you want to hire a bike/buggy ask reception and the man from hot bikes will be down within 2 mins and pick you up to take you to the shop and then drop you back after. It was €5 to hire the bike for the day! There is also bike hire shops right across from the hotel but don’t know these prices.

Reception are helpful with a lot of things but be aware you could be mid sentence and if the phone rings they will pick it up and you will have to wait.

TUI Excursion
Pros- there is none.

I don’t want to even bore you with this but all I would say is don’t waste your money on booking through TUI. Go into town and ether book in an excursion shop or walk along the harbour asking for prices. Our first trip the coach drove off without us when we were there 20 mind before as stated. Then we booked a boat trip. ( which I will say seeing the three islands and swimming in clear water was good) the boat was so ram packed you couldn’t move. Food was included but not drinks. Well if you want to call brown lettuce & pink chicken food. Then the transfer to take us back to the hotel not only stopped off at so many hotels it took over an hour for a 10 min journey but it was 35 mins late picking us up. We paid nearly €120 Euros just for that boat trip for the both of us and speaking to people on the boat next to us (less crowded & better facilities + food and drink included) paid €25 each!!

The hotel as a whole is a really diverse place to stay and no one is judged. Even though on one occasion I overhead one group of guests making remarks about homosexual couples in the hotel. Which being in a same sex relationship myself did make me feel angry inside- but knew that if I had raised the issue probably wouldn’t have got a response from the hotel so just left it.

All in all though the hotel is a wonderful place to stay and would highly recommend staying here. Good location lovely clean grounds and rooms. We will definitely be returning in the future! So thank you for all the hard work of the staff for making our experience of Kos lovely!

Dear Gem D,

Warm greetings from the TUI Sensimar Oceanis Beach & Spa Resort in Kos and before going any further we are very pleased to see that you have chosen our hotel for your holidays.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our hotel happy to see that overall you enjoyed your stay with us.

It is also heartwarming to read all these amazing comments regarding our staff, who I rest assured were more than happy to cater to your needs. Your kind words on how much you liked our breakfast, cleanliness, entertainment team, Greco café snacks and White party are highly appreciated. Additionally, that you found our reception helpful as well as Antonis and Fotini in the main restaurant.

Coming to the cons of your review, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused and reassure you that your comments are important to us. However, please allow us to comment on some of those.

Regarding any requests, our reception or Guest Relations Manager would be more than happy to help you with anything you may require. Our standard mini bar has a big bottle of water which is replenished every day but, we can add more if needed.

As far as the authenticity of our cuisine is concerned please be advised that a great variety of original Greek food is available every Monday on our popular Greek Night which is very much appreciated by our guests. Additionally, there is a Greek corner, mainly cold items, on every themed buffet. Our buffet includes both very well-known Greek delicious dishes as well as many specialities from different parts of our country. We apologize in case we did not provide chicken gyros, as the traditional version is made with pork.

Finally, please be advised that our hotel is a place where, as you said, all couples are welcome. However, if there is any issue, our Guest Relations Manager is there to listen and help you with anything that can occur. Our main goal is that all our guest to have special holidays and feel welcome therefore any behavior that insults our guests is not acceptable.
The whole team and I sincerely hope that it will not be too long before we can welcome you back to our resort.

Yours sincerely,

Location- beach ok (sandy/pebble mix- needs water shoes), sea quality not best- on shipping lane, some fish to see with snorkel but tends to be choppy, was misty mostly when we were there, but when visible, nice view across to Bodrum, well outside Kos town but bus stop just outside hotel.
Hotel- appearance attractive, generally very clean, rooms nice & modern. We had sea & mountain view from our balcony- standard room. Rooms with own pool seem to have limited terrace area & hot tub rooms open onto beach which can be accessed by public so seem a bit vulnerable. No door on bathroom to bear in mind if travelling with a friend rather than partner. Is just shower not bath but good shower & again clean & modern bathroom, double sink. Basic hand wash & shower gel dispensers, hairdryer/shaver point. Safe (no extra charge) fine but small- only fits up to small tablet. Sufficient wardrobe space for us. Robes & slippers provided. No iron/board. Water/tea/coffee/sugar/creamer restocked daily, fizzy drinks/beer replenished every 3 days, complimentary fruit & bottle of wine on arrival. Air con good but sensor on window was loose which wasn't fixed until fell off & cleaner must have swept it up- but then was fixed fairly quickly after reporting. Only issue was main steps to reception are marble & treacherous when wet- we saw a girl slip & hurt herself quite badly- easily sorted if they were to deploy non-slip rubber mats when rains.
Staff- generally very friendly & helpful- most would greet you whatever their job & most have very good language skills. Constantin (waiter at beach bar during lunch & main bar evenings) was especially friendly & conscientious. No particular pressure to tip here unlike other places & received with gratitude if do so. Is good to see the general manager around a lot & being very approachable & involved with everything & supervisors very on the ball too.
Pool area attractive & lounger availability good if down before 9:30ish, hotel do enforce the no reservation before 10am rule which is good. Loungers comfiest round pool. Pool clean, no mould that other people have mentioned that I could see. Quality of beach towels provided pretty good. Nice shower for rinsing off after pool/beach which has temperature control. Only issue is main steps into pool very slippy & could do with some non-slip strips on them- there is a sign but several people reported accidents there.
Entertainment low key- we tend to be in bed early so didn't see much of it, day time not much going on- water polo seemed only regular thing, so generally nice & quiet- best for relaxing rather than more active people- perfect for us!
Drink quality seems fine for this sort of hotel- house white wine & beer not bad, some decent cocktails etc, soft drinks ok.
Main reason haven't given this hotel a higher score, is the food. The main buffet restaurant is very busy- after 7pm people having to queue for a table & food generally more school canteen quality than anything else. Staff do their best, but does feel like you are under pressure to eat & move on. Hotel could do with another buffet restaurant- for lunch perhaps open up the culinarium a la carte? and dinner- perhaps the beach bar? to take the pressure off & increase customer choice/comfort. A la carte restaurants seem pretty good- service good & food quality pretty good, not too much pressure to buy wine if you don't want to. Get 1 visit to each of the 2 a la carte restaurants per stay which is fine if you are there for a week, possibly a bit mean if were there for 2 weeks. Hotel does enforce the long trousers for men rule in the evenings, no restrictions otherwise apart from no swimwear.
Excursion- did the Kos VIP tour- felt was a rip off- could have seen same tourist sights cheaper by taxi or hiring car/buggy for day & lunch was revolting, was the worst tour we've done for feeling like you are on a conveyor of coach tours. The guide was very entertaining, but didn't make up for the rest. Would make me think twice about doing further Tui excursions (& we have done many in the past).
Airport- fine on arrival, nightmare on departure. You get your bag weighed & issued your boarding card after waiting outside the airport for a while, then join another queue to send your case through, then another queue for passport control- all of which queues stretch most of way round airport. Then departure gates area is very small/hot/horrendously crowded, announcements are mostly incomprehensible & cost 7euros 60cents for 2 bottles of standard fizzy drinks.Would never go back to Kos again based on airport.

Room Tip: Just go for a standard room- no point upgrading to others

Dear Sapphiremundy,

Warm greetings from the TUI Sensimar Oceanis Beach & Spa Resort in Kos and before going any further we are very pleased to see that you have chosen our hotel for your holidays.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our hotel but we are saddened to read that overall, we did not live up to your holiday expectations.

It is pleasing though to receive all these kind comments regarding our resort and pools appearance, our friendly and attentive staff including the management team and the nice entertainment. Additionally, the quality of our drinks, our views and how fast our team fixes any issues upon reporting. Thank you very much for your kind comments.

For the parts of your vacation that did let you down, we would like to apologize and reassure you that all of your comments are really welcome. However, please allow me to comment on some of them.

Regarding the slippery parts of our hotel like the pool stairs or the marble ones outside of reception, please be aware that as the safety rules demand, we have the necessary signs, as we do for all the places that might be slippery. Additionally, there are handrails in the pool’s stairs, helping the guests to enter safely.

Coming to our beach, indeed we have a pebble beach as most of the island. We are always trying to improve it though as our main and most important goal is to deliver the best possible service to our guests. Please, let us disagree with you on the sea quality, as our water has been nominated with the blue flag award for the last 18 consecutive years, which guarantees the cleanliness and the purity of a beach.

Finally, we feel disappointed that you didn’t like our food selection and at the same time surprised as most of our guests and especially repeaters find our food delicious and varied. We feel sorry for the queue issue, however please be advised that our guests do not wait more than 2-3 minutes to get to their prepared table occasionally. To maximize our guests’ satisfaction, we have the following operation: for lunch we have our Meltemi restaurant from 12.30 to 14.30 with Greek specialities & our Anemos beach bar from 13.00 to 17.00 with a barbeque buffet, variety of salads, warm plates and desserts. For dinner we have three options: our Italian restaurant “Meltemi”, an upgraded buffet with individual portions and a la carte service of pizza and drinks, our main restaurant with different theme evenings and our a la carte Culinarium restaurant with international gastronomy.

The whole team and I sincerely hope that we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back. Please do not hesitate to contact me personally for anything you may need.

Yours sincerely,

The hotel is a 4star medium price depending on the type of room you want, ie junior suite or standard etc: the location (views), or whether you want a private "plunge pool" or Jacuzzi. The main Restaurant "Yacht" serves breakfast and evening dinner only, with themed dinner nights. Greek night Mondays, Gala on Thursdays (black/white optional), Fish /BBQ nights alternate Wednesdays but other courses are available. The food is good quality, well cooked and plentiful ......run out! just ask! All the staff are very helpful. For midday there is a main lunch area serving meals and at the 2nd pool there is a snack bar for crepes and toasties. there is a beach snack bar and a coffee bar also.
The Culinarium a la carte restaurant serving evening meals only but has to be reserved. as does the Meltimi Italian restaurant, these are both in the all inclusive cost.
The Culinarium has a Friday "Timeless Dinner" night which has to be reserved and costs extra and the Meltimi has a Tuesday "Greek" night again reserved and extra cost. In all restaurants glasses of wine are included but bottles are cash or room. don't finish the bottle, they will label it and save for the next night. The room we had was spotless and cleaned daily inc: towels and bedding. In the bars the staff were attentive, Costa had a good memory and always seemed to have a full glass ready for you to finish the first one and Constantine in the upstairs bar was very chatty with a offbeat sense of humour. The TUi staff were keen to help with any problems. We look forward to going again in the near future.

Room Tip: the rooms away from the pool area are quieter as those rooms are close to the entertainment area.

We have just arrived back from this hotel and had the most wonderful time. This is the first time we have been to an adult only hotel and also our first time in Greece. I will start off with the holiday and then finish off with what I regard as things that come in handy.
We were two couples who have travelled to quite a few all inclusive hotels around the world. The oceanis is by far the best one. The hotel is set right on the beach and has two swimming pools. We stayed in room 1330 which it right by the bar and above the main pool. Everything in the hotel is easily reached. The hotel is spotless and seems to be freshly painted. The room was good with a good sized and comfortable bed. The fridge was topped up daily with soft drinks and beer. The bathroom had two sinks and all toiletries. Towels are changed every day and the towel art from the maid is good.
The main thing about this hotel is the staff, every one of them you cannot fault. You will see all the senior staff wandering around and talking with people. We had great service from every one. The main restaurant is buffet style and you are shown to your seat by one of two lovely young ladies, Monika and Petra, both of whom must cover several miles a day. The waiters and waitresses are great. We made friends with Ortencia who kept us topped up with drinks and was so genuinely friendly with us. Nothing was too much trouble, she is a star. The main man was Antonis, he is such an asset to the hotel, he is brilliant, we have made a friend for life with him and Ortencia, we don't usually have such a close bond with staff on holidays. He is everywhere and really does make your eating experience fantastic. He always had time to chat and we swapped stories about family and life. He and Ortencia really did make our holiday great.
The food is superb, we have never eaten such good quality food every meal was enjoyed.
There are two a la carte restaurants, an Italian which was lovely and the Cularnarium which was absolutely brilliant, Spiros is the main man there and runs a great team. The staff work their socks off to make you happy. The food was so very good that we ate there twice. Do make sure you eat there as you will not be disappointed. You can book both of the restaurants at the reception and can use them each once a week whilst you stay. Spiros works hard and still spends time chatting with guests. Excellent work.
Overall the staff seem to go out of their way to make your stay effortless. Any problems are dealt with quickly and efficiently. The staff come from many different countries and all speak many languages. This has to be the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in. All the staff are a credit to it.
Ok a few bits of information that I would have liked to know.
Pool towels can be collected from 10, plenty of beds around the pools and on the beach. Don't bother with bringing snorkels as there aren't many fish to see. The water is crystal clear, the beach is shingle so wear beach shoes.
We didn't have any mosquito problems but the staff said it is every other year that they become a pain.
The entertainment was good but if you want an early night ask for a room away from the reception as it was loud sometimes. It does finish by 11 pm so not a problem.
This hotel is designed for couples not groups, which makes it as quiet as you want it to be. The age group is mainly over 50 and from UK, Germany and France we had no problems with any of this as like an easy life.
The toilets have plastic bags to put your toilet paper in as you can't flush it down the pan. Once you get used to it then it's fine.
All the bar staff make good drinks and remember your order as you walk to the bar.
The snack bar by the smaller pool does toasties and crepes during the day as well as pastries in the afternoon.
There was always a sun bed somewhere to have so no need to put your towels down earl, unless you are one of those sad people.
We did two trips through the reps first was the day trip to Turkey, don't bother as it was a lot of waiting around for 4 hours in Bodrum which is like any other seaside resort. It was a waste of a day. The second was the agean cruise, this was not too bad as you visited three islands and had a walk round also we saw a few dolphins.
You can hire a car in reception but we went over the road to eco rentals and hired a car for a few days. The driving there is easy and relaxed we managed to get round the island and saw some great sights. €70 for the two days.
As I have said this is a fantastic hotel and every member of staff works hard, we tipped at the end of our stay, there ar tip boxes in the restaurant and bar areas. You can tip individual staff as well as putting money in the boxes, tips are never asked for and you will receive excellent service anyway. The four of us had a wonderful holiday so thank you Oceanis for looking after us.

Spent 10 nights here at the beginning of May, could not fault a single thing. Every member of staff was so unbelievably nice and polite. An amazing location beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms, amazing weather, drinks were good food was good, food could maybe be difficult for a fussy eater but plenty of choice. Not a big fan of the full length trousers for dinner but not that big of a deal. Would 100% go back and would recommend to anyone. Entertainment team were great, bar staff were great, waiting staff were great, quite literally could not fault a thing. Our time was made especially better and were made to feel very welcome by Holly, Louie and Kostas.

Thanks Oceanis, was a pleasure.
