“just got home today and overall a great holiday”
Reviewed 27 August 2011

I returned from the agean view today, and felt I had to comment. Having read some of the horror stories on here I was getting really worried before I left, as it is the first big holiday I have taken with my daughter as a single mum.
We arrived late at night, and the room we were given was disappointing, bit smelly and pokey, generally grotty. I phoned to reception and was told they would move us in the morning.
And they did. After apologising and showing me a new room first to make sure it was suitable, we changed, quickly and easily. The new room was light and airy, had a balcony with amazing views. basic, but clean and had what we needed.
The pools were clean, I didnt see any glass or cracks. We loved the waterpark and it made a nice change to go there. No bar or snacks though so take a drink up with you. The entertainment was fine, not in your face full on jam packed, but waterpolo, aqaufit, music quizes, karioke, usual stuff.
The staff were generally polite, extremely efficient and work incredibly hard. The bar staff are efficient, you are only allowed 2 alcoholic drinks at a time, but no limits on soft drinks. They dont have much time to chat as they are busy. At 11 the all inclusive goes off and you have to pay, but this really is a family orientated resort, not suitable if you are looking for late night lock ins!
The food was lovely, fresh and varied, and lots of healthy options inc fish and liver. lots of fresh salads . We went three times to the taverna aswell and loved it, wonderful open views up there and more ambience than the main food hall
No ants or mossie issues, i got bitten once on my little finger, my daughter didnt get bitten at all.We were vigilant about applying mossie spray and this did the trick.
The only element of the complex I did find hard was how very hard the staff worked, without much of a break, and I felt sorry for them, i gather the owner is something of a task master, but that was my only concern.
This is a long review, but I felt it necessary after having been so anxious myself after reading the negative comments on here!!!
Overall a great holiday, laid back complex, family orientated, easy to get bus into town, the boat trip was fantastic, and there were life jackets on board ( I checked first), clean rooms, good food, good value for money, beautful setting. Happy days.

Room Tip: email in advance and be very specific about your needs. I

Stayed for 2 weeks as a family of 5, are kids are 10, 6, and 3.
Had a really great time here, with plenty for the kids to do. Our room was at top of hill with own private pool, with stunning views, would definatley reccomend room 107, is a bit of a trek up hill but views amazing, and you can get a lift in golf cart if you don'nt want to walk.
Food was great to start with but did get a bit repetitive, and is best to break this up with meals in kos town, (some beautiful tavernas and places to eat in old kos town) did also try the resort taverna twice which was a nice change. The animation team were great, and the entertainment at night was good fun.
Was a bit dissapointed with the kids club as had hoped all 3 kids would have used it, but was only suitable for 3 year old who went in twice, and because he could come and go as he wanted had to be constantly watching if he had come out or not.
We used the main pool most of the time as this is were the snacks, ice-cream and drinks were, and also kids made lots of friends here.
Would'nt waste time going to there private beach, it is full of litter and not very nice at all. We got a taxi twice to Tigaki which has a beautiful white sandy beach and a lovely little town, with shops and tavernas. the taxi cost 22euros each way and took about 20 mins to get there
Would definatley recommend this resort to families.

This place is soooo nice ! Great pools, great food and great weather ! The only thing that lets it down is the 'private beach' as its the worst beach I have ever been on. Do not waste you're time going to this 'beach', its tiny, full of rocks/stones and even old carpet ! If you want a beach holiday, look elsewhere on the Island. Luckily, the Aegean View resort more than makes up for this so just stay there ! We spent 7 nights there and really wanted to stay longer. Its a mixture of British and Dutch people and everyone got on fine, no problems ! Lots of competitions like water polo, darts and table tennis during the day and good entertainment at night too. You MUST take the boat trip, at only 15 euros, its fantastic value and an awesome experience. Sailing to the Island of Pserimos first, for a stroll on the beach and/or swim in the crystal clear sea before setting off to a cove where the boat drops anchor, you have lunch, then dive into the beautiful clear sea. Its a 'must do' trip. All in all, this was a great holiday despite the lack of any sandy beaches but the resort was excellent and I would definitely go back !

Room Tip: You get what you pay for. We had the 'bronze' which was small but just right for us.

on arrival we were served chilled cream cakes and drinks a very nice touch, the room was very clean and we had no complaints apart from no kettele, this took about 4 days and 10 euros to resolve.the food at the restuarant was great a good choice of foods all very tasty, the staff were polite enough but lacked personality, and on more than one instance food was removed from the table before we had finished.you are a bit remote but you can catch a bus ride into kos town or car hire is pretty cheap from the hotel.the entertainment was ok but a bit repetitive, a nice clean place to stay with the cleanest pools i have seen in a long time

I booked this holiday for me and my 14 year old daughter. We arrived at the resort late at night and were given a warm welcome and a sandwich and water which I thought was nice. The information leaflet was helpful and we found the staff at reception friendly and helpful. food was fine plenty choice. We got the shuttle bus down to the beach one day and travelled in to Kos town on the bus a couple of times. We went out on the boat trip which cost 15 euros each. It was a great day our the boat staff were friendly and attentive and took us to some lovely beaches and round the Turkish coast. I would recommend this trip.
The hotel had lovely pools plenty of sun loungers. The accommodation was great very clean rooms no problems with insects. The entertainment was okay but very based towards children but we still enjoyed it. We had a fantastic time and would love to go back.

we went as a family of 5, with 3 teenagers. the room was very small and cramped for all of us we didn't have a balcony or patio area. the room was near the water park at the top of the hill which was the only bonus as the kids loved the water park. good job as the animation was mainly for younger children. there is only a bar by the main pool at the bottom so if you want a drink or snack you have to go all the way down and you need to remember to take a bottle of water back up. there where lots of pools around the complex and they where very clean. the food at the snack was poor and quite often cold but the food was ok in the restaurant . the bar staff was very miserable and even though we paid all inclusive it felt they didn't want you have it. you could only fetch one drink at a time which isn't good if you have young children to watch, if you both wanted a drink later on in the evening you both had to go to the bar,. the reception staff were also quite miserable and unhelpful. the boat trip was an absolute nightmare it was very rough and there were no life jackets on board we ended up getting back 2 hours later than expected and sailing in the dark the kids were crying even some of the men were crying it was very frightening. kos is a lovely place and the complex is also a lovley but some of the things let it down it is probably better for younger children.

Room Tip: most rooms have a great view but not have balconies so beware!!

Very unsafe for children around the pools. Glass missing around high areas, my son fell 7ft onto his head (He got away remarkable luckily with his injuries) and when staff was informed and shown nothing was done about the missing glass. I was told by staff the owner would do nothing!! Waterpark pool very dangerous, also very high drops with not adaquate safety measures. Air Con in room sounded like a train in our room it was so noisy and TV did not even pick up a picture. Food was ok in main resteraunt but Taverna was so bad I walked out. Major fly and wasp problem there..not clean. End of holiday we did not stay in hotel and went into town which cost 9 Euros each way in taxi so not worth going all inclusive at this hotel. If the owner spent a few pounds on safety and kept general maintenance up the hotel would be great but maintenance is not done here.....
