About Moalboal:
I would recommend this place for divers only. There is no beach at the hotel and only 2 beaches in the area which are not very nice compared to the region (we have better beach in HK!!). We chose to diver here because it is very convenient to reach this place (direct flight from HK + 2.5hours drive by taxi for $110 return). The "tuk tuk" you might use to go to the village (for bars/restaurants) is a complete rip off. Even though I am happy to pay tourist prices, I'm not willing to pay twice the price of a taxi ride in HK. Either negotiate hard (and simulate to walk away) or rent a motorbike at the hotel (PHP400 a day).

About the hotel:
You only get what you pay for so dont expect luxury. The room & bathroom are basic & small but very clean. The swilling pool is however very nice. Food is only average (and was a big deception based on the other reviews and the price paid...).

The hotel has been built in 2006.

staff:
All staff members are really wonderful. We really felt at home.

Weren't really sure what to expect not having been to the Philippines before but were REALLY happy with our choice. Fe and Chis were lovely and very accomodating. The food that was prepared was delicious and there was a really good variety on offer. There is a great pool in the resort and the gardens are lovely to stroll around. All in all it was a really pleasant stay and we would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants a relaxing break. The only thing to be careful of though is to make sure that you take enough cash with you as there are no ATMs in Moalboal and the resort does not take credit card. You can use Payal but there is a 4% fee associated with this.

My husband and I spent only 3 days and felt so sad leaving it so soon.
After a 2 ½ hour trip from the airport, which we found in the beginning to be to far to reach, we were warmly received by the owner Chris & Fe.
Our mood changed in an instant seeing the beautiful vegetation going towards our Bungalow and opening our room even exceeded all our expectations. It was very tastefully arranged with a sparkling clean bathroom. The bed is maybe for some people a bit firm, but for my self just perfect after having had traveled for some time.
Then lunch was waiting for us and to our surprise it was taken on a big table with all guests sitting around. It was just like walking into somebody’s living and dinning room. And again, what a master Fe is in going into the small details and color combination in her décor. I couldn’t have done it better 
The food served over the three days was excellent and nicely balanced. You could choose from Fish, Veggies, Meat, Rice or Noodles & desert.
Diving was great and the dive-shop was well equipped and clean. I would recommend just bring your basic’s. Everything else can be rented and definitely all new and in good conditions.
All in all, it was a fantastic time spent in this resort and getting to know each family member and guests while having interesting and full of laughter conversations during meals and just popping into each other. We are definitely coming back and for a longer stay.
Good luck to the White Family and warm wishes.

Had a week here on my own (literally ... it turned out I was the only guest! I think this is unusual though). I had a great week, the resort really is lovely with beautiful landscaping and attractive rooms, most with a bit of a sea view. The food was absolutely fantastic - plenty of fresh fish, squid, etc in a Filipino/Thai style. Eating is a communal affair so don't be surprised to find yourself seated at one big table with your fellow guests! The owners, Fi and Chris, really take great pride in the resort and seem genuinely concerned for the happiness of their guests. The diving in the region is good and the resort's boats and equipment were well maintained with high safety standards (oxygen on the boats and back up radio's etc). The staff were great. The only slight negatives I would say were the selling of dried seahorses at Reception and the price of hire equipment, which did seem quite high.
