“Great quiet spot to get away”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

I stayed with two children 9 and 12 years, we were in the dolphin watch room. Great to wake up and pull curtains to see the sea every morning. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Took some intro dive trips which were great. Saw turtles off the house reef. Kids were happy and safe onshore drinking mango milkshakes. Easy to go into Moalboal if you want a change of scenery but we were there for peace and quiet and the snorkelling. Even though no house beach, local beach was short kayak away. Lovely and relaxing , will come again.

We opted for this resort due to the lack of good/competitive resorts at the 'White' Beach at Moalboal, which really does not deserve this label. We might be a bit spoiled with regards to beaches, but this beach is really nothing special. You can do much better in the Philippines. I must admit though that we are not divers. It's likely very nice for divers, but if you don't dive, don't bother going there.

The resort is OK, but not more. The price for the rooms (which are really basic) is on the upper limit. However, the prices for the food are excessive (and it appears that we are not the only ones here who made this observation). I can't help but commenting that 4 slices of toast and a banana with coffee are not a Continental Breakfast and not worth PHP 200. Better go to Panagsama Beach for lunch or diner, where you find lots of restaurants with good food and fair prices but you need a motorbike or tricycle to go there, which is the other problem at this resort - there aren't any, unless the manager calls one. So you're mobility is somewhat limited.

May be you did not notice the white beach some 300 meters away or the dozen resorts there ,but at a much high price per night . Its true many resorts there do not have restaurants there sence they can not be profitable . The cost of finished food starts at the local market and with a 6 % inflation rate each year food cost rise

Divemasters Daniel & Roland are absolutely 1st-class in terms of technique & preparation, according to our experience. Special thumbs-up to Roland, with his unbridled enthusiasm for diving, which really inspired us. His sharing of techniques, knowledge of the marine environment, & readiness to discuss & answer questions at any time was great motivation for our diving. Warm, friendly, & relaxed atmosphere at the resort, staff always happy to have a chat & check how things were with us. Strongly recommended for learning diving or extending skills to advanced Padi level (us). Lots of underwater stuff to see within a short boatride of the resort. Overall, our best diving experience so far!

Room Tip: Definitely prefer the larger room esp as there were 3 of us

If You want to spend days in peace and quiet choose this place. Homey atmosphere and cosy resort with beautiful sunset view and nice garden.Tidal coast, but straight access to sea, if You would like to do snorkeling(house reef) or rent kayak(for free) it is helpful. Food is good, asian and western selection, a bit pricy. Garden cottages very simple, as they supposed to be.Bed sheets and towels should be change for new. Managers and staff are very friendly and helpful. 20 min walk or 10 min kayaking from nice sandy beach. Snorkeling and scuba diving on v.good level.Wi-fi for free, but not reaching cottages to well.
If You are looking for chill out go there.

The Dutch managers, Roland and Monique, will do everything they can to make your stay a happy one. They really understand what hospitable and efficient management is. There's good access to decent snorkeling, although you might need to wade a ways at low tide. The dive operation is professional, and the food is tasty and varied.

Unfortunately, the accommodation is overpriced, and the resort shows serious signs of wear. The so-called "native cottages" are a block of simple joined rooms that afford little privacy, and the deteriorated nature of the walkways means a lot of dirt and sand tend to get tracked in. If it's a week-end or holiday, and many non-guests are using the beach and eating in the restaurant, it will be crowded and noisy until they leave. The couple of newer and pricier rooms off to the side are very nice, but you might want to look at what else is to be had nearby in that price range.

You might want to book for three nights, and take a trike to look at some other options in Panagsama or White Beach, before booking for any longer period. It isn't paradise, as some have suggested, but it's a long way from hell.

This Resort ist just a huge Rip Off! We chose this place because of the location and the good reviews it got on Trip Advisor.
We travelled a lot so far in our lives and especially the philippines, and this place beats everything we have seen so far in a negative way. While the staff and the Dutch Couple does a great job in welcomig you and being hospitable, the basic rooms are really bad. The ceiling hangs down, windows don't close fully, the aircon does not deliver the cool it should and worst of all:
The BEDSHEETS STINK and feel like they have not been washed! So far this has been the grossest stay for us.

On top of that we were extremely dissapointed by the food, as it is mentioned in previous reviews the price is rather expensive, so we expected to notch food. What we got was just mediocre to bad! The food portions are just mediocre as well, and it just appears that the owner wants to rip off tourists. The resort totally does not deliver what it should for it's price. Now we are staying in Cebu City in a five Star hotel, we are paying less for food, and have bigger and better tasting portions. Stay away and go to other resorts instead. This place is a total rip-off. We payed 7000 PHP on food for just two days (2 adults two children, drinking only water, and single portion) so do the math yourself! Laundry cost us 75 PHP per Kilo, only to receive the clothes back still somewhat damp, not really folded, and not even fully cleaned...i can only repeat myself, just a RIP-OFF!!!

If diving is the only reason you want to go this resort might be for you, otherwise BEWARE AND STAY AWAY! We were very dissapointed.

We stayed at Asian Belgian Resort Feb17-20 2014 for diving and relaxing.

POSITIVE FEEDBACK: Small and private. Cozy place. Kind Filipina female helpers. That's it!

NEGATIVES:
>no sandy beach shore. VERY BAD SHORE full of rocks.
>NO POOLS. Nothing to do for the space of the resort is too small.
>the menu was limited and poor.
>The WORST DIVING EXPERIENCE with the Dive Master/owner Ronald. He was unkind to us. He shouted and scolded me because of my first dived as I got really nervous and so he was pulling me like a real beginner in diving underwater and that made me more nervous (I'm and ADVANCED) As we resurfaced he scolded me and doubt me if I am really licensed or not (just because I am a filipina !) he was also a liar telling us it is not possible to dive in PESCADOR ISLAND because of the strong current but for 1week and 3 days after choosing nearby dive shop we dived in Pescador everyday! and no strong current at all! He criticized me because I am a filipina and he is not used to that. He is an arrogant person and he didnt make his me feel comfortable underwater.

WE WILL NEVER STAY IN THIS RESORT AGAIN. There are many better resorts around and I highly recommend club serena or moalboal beach resort.
