Had the pleasure of being a guest in this hotel last weekend and stayed there for 2 nights and for once could have easily stayed for another 5! It's located in the grounds of Ashford Castle so the drive to it is amazing. The hotel itself is housed within an old Georgian Country House but is contemporary in design internally. This works surprising well with a great fusion between old and new.

Upon arrival I was met curteously by a lovely staff member who showed me to my room. The hotel is pure luxury and amazingly decorated. My room was fabulous with all the added extras you can imagine - it even had a roll top copper bath. The best thing about the whole stay was definitely the bed - if I could bring it home with me I would! That and the goose-down quilt!!

The heated floor in the bathroom was another favourite of mine! There were also little touches, like the turn down service and the complimentary newspaper in the morning. Had my breakfast in bed and the menu offered great choice.

The restaurant has a fabulous menu and the athmosphere is lovely overlooking the Lough. My meal was beautiful and the wine well chosen by the manager.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone looking for a really special weekend. Would recommend a visit to the hot tub located in an orchard garden looking over the harbour & lake - pure romance - Loved it!!!!!

This hotel is just opened and seems to have great potential for the future. It’s located above Lough Corrib with stunning views of the lake.
A few minor teething problems and kinks to be ironed out in this newly renovated hotel (built in and adjoining an old country house) but that was to be expected. These were dealt with by an always helpful, friendly and courteous staff.
As part of a large group booking, we all received individual attention throughout the weekend. Especially with any extra requests which we had for the group.

The bedrooms are again newly built and are finished to a very high standard with plenty of creature comforts and mod-cons etc.
Bar food menu was limited and a bit pricey for what we received.

Our biggest disappointment was with parts of the interior which are dark and gaudy. The fantastic views and imposing country house are not done justice by black woodwork, red lamps and dark hallways. I think its designed to be modern and chic but we felt it missed the mark and betrayed the country house which was the main attraction!

We would recommend the hotel again and look forward to returning when its fully up and running and the interiors are brightened!
