I struggled whether to give this 4 or 3 stars..but since 3 means average I decided to go with that.

We stayed one night at Breezy Heights and it worked well. The hospitality of our hosts was outstanding. They had some pie awaiting us when we arrived and made us coffee. The location of their place is wonderful. While the narrow road may give some reservations, it gave me an idea of what locals live like in Ireland...and the distance on that road is quite short.

The house is in good shape. The room overall was good, very spacious with a large closet, however, my girlfriend and I left with two complaints both about cleanliness. There were a few dead house flies on the floor. Also, the space heater and TV definitely had not been dusted in a long time. It was perplexing why this was the case since the rest of the room and house was so clean. The flies may be from the fact that they were replacing all their windows the week that we arrived. We weren't disgusted, but rather surprised, as we wouldn't see this in any other B&B we stayed at.

The great parts of this place besides it being nestled away but still close to Cong are the hosts and the view from the dining room. You will have a great view of the lake in the morning. The place is surrounded by farmland and sheep are grazing right next door. Most of all the hosts are outstanding. They offer choices beyond Irish Breakfast or Continental in the morning. They suggested a few places for dinner and the one we went to (The Pyramid) made our best meal in Ireland and at a great price for tons of food. They also let us in on a secret of how to get into the grounds of Ashford Castle without paying. Finally, this place was 15 - 20 Euro less expensive per night than the other B&B's we stayed at in Dublin.

Overall a good experience, but I would have made this 4-5 stars if the dust were taking care of, and the dead flies off (2 or 3 of them) the carpet.

We stayed at Breezy Heights in August and had the most beautiful weather which afforded us the luxury of really enjoying the spectacular views this B&B has to offer. Rooms were cozy, clean and private. The owners were gracious with their conversation and company and were quick to reccommend points of interest for our travel. We have been to Ireland many times but this was the first time we forewent a hotel and tried a Bed and Breakfast and we both agree that is how we will room in the future.

We stayed at Breezy Heights when the weather was really cold. To make matters worse the heating was switched on for the bare minimum and on the last day was switched off completely. We switched on the fan heater in the bathroom and the room filled with dust, it didn't appear to have ever been cleaned, along with everything else in the place.
There was no extractor fan in the bathroom and no window and the bathroom suite was out of the arc.
The light switches, plug points, in fact pretty well everything, was dusty and dirty.
The only thing that was acceptable was the breakfast. We won't be going back.
