Owner description: A chance for you to fly a hawk around the spectacular grounds of Ashford Castle in a private one hour Hawk Walk. No-one ever forgets the moment when their hawk first swoops down from a tree to land on their gloved fist - Flying a hawk is an experience of a lifetime!

Our host, Laura, was informative, friendly and fun. Flying the hawks was amazing, and an experience of a lifetime.

Great time with Tommy and our falcons. Lovely way to spend an afternoon. Wear wellies or suitable footwear.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. It's absolutely amazing to fly an actual hawk. Our guide was great as well and we learned a lot about hawking and hunting. Yes, it's expensive, but it is so worth it. We did the shorter walk and I wish we had done the linger, but we really enjoyed our walk.

This is a great place that provides an absolutely thrilling activity. Enjoyment was so great we went back two days later and did it again. Our guide Mark was extremely knowledgable about the various birds and their habits/tendencies. First day he had us fly on the castle walk-ways allowing for long flights of the hawks. What a feeling to have the birds glide onto your glove to get food and then cast them off again. Second time we went into the woods to watch the hawks dash and dart through the trees at speed. I would do this again in a minute!

This was a much anticipated activity on our trip. It would have been difficult to meet my expectations, but in fact, they were exceeded!

Our guide told us all about the birds, how they are cared for, how they hunt, etc. They we each took a hawk, and under the guidance of Conall, we took them for a long walk on the Castle grounds and in the woods. They took off from the gloves on our arms, flew to the trees, and then came back to us many times.

It is an extraordinary experience to watch these birds fly through the trees, swoop down and then come up to land on your arm. I cannot say enough good things about this!
