I spent a weekend at this hotel, mainly chosen on the basis that it is within a reasonable walking distance of the Flieger-Flab-Museum. However, if you go there for the same reason then it’s handy to know that the museum is on the northern side of the railway line whereas the hotel is on the southern side. Cross the line at the railway station and the total walk is about 10/12 minutes.
The hotel is right in the centre of Dübendorf and an easy walk from the railway station, downhill all the way. It’s easy to find too. I would say the hotel facilities are basic but then the price matches. It would be a cheap place to stay if you were doing the tourist thing in Zürich and the city centre is only three stops away on the S-Bahn. My room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast is standard bread, butter, jam and coffee included in the room price. I loved the coffee served with hot milk.
I ate in the hotel on one night, mostly because it was too cold to go out. I was offered a choice of dishes without seeing the à la carte menu and I’m guessing there is a special arrangement offered for hotel guests. I’m glad I chose pasta, as a good selection showed up involving four individual types each prepared differently. It was delicious and more reasonably priced than I had paid...I spent a weekend at this hotel, mainly chosen on the basis that it is within a reasonable walking distance of the Flieger-Flab-Museum. If I ever return to Dübendorf, which is a possibility as I want to fly the Ju 52, then I will stay at this hotel again.More
