The pictures of the hotel portray it as a country house retreat, set in grounds with a relaxing spa.
This isn't the case - it's on a main road on the outskirts of St Asaph, and the interior looks like it hasn't been touched in 20 years. if you fancy late 80's Travelodge chic, then this is the place to go.
The 'superior' room we stayed in reminded me of the inside of a portacabin. Steer clear.
Breakfast was pretty good, until I tried the tomato juice - this was probably procured at about the same time as the interior décor as it had fermented and was very, very off. No apology was offered when I returned it.
The price is fairly obscene when you consider the state of the hotel - this is a £60 a night hotel, not a £100+ location. Unfortunately, there isn't a huge amount of choice in St Asaph, so it was best of a bad bunch.
Steer clear unless you really have to.More
