“A very different kind of retreat!”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

Alfredo and his staff were very accommodating (we had reserved a regular quadruple room and we were upgraded - for just a bit more $$ - to bungalows over the water. Amazing views.

the property is very "natural" (and they make every effort to conserve its natural beauty as much as possible) full of animals, and lush with vegetation.

Would definitely recommend and hope to be back one day!

Our stay at Saiananda was wonderful! Alfred, Guillermo and the staff made us feel right at home for our two nights. The animals who share the property also made us feel at home. All of our meals were scrumptious! We were upgraded to a room right on the river. The room was very comfortable and serene. A very nice stop on our trek around Ecuador. Alfred set up a tour of the mangrove island that was very special. We also enjoyed a nice evening walking around Bahia de Caraquez.

We were welcomed into Saiananda like family, after a long day and night of traveling. We were given a upgraded room on the bay, complete with glass - bottomed floor, and able to check in early. Food was an amazing vegetarian feast for Christmas Eve dinner, and a delicious Christmas breakfast before heading to our next location.
If we are ever back in the area, we will be sure to stop by Saiananda again.

We booked into Saiananda for one night and stayed for two it was so beautiful. Room 21 in the building over the river was amazing. Beautiful woodwork and a bathroom with a planter and windows over the river makes this a special place. The hammock on the balcony was hard to leave. Alfredo and staff were fantastic.we will return as soon as possible. An extra tip. If you would like to do something for the local community while in Bahia ask Alfredo about the school that he works with.

Room Tip: Ask for building over the river. We think # 21 is the best.

This hotel was a special treat for business travel. I have never experienced a hotel stay where I was more welcomed and had the opportunity to be surrounded by trees, flowers and animals. A truly peaceful retreat to return to after a busy day. My room was beautiful and looked over the sea with a balcony to relax and enjoy the view. Meals were vegetarian and tasty. I will definitely book this as my preferred hotel if my travels bring me back to Bahia.
All staff were very kind, especially the owner Alfredo - who was always there to assist you.

Room Tip: Select the room that overlooks the water. When the tide comes in the water is all all around and be...

i had been several times in Saiananda is one of the best places to stay very confortable, and full of peace. Once you arrive there you can feel how the enviroment surround yourself with joy and happiness, the animals around and the nice view is perfect to relax, there are new rooms which are located over the sea, that's the best place to stay because of the view it´s so nice, even more at night! you can see the lights quite far, reflected over the sea and there is also a nice balcony where there's an hamaca... you can take a nap and feel the breeze, plus Ecuador has the best weather, pacific ocean most of the times is always warm water sea! the food it's great "la guatita" or "ceviche de concha" its very tasty, even is soya is the best vegetarian food ever! well one of my faves places to visit!

Room Tip: choose the rooms over the sea :)

When you get there you get amazed by the nature! It is like being on the jungle. The Hotel is placed next to the river and has the perfect places to see the mangroves along! The owner and the staff are completely friendly and willing to help you! The place is full of animals, mostly birds! so if you don´t like animals is not your place! The only bad thing i found is that they don´t pay much attention about the cleanliness of the place... As they have many birds the place is full of bird poo! Watch out while walking because you can get bird or iguana poo over you! Besides this the place is amazing and its staff is really nice!
