Saw Polly's Pantry and Drayton Plant Nurseries advertised in one of my local magazines and decided to go and have a look as I also wanted some plants, so off I went. It is a bit off the beaten track but so worth the visit. Lovely selection of plants available (bought far too many) and as I'm not particularly what you might say "green fingered", I got some very good advice from both of the nurserymen there, very pleasant, friendly and helpful. I bought my plants and then decided to pop into the coffee shop for coffee and cake. Oh dear............so much to choose from and not good for the waistline ! I had a latte and a delicious homemade scone with clotted cream and jam.......well it's the law in Somerset ! I have been again since and had the savoury scone "cream tea", absolutely gorgeous especially if you don't fancy something sweet. Really pleasant place to sit and while away some time (free wi-fi too), prettily decorated and with nice background music. Staff very friendly and helpful and what I also liked is that everything is home made and they also use as many local suppliers as possible (coffee, bread, some of the cakes, teacakes etc). Well worth a trip out there and I will be back, hopefully with my disabled friend as they have good wheelchair access there. Sincerely hope they get the support from the local area as it is a hidden gem.
