Well, this is the eve of us departing Tuscany and chose to return to this gem hidden in the hills of San Boronto, near Lamporecchio.
We returned here because of all the food we have eaten, and in some cases not eaten in Tuscany, this was the best by a country mile. Although a set menu may put some people off, you would be wrong to swerve this one. Although it was just a little over a week since our first visit the menu had changed but was still a delight to eat every dish that came out of the kitchen.
We waited with anticipation as to what would appear next. My partner is a vegetarian so I did make a brief phone call at around 3pm to let them know. ( I didn't get through but they called me back ).
I must just mention the home grown grape jus, this went extremely well with the thin sliced pork as did the whole cooked grapes ( 1st for me) they were devine. All this wonderful food lovingly accompanied with ample house wine and bottled water followed by coffee, fortified wine and Biscotti biscuits and a cheeky Limoncello or 2 to finish off.
A lovely chat with the chef and his son before we rolled home ❤️
P.S. Claudio Ranieri managed Chelsea and Leicester City...... not Chester......True story
