Scarlett's Garden is a real find! From the beautiful location to the superb food, every little detail has been lovingly considered. It is by far our favourite place to go with friends for wonderful food in a relaxed atmosphere. The owners and staff make you feel welcome and it is truly a home from home little place, wether for a coffee or a full meal.
But don't be in a rush as you will not want to leave!

Although the food was o.k the poor level of service really let them down and spoiled the lunch.
On arrival we sat down and waited for somebody to offer us a menu, which was not forthcoming. My sister got up and asked a gentleman for a menu and was told he would be with us soon, which he was.
After quite a long wait lunch arrived which was o.k if not a little overpriced.
We then waited for our coffees which we ordered when the meal order was taken but again nothing was forthcoming. My sister had to find somebody to ask when the coffees would come which prompted them to finally bring them over. When the coffees arrived my sister asked for a scone and was told it would be a couple of minutes. After half an hour the scone hadn't arrived and as we couldn't wait any longer we had to leave. On paying we mentioned the scone and although an apology was given it really was too little too late.
The cafe didn't seem overly busy but the gentlemen did seem very pre-occupied chatting with another table. I'm not sure if that was the cause of the well below expected level of service we received or not, but either way it certainly wasn't acceptable.

Dear 888GB1969

Thank you for taking the time to express your service concerns which we do take on board, since your visit we have arranged extra staff for the lunch period ( we are only two months old at the stage of your visit and it was not previously possible to commit to employing staff when we where uncertain of our trade patterns, we now have a better understanding of our popularity and where we need extra help to maintain a good service, so we have made those changes and they will come into effect next week.
It is disappointing that you did not enjoy your visit as you can see from the other reviews this is not our usual style, we wouldn’t wish anyone to leave unhappy. I understand that the food wasn’t to your taste, we do try and ensure that there is something for most tastes, however we have a small seasonal menu that reflects what is good and in season and I appreciate that this may not always be possible to cater for everyone in any style restaurant. We do wish you that you would have mentioned your dissatisfaction when paying or to the member of staff that served you and we would have course tried our best to correct the situation at the time of paying.
We pride ourselves on using local and luxury ingredients from local producers and fine deli suppliers with that everything is home made in house, so I do feel our pricing is in accordance with the quality or produce, setting and execution and our menu offers something consciously different to what is locally available something that is not higher in price to what is a available and comparable locally. Our lunch menu ranges from £2-10, we use fair trade and organic baking ingredients, free range eggs, and beyond because we believe in using quality ingredients.

I do remember your party as customers as you came as our last lunch customers on Friday as I remember the lost scone! I can only apologize with regards to the service you received. Unfortunately your custom came towards the end of an unexpectedly busy lunch service in which just myself was in the kitchen serving 27 people in just over an hour and half- in which we where understaffed- as a point of reference we had a Saturdays worth of custom, on a Friday -where we would normally have 4 staff, we had only 3 and obviously some mistakes where made in communicating and keeping track of orders. We genuinely want everyone to enjoy there time at Scarlett's and wish to make everyone feel welcome and that they have being look after and it is such a shame that it was not the case for your visit. Do get in touch with myself of George as we would be happy to speak to you in person.
Many Thanks

Aurora and George

Tucked away in Langford Budville but certainly worth a venture off the beaten track.
Warm scones and a selection of homemade cakes, all served with a smile. The view was stunning from where we sat in the garden.
