With a little effort, this could be a great hotel. The food is very good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The front desk staff also doubles as restaurant staff, and one of the ladies who works there is typically in such a bad mood that I felt no matter how nicely I would ask a question, I was a big nuisance. The young male manager, however, was helpful.

They don't put top sheets on the bed and I am almost certain that they didn't change comforter covers between the last guest and I. Both the pillow and duvet covers smelled old and dirty, and there was a musky smell in my room. Also, one of the duvet cover zippers was broken so the duvet was coming out.

Also, they kept forgetting to replenish towels, and didn't bother to replace one of the two comforters in my room. On one day, my phone didn't work (even though the receptionist insisted that it did), the light in my room blew out, and my bed literally collapsed when I got onto the mattress (and I am a small person). The tiny TV in my room must have been from the 80's.

The windows are extremely thin and if you are a light sleeper, you won't rest well.

I find this an over-priced hotel and would not recommend it for business or leisure travelers.

We wanted to stay at Lake Lucerne and decided to stay in Kussnacht instead of the busier side of the Lake. The hotel was in a great location quite close to the lake. The personnel were friendly and helpful. We loved sitting outside in the unique "biergarten" that had tree stumps covered in sheep skin as stools. We enjoyed a really good pizza and beer! The room was clean, the bed a little hard but all in all we enjoyed our stay. Would definately visit again.

Rich history, no future as a hotel (it was quite bad).
Problem are the very loud church bells at about 30 metres from the hotelroom.
The 'hells bells' continue at night (be it less loud 2200 till 0700)

Room was a decent size.
Funiture in my room was mid 70's and in bad shape.
Bathroom with only hand shower.

Service is not very good, personell is hiding from customers.
Maybe they should quit the hotel, and become a decent restaurant / bistro / lounge.
