Gümüşlük is a nice area that you can really feel Bodrum. Here, you can taste a real homecook summer dinner that you can have "meze" with your "rakı". You can pass a real Bodrum's evening with kind crew. They will stop the service at 22:00 so you should go earlier and make a reservation because the restaurant is small. They have only few tables on top of sand so you can get sandy!

We simply loved the experience of dining at the Onion & Garlic. Its position right on the beach is special enough but the fab home cooked food is exemplary. Its a completely different experience to anything else in Gumusluk. The carrot, joghurt & garlic starter is to die for as is the baked (cold) rice pudding with ice cream. The owner is fascinating to talk to & I look forward to seeing her cookbook.

They promise home cooking and that is what you get. Different menu to the other restaurants on the beach - limited to a small number of dishes but all were quite delightful. Only complaint would be that the beach slopes a lot under the tables so it was a strain to stay upright unless you were facing the beach with the table in front.

Food is average and everything else is below average. We have eaten at more expensive places in Bodrum but this one felt the worst at it had nothing to deserve the price tags. Menu does not have many options but the worst part is the service: we had to feed ourselves with bread for an hour before the mezes showed up. Definitely not recommended.
