“Great stay, lovely hosts”
Reviewed 19 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

This house is so nice, there's loads of little touches that show Marty and Melanie have really thought about what they're doing. When we arrived Melanie came round to make sure that we were settled in and was available on the phone throughout our stay to answer questions. They'd even supplied some milk, eggs and most importantly chocolate biscuits!

“Perfect.”
Reviewed 15 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We were in Strangford for a wedding and stayed at the lovely Red Door for four nights. It's perfect. Really well-kitted out house, clean as a new pin, lots of thoughtful touches (basic provisions in the fridge) and wonderfully efficient and friendly owners Marty and Melanie. If you're ever in Strangford (and it's a lovely, lovely place) stay at The Red Door. It's perfect

“Another flying visit, didn't think it could get better but it did!”
Reviewed 5 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

A flying return to The Red Door and this time we brought extra people. We all fitted in comfortably and could see the little extras that had been added since last year. Great hosts, fab property, they seem to have thought of everything! Strangford is a lovely spot, with plenty to do and see. Would totally recommend both the place and property!

“Perfect, family-friendly holiday home”
Reviewed 4 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Just back from a wonderful break in Strangford. The Red Door is a lovely property, modern and spacious with all the comforts of home. Very well geared up for families with young children, it has a range of toys, dvds and a playpark around the corner. It’s a fantastic base for exploring the area, centrally located and just a stones-throwaway from the local pub! Martin and Melanie were friendly and responsive providing extensive information on the property and local area. We felt nothing was too much for them (they even left a few beers, milk, bread, butter and cookies!) I would without hesitation recommend to friends and family to stay at the Red Door. Delighted to have stayed here and hope to visit again soon.

“Great Family holiday at Strangford”
Reviewed 22 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We had a brilliant time with our three kids at the Red Door, loads to do with walks in Castleward, Portaferry and great family friendly places to eat in Strangford. This is our second stay at the Red Door which is a really comfortable place to stay in the heart of the village. Spotlessly clean with and with all the home comforts. Kids are hoping to come back next year for the Festival which we missed this year.

“Perfect holiday house”
Reviewed 15 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

What more could you want for a holiday with teenagers? Trendy house with good wifi and a smart TV for essential Netflix viewing. Shop right next door so no need to bring lots with you. Lovely Artisan Cookhouse close by for fantastic food when Mum needs a break from cooking. All in walking distance to Game of Thrones Winterfell. Brilliant hosts, will definitely be back.

Thanks for the great review. Got to keep the kids happy so the parents can relax! Strangford is a small village but more than its fair share of shops and restaurants, and all on the doorstep. See you next time. Marty and Melanie
