We stayed at Dunsey Beag for a long weekend and thought it was excellent. The cottage itself it just as good as it looks in the photos and was comfortable, warm, well equipped and pristinely clean. The location, near to a little beach on the lough, is lovely - we saw a seal! - and the gardens, shared with the B&B, are really nice. Plenty of places to sit out in the sunshine with a drink. Lots to do in the surrounding area - we visited Mount Stewart, Castle Ward, Newcastle and the Mourne Mountains, but just pottering along the coast roads and stopping off at little beaches was great. Ann and Mark were very welcoming and friendly, which made the stay even better.
A short drive from the picturesque harbour village Strangford Kilclief has a castle, historic church and is on the shore of Strangford lough . Dunsey Beag self catering cottage nestles in a beautiful mature garden with lots of walks along the shore right from the cottage, and a short drive from Castle Ward . The weather was beautiful felt like we'd dropped into a Hobbit or Game of Thrones setting , when we arrived the sea mist was lifting off the shore quite magic ethereal, soo peaceful the sounds of sea and birdsong and no traffic bliss.
