Have just returned from a walking holiday and we spent three nights at this very lovely Hotel. We were upgraded to a beautiful room overlooking Lake Garda, it was exceptional and the views stunning.

Although very overpriced for eating dinner here, we did treat ourselves to a meal the night before we were due to leave. The food was good and the waiters very attentive though a little too solomn.

The staff, including the Receptionist could try to look as though they are enjoying serving the clientele which would improve the atmospher no end. The waitress who serves breakfast is really charming.

Art work abounds which gives the Hotel an interesting slant to the experience.

We found this hotel by researching trip advisor and it has been everything we hoped for. The location is spectacular both in terms of its lakeside position and views, but also being in the beautiful town of Gargnano. Unlike some of the other lakeside towns, Gargnano isn't crowded with tourists, but it does have some good restaurants and a picturesque centre. Traffic is restricted too which makes for much more pleasant wandering, although parking close to your hotel can be an issue. Again Baia D'Oro scores highly as it has its own secure parking across a small street (reservation required). The hotel is small and very friendly. Staff are extremely helpful with the owners speaking good English. The lakeside view rooms 1 and 9 are very spacious with large balconies and magnificent views over the lake. As for the food - it is excellent. Breakfasts are amazing so we ate in the restaurant one evening. We were not disappointed! This is not a cheap hotel, but if we return to Lake Garda, then we wouldn't hesitate to return to Gargnano and Baia D'Oro.

This place is a real gem. We discovered this charming hotel almost 15 years ago and have stayed several times since. It has always been a favorite----a quintessential hotel of the Italian lake. It is well situated in the lake side town of Gargnano. It‘s located right on the lake with a beautiful terrace and dock. At night you can hear the water lapping the shore from your room. The hotel has been completely renovated, while still retaining its charm and character. The rooms are large and modern, with marble bathrooms, some with balconies. Every comfort has been considered. The restaurant serves delicious meals. We especially enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast on the terrace. The staff is very helpful and friendly, especially Carolina Terzi, granddaughter of G.B. Terzi, the famous artist and original owner of the Baia D’oro. We met the artist on our first visit and loved his work. Now his art is featured throughout the hotel and in a small gallery close by.
This is a favorite!

Gargnano is a small quiet village on the west side of Lake Garda. The hotel Baia D'Oro is in an even quieter part of the village but only a short stroll to the ferry, the shops, the restaurants along the lake front and the gelato. The hotel itself is small and very well appointed. Our room had a private balcony overlooking the lake - if you are going to stay on the lake side, you really ought to have a room overlooking the lake - but also with views up to the mountains. The hotel's terrace for breakfast, dinner, sunbathing, reading, not doing anything literally is lapped by the lake and the hotel has a mooring if you brought your boat - which some guests do. Breakfast is an absolute treat and just seems to keep coming. The staff could not have been more helpful. We also stayed for dinner on the terrace on our first night which was magical, the food good, the house white excellent but a little more expensive than an independent restaurant ... although for that location, it was worth it. A special place for the room, the owners attention to detail, the lovely staff, the terrace, the village and the lake. Would I return? You bet!

Room Tip: Push the boat out - if you have one - and ask for a lake view.

Intimate place, seemed pleasantly small, with gracious staff. Airy space, quiet location a little outside the main town center, but within easy walking distance. The parking lot is a bit of a walk, but then the hotel does make parking easy in a town where it’s very hard. We had a huge room with private balcony directly overlooking the lake. People were swimming right from the terrace where meals are served. Breakfast was terrific, with fresh fruit, bread, juice, eggs cooked to order. We also had dinner there: it was good, a little overpriced, but you’re paying for candlelit outdoor meal with a view of boats.

Gabriele Terzi, the GM and owner of this extremely charming gem, went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely perfect. We were traveling with our two young daughters and booked the suite which is on the second floor overlooking the Lake. It has a bedroom where our 4 year old stayed, a small room with the closet where our baby sleep in addition to a space that I can certainly describe as a junior suite were my husband and I slept. It worked wonderfully for our family! The restaurant Gabriele manages is a gem
as well and is exquisite with gorgeous motorboats docking in front to taste the beautiful food. I loved my beef carpaccio with porcini and Parmesan topped with black truffle that he picked the night before. The tagliatelle with porcini were undescribable... Delicious. All I can say is I cannot go back!!! Thank you Gabriele!!!

Baia D'Oro is a small hotel with about 12 rooms (I think). It is a 5 minute walk to the the village of Gargnano. There are also several restaurants in the immediate vicinity. It's a lovely colourful building, consisting of converted houses and it all looks freshly refurbished. Our room was spacious and comfortable. They have Wi-fi, although not in the room. Breakfast was outstanding and served on the lake-view terrace on Lake Garda by a very friendly waitress. Shame about food and drink prices (they charged a ridiculous price for a small beer, compared with other restaurants in the area).
