“The best spot on lake Garda”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2012

Me and my husband rented a car and stayed at four different places around lake Garda and gargnano and this little hotel was the highlight of our trip. Breakfast was wonderful, the pool picturesque looking over the lake (water was quite cold!) , location with the views could not have been bettered and it was a lovely short walk to the village centre. Our room had a balcony which was welcome surprise as we chose the cheapest rated room. The owners were so helpful and made our stay very special. Really great value for money! I also highly recommend the walk to saint Valentines hermitage. Stunning views and a rewarding walk!

We visited Gargnano and the Hotel Europa again this year and were not disappointed. Its still a family run property in a delightful old village.
This year we had time to visit the swimmimg pool which is at the family's other property about 50 metres down the road. Its in a wonderful historic terraced garden setting, and I did something I have not done before, eat a cherry direct from the tree.
Rooms have air conditoning and a safe and as before the free car park is very welcome.
Enjoyed our breakfasts and thanks to the lady who cooked our eggs to order and made great coffees for us.
Happy to stay again when we revisit the area.

Room Tip: Room 20 has a balcony, with great lake views and is fairly large.

We booked this hotel on a whim trying to keep our budget down and it turned out to be the best stay of our vacation. Mostly due to the village it is situated in. Gargnano is small but we loved how it unlike other places around the lake feels unexploited by tourism. While the hotel it self is a bit dated you definitely feel that the staff really cares about it and compared to other hotels around the lake it is a bargain. Nothing to complain about really. The parking lot could have been bigger but such worldly problems are easily forgotten in such beautiful surroundings.

Room Tip: Get a room with a lake view as the hotel is right by the main road.

We stayed here for 3 niights on business/pleasure. Our corner room was a superior double with a large lovely balcony framed by bouganvllla and with a fabuous view of the lake, the town below, the Dom steeple, and the hills behind the hotel. No need for air conditioning, as we kept the balcony doors open to let in the cool lake breezes, and used our balcony as our primary living space whenever we were in our room (there is an oulet on the balcony to plug in a laptop, too). The room is large by European standards, more than ample room for two or even three people, and simply but quite adequately furnished. Free wifi with a strong signal. Free parking, too.
The service is impeccable. Staff and proprietor are unfailingly friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, and were extremely accommodating. The breakfast was ample and delicious, with homemade breads and local fruit preserves, and a continuous supply of cappucino.
The hotel is a short, picturesque walk to the main square and is close to one of the lake beaches. The hotel pool is located about a 3 minute walk across the main road on an adjacent property. This was at the most a minor inconvenience, as the pool location is on a private terrace with another spectacular lake view.
I have traveled extensively and have stayed ieverything from hostels to five star resorts in the US, Europe and Asia. Hotel Europa is a charming, cozy gem of a hotel in a beautiful location on Lake Garda. I was completely satisfied with my stay and found it to be an exceptional value.

We stayed here for two nights with friends on our way back to Bergamo Airport after a tour of northern Italy.
The Hotel looked OK on the website and met all our requirements on paper. When we got there it was ideal. Quiet village, very Italian about 10 minutes from the little harbour. Our room had a great view of the lake with a large balcony and was clean and comfortable. The family who ran the hotel were friendly, helpful and made us most welcome.
There was an off road car park (free) and all our food was wonderful.
Lake cruises were available from the harbour and this is the best way to see some of the more touristy towns where driving and parking can be a nightmare!

Room Tip: Ask for Room 10, may be small premium but worth i.

Excellent service from extremely dedicated staff who actually care about their customers.
Beautiful location in a beautiful village beside Lake Garda. Swimming pool is gorgeous and is not overly crowded. Relaxed atmosphere for an ideal getaway.

Rooms adequate. WiFi etc. Breakfast - generous great variety. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough.
