Situated in the lovely village of Manerba del Garda, the trip to the restaurant was very promising. As we were early, we had a drink at the terrace of the icecream shop at a small square just above the restaurant: lovely views at low cost.
After this, we descended to the Ristorante Capriccio gifted with a Michelinstar. The setting is agreeable and spacious. The food however was not up to standard. We had no idea why Michelin has donated their star to this kitchen (and are even more surpised it is not withdrawn for 2012): creativity is lacking, tastes can be more pronounced, and putting the amuse-bouche as a plate on your menu is very customer unfriendly. The wine was fine however and service was good although for me a bit too present.
Our conclusion : way to much money for what you get.
Try 'Villa Aurora' in Soiano del Lago instead, with a Bib Gourmand : very good, robust Italian food, very nice wines, aperitif, digestif (at 50 euro pp)
