“Impressive Campsite”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

We booked our Riviera Holiday using our Tesco Club Card Points and we were not disappointed.
We arrived at Eden and waited for the Al Fresco team to start their shift waiting in the pool.
The campsite is very clean and our mobile home, even though it was the cheapest was clean and comfortable.
With an extra small fee we had unlimited use of the air conditioning in the mobile home, and I was pleased we paid for it as it was very hot.
The pool is decent size and clean and there is a very well stocked bazaar with reasonable prized groceries.
The site was very quite at night, we went the second week in June, and therefore it might get noisier in full season.
We will definitely go again.
The Alfresco staff was very friendly, onboard and always available.
Will definitely recommend it.
If you do go, do not miss to visit Le Sirene on the Garda side of the lake, you have to pay for the entrance but it is a beautiful beach within a park with immaculate services.
Sirmione, a lovely medieval borgo and if you do not mind to travel a bit, visit Riviera Del Garda in the north.

I stayed here with my boyfriend and his parents for a week in Sept. This was the first time any of us had camped at a park in Europe, and we're so glad we did! We booked 2 Bellini caravans through Thomson for an excellent price in their last minute sale, and we weren't disappointed. There were several problems with our booking before we arrived due to poor customer service in the Thomson call centre, but the Thomson reps rectified everything when we arrived and were SO friendly and helpful!
The park is really big, and is on quite a steep hill but most of the Thomson caravans are on the lower part of the site which isn't as hilly and steep and are closer to the restaurant, shop and lake.
The site has 2 pools, we only used the one in the lower part of the site because it was closer to our caravan. There are plenty of sun loungers and the whole area is very clean. There was a pool side bar which was closed the whole time we were there because we traveled in low season, but the site's (very well-priced) restaurant is just beside the pool.
We ate in the restaurant almost every night because it was so cheap and the food was so good! We were astonished at how cheap the wine/beer etc was too! The staff in the restaurant were very friendly too and all spoke perfect English.

The site is in the perfect place for exploring the rest of Lake Garda. We were only there for a week and managed to see the North, South, East and West of the lake as well as Verona and Venice!
I would imagine a car would be essential to staying here, as it is't really in walking distance of anything other than the camp's own jetty at the lake and a couple of hotels/restaurants 2 minutes down the road.

There is a shop on-site which sells fresh bread/milk/cheese and other essentials, but because we traveled close to the end of the season the shop wasn't as well stocked as we imagine it usually is! The owner of the shop seems to choose her own opening times too, even though it is meant to open in the morning and take a siesta in the afternoon. Sometimes the shop didn't reopen until near dinner time. This wasn't a problem for us though because we had our car and there are supermarkets close by in Salo!

The only fault with our stay was a restaurant close by which played very (awful) loud music at the weekends. Our first night (a Saturday) there the music started about dinner time and carried on until 4.30am. This isn't the fault of the camp, but you might want to consider somewhere else if you're not a heavy sleeper! Thankfully the music wasn't on every night, and may well have been a one-off for special parties or something.

We will definitely stay here again and we'll be recommending it to all our friends! Thank you Thomson reps for being so lovely :)

Recently returned from a two week stay at Eden with Canvas Holidays. The view from the door of our tent was spectacular and well worth the extra we paid for it. The site is very, very steep and driving over the alps is easier! - beware the smell of burning clutch! Canvas reception is right at the top of the site too which was initially tricky to find. The site is great and all of the staff were polite and helpfull. If you smile and attempt just a little Italian, it will get you a long way. The pizzas from the takeaway were cooked fresh to order and so much better than we have had anywhere else. Very good value too, as are the restaurant prices. Access to the lake was a real bonus and our children spent hours jumping from the pier into crystal clear, warm water. The two pools on site are good too, swimming hats are compulsory, but these are available on site very cheaply. Pleasant to stroll down to Portese where there is a small marina and several restaurants, with ice cream at €1.20! The only downside was that there is no open space on the site for our footie mad boys to play, although the site run a weekly match on the tennis court at €2 each. Also, there is no loo roll in the communal toilets. Overall though, a great site with lots to do in a stunning location. One last tip, if you are planning a trip to Gardaland, go at 6pm, it's half price, the queues are much shorter and the temperature is more bearable, it's open till 11pm so we got to go on all of the big rides and more!

Stayed here for 12 nights with canvas holidays, we didn't have a view from our caravan but that did not matter as views all over site. Lovely quiet site and thankfully no entertainment on an evening. The restaurant is good value for money with lovely views over the lakes, restaurant grand fausto in Portese also worth a trip and had free wifi for our kids. On site shop not bad but pricey compared to supermarket in Salo. We drove down after taking ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam with an overnight stop near Mulhouse, surprisingly easy drive, no traffic jams or road works. We bought our vignette for Switzerland at the border, there was no queue and it only took a few minutes. You really need a car in this area as the ferries are a lovely way to se the lake but expensive for a family of 4 if you are doing a lot of exploring (70 euros to get to sirmione on ferry). We also drove to Malchesnie and went up the cable car, I would suggest you get up early if doing this, takes 1.30 hours to drive (stunning scenery). We got on cable car by 9.30 and stood in no queues, it was also more peaceful on the mountain before the crowds arrived. Lots to do in the area with kids, we went to movieland and caneva world, movie world was great, water park was just too busy (very hot day). Our kids aged 15 and 10 were happy being down by the lake and our 10 year od spent most of his time snorkelling. Lake shoes are a must, as is a pump for inflatables. If you want beautiful scenery and a peaceful campsite then Eden is the place to go

My first review on here and Have nothing but praise for this site and location, my family and I had a wonderful 2 weeks here and would come back again! Make sure if you hire a car that it is powerful enough to get up the steep inclines at the site, we had to leave ours in private car park at the bottom!
Only downside and a bad judgement call on our side was the visiting "Henna" Tattoo artist, this artist does not use Henna it is "Black Henna" and contains a chemical used in hair dye called PPD, two of our children received these so called Henna Tattoos and since returning home have developed very bad welts/rashes which are sore and itchy and have had to visit the doctor to receive treatment.

Room Tip: We recommend paying a little extra for a view, as the view of Lake Garda is priceless

We stayed with eurocamp in the most basic caravan. It was well equipped and spotless. We were lucky to have one with a lake view and the outside decking was lovely to sit on with a glass of wine.We would have liked air conditioning but none was available when we booked but I would say it was essential if staying during July and August. It was 35'C,every day! We were there 19th - 26th July. the camp facilities were great, the top swimming pool was excellent for our children age 3 and 6 and the waterslides were extremely popular with them. The bottom pool was nice too and the small pool there would suit smaller children. The campsite is built on a hill so you have to be reasonably fit to reach the top.We dinned at the camp restaurant one night and it was very good, they accommodated 14 of us on a busy Saturday night. The shop was more than adequate for us. All the staff we met on the campsite were friendly and helpful. The local area is great too we went to Salo a couple of times the music festival on a Thursday night is worth going to. We also went to Gardaland, Venice and Sirmione. Boat trips are easy to do and the beach at San Felice del Benaco is nice and you can hire pedalos, paddle boards and kayaks. a great holiday and we would definately return!

Room Tip: Ask for lake view and air conditioning if staying July/ August.

Visited as a family in July and definitely enjoyed the experience. The kids loved the pool & watersides and also swimming in the lake (there is a small pier to jump off at the bottom of the campsite). We also dined in the bar which had nice food and friendly service. The carvans are basic as expected (we stayed with eurocamp) and have all the essentials. the holiday reps were lovely and helpful & the surrounding area was beautiful. Would definitely come back!
