“Loved hotel, booked for this year .”
Reviewed 6 April 2013

Stayed last year in June for two nights but have booked to stay for three this June . We stay for ten nights staying in four hotels around Lake Garda we returning to all our hotels from last year as all were fantastic but Villa Selene is the one we are looking forward to the most . The views are out of this world literally , one evening we had a storm which we watched travel down the lake from Riva, being so high we really were in the eye of the storm ! As not driving we caught the local bus up which stopped at top of the lane, an experience not forgotten easily, not driving gives you the opportunity to see everything .(doesn't run on Sundays ) The hotel, breakfast and gardens (sun loungers are free) are wonderful and if you want to relax, read a book and bike/walk to dinner this is the place, had a blast on the hotel bikes especially after a couple of glasses of wine !

Room Tip: Front of hotel above terrace

Hi,

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, and we loved every minute there. First of all the host is amazing - a very nice woman that runs this place. Gave us all the information about the area including coupons and discounts. Recommanded very good restaurants in town and more.

There are bike you can use for free, which is very nice. We took them for a couple of hours and went on a trip she told us to, using a map she draw on for us.

The breakfast is very diversified, and you can choose what kind on egg you want her to prepare for you. You can have launch until 12, which is very unique in Italy. The road to the place and the view from there is amazing. highly recommanded!

You will always want to go back to Selene. Our first time, the road up to the mountains scared me, but there is another, not so scary way down to the lake. But after a while we used both.
The hotel owner is just a wonderful lady. She is always there if you want help.

Room Tip: All rooms are quite, but the best rooms are with the view over the lake.

We have recently returned from a week staying at this delightful Hotel in Pregasio. It is situated in a stunning location. This was not our first trip to Lake Garda, we had been the previous three years but to Sirmione. So this was our first experience of Tremosine. As others have said the hotel is delightful, very clean and quiet, and Silene the owner is wonderful, extremely helpful. Breakfast, which is very good, is served on the terrace overlooking the lake.

Pregasio is a village and has a restaurant, Ristorante San Marco, next to the church, which does excellent and whloesome food. Be warned; they don't do Pizza! There is also a bar a little further along the main street which sells snacks. There is also a very well stocked shop too. Pieve is three km away and boasts more amenities and restaurants. We didn't have a car but that wasn't really a problem as Pieve is walkable. There is a public swimming pool there as well as tennis courts. There is a bus service from Pregasio which goes to Limone. One thing about buses; it is cheaper to buy tickets from a Tabach or tourist information office than from the bus driver.

We shall deffinitely be going there again. Oh, the weather was fantastic.

Room Tip: All rooms have a view the ones at the front over looking Lake Garda. Ours was at the back of the hot...

This was our second visit, it is a small, very quiet and delightful hotel, the service from the friendly lady owner is impecable. everywhere is spotless. This time we booked direct with the owner and we had the junior suite overlooking the lake.
There is no restaurant, but there are others nearby, The pizza cafe the village centre is very good and cheap! with excellent house wine. I would say that you definately need a car. It was said that the roads around the hotel are not for the faint hearted. We just found them to be exciting, a great adventure.
If you are a foody then there are great places to eat within a about 10km
II would recommend driving down, forget the plane, go through France and Switzerland over the mountians keep having a stop for the veiws, coffee and apple cake
I would say that for couples with transport this has to be one of the most perfect places to stay. It is certainly one our favourate places.

Just returned from a tour of northern Italy and Lake Garda was definitely one of the highlights. Our room was basic but clean and had a lovely little balcony which had wonderful views over the lake.

The lady who I assume is the owner was very helpful, she didn't speak much English (which shouldn't be a surprise in Italy!), but that gave us a chance to practice our Italian.

Breakfast on the balcony was a real highlight.

It is a trek to climb the steep roads up there, but we were very glad we had vertured up into the hillside as the areas closer to the lakeside were far more commercial.

A couple of points to note though;

There is a small building site next to the hotel, which didn't disturb us as we were there at the weekend, but I think you should be aware of it before you go.

Also you had to pay extra for the air/con, 6 Euros which I objected to and ours did not make any difference, but in the end they didn't charge us, so I can't complain.

Overall a super start to our holiday

Recommendations for restaurants, there are two if you turn right out of the drive and right again at the roundabout past the '007 Quantum of Solace banner' . Its the strecth of road where the latest james bond movie was filmed - another reason to take it easy on those roads, as I'm sure you read a few cars ended up in the lake! Follow that road down into the caves and there is very inexpensive pizzeria on your right with a car park on the opposite side of the road. Further down that road there is yellow seafood restaurant that did a lovely seafood rissotto and meat platter, we were stuffed!

Enjoy!

No surprises here, was just what I thought would fit into our itinerary for a perfect balance. We were looking for the small town feel with a twist. The twist here was that the hotel sets atop a sheer cliff 900 feet or so above Lake Garda, very much country and within a short driving distance of other towns and attractions. We were warmly greeted by the manager and was treated just as warm through out our 3 night stay. Actually she worked very hard for us helping with our future plans etc. on the internet. Because we were a party of three our room wasn't as beautiful as all the others that we could see but was perfectly adequate. Because it was October the resturant was closed however breakfast was served daily and was without a doutb the best of our entire 30 day adventure! Easy access to the bus which seems to take you to several towns including Limone and Riva De Garda, both of which are port towns and the boats will take you every where arould the lake. If country isn't your thing you should look elsewhere but for us it fit just right! Whether standing at the bar having a glass of wine or setting out on the patio under the grape arbour or setting on our balcony we were happy! Parking was great and only a very few stairs
