“Typical food of the area”

Courteous owner. Good quality food and excellent wine. Water is free here. It is a pity not all the food was served together.

“Quiet Place With Good Food”
Reviewed 12 July 2013

What started out to be a little strange turned into a fantastic meal. We got up to Brunate later in the evening and were looking for a good meal. Our hotel recommended this restaurant and had a voucher for free drinks. When we walked over to the restaurant, the place was dark and appeared to be closed up, though the hours on the menu sign indicated they were open. We walked around the other side of the building and saw two men chatting inside, so we walked toward the windows. Apparently, the restaurant had a quiet day. They were open, but did not have any customers at the time. We sat down and ordered some food. The restaurant specializes in polenta, which seems to be a specialty of the region. If you like polenta, there are a number of ways to order it. They menu also had a few other choices. Everything we ordered was delicious! Eventually, other customers came in. So, it seemed less strange. The server did not speak much English, and the owner spoke some English. But we managed OK.

“wow! fabulous Polenta!”
Reviewed 3 May 2013

I have only eaten Polenta on the rare occasion, but this was really great food. Not pretentious, just good quality home cooking. I had the veal strips and mushroom with cheese Polenta. Yum!
