Residence Domaso - Resort & SPA
Reviewed 22 December 2013

We stayed at Residence Domaso in May 2013. The owners are absolutely lovely. There is not a bad thing you could say about them. We had a day in the spa which was absolutely amazing, I'd definitely recommend it... so relaxing! It is a short walk to the lake and the nearby shops. In terms of Domaso itself, it's quite boring. I had read another review where somebody had said it was boring with nothing to do and I thought that they were being picky... but no, really, it's boring! Mind you, we did go in May and it was freezing, so we couldn't do the water sports or go swimming etc. It was hard to find places to go for food because there wasn't much to choose from. It was as though it was a ghost town, there were no other customers in any of the restaurants or anything. If you're looking for a secluded little town then this is definitely for you... we just got a bit bored.

If you do go to Domaso, then definitely consider staying here... the owners are great and they genuinely care about you. We even got a bottle of wine when we left for our honeymoon. They had a bunch of dvds you could borrow for night time, bikes to ride around the town, swimming pool etc.

The apartment was fantastic; clean, well-furnished and with free wi-fi and only a few minutes walk from the supermarkets, shops and restaurants. The Garavaglia family who own and run the resort couldn't do enough for us, they were great with the kids and put one some lovely evening entertainment by the pool with wine and nibbles - brilliant.
We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Dolce house - very nice!

Very clean and functional, plenty of free car parking: just a five minute walk to Iperal Supermercato and the lake side strand. Good pool, clean and jacuzzi - owners very obliging. We had a welcome party with drinks and nibbles, and a wine tasting with nibbles. Waiting in the apartment was a welcome basket of past, olive oil and grissini. Very secure.

We stayed at Residence Domaso for 2 weeks in July. We had a wonderful time, and our 10-year-old daughter simply loved the place. Our apartment (Apartment 5) was nice, very modern, and extremely clean. It had everything we needed. The whole establishment was beautifully maintained. The host family did their very best to make our holiday perfect and enjoyable. Their hospitality and friendliness towards us and especially towards our daughter felt genuine and sincere.
Domaso is a great place to relax, but you won't find much shopping there. We can recommend you take the boat to Bellagio. A day-trip from Domaso is worthwhile.
We would definitely consider coming back! Residence Domaso is highly recommenable.

The apartment is quite nice and well equipped. We had one on a high floor and got a nice breeze, unfortunately there is no way to keep doors/windows open so everything banging around. A few door stops and hooks would make a big difference. The gym is fairly sad and if you fancy an early morning bike ride (they have some fere bikes) or use of gym, you can't, as you can't get access to either till 9am.

If you want to have your value for money, this is a place to go. The family is very nice and helpful. The flats are clean and functional, and pools and jacuzzi are very easily accessible. Going to the lake front is an easy 3 minute walk, and the walk by the lake is just wonderful. Do not miss to use the spa! :)

Apartment is a good size, clean, and the establishment is beautifully maintained, however there a a few things that detracted from the quality of our stay. There is a LOT of noise from the apartment above-chairs scraping, footsteps, people going to the toilet, toilet flushing and so on. The mattress is rock hard and the pillows lumpy. One of the owners has a new toy - a leaf blower that he uses for hours at a time every day and that woke us from siesta. There is not a lot of privacy with all the balconies facing inward over the pool and apartment courtyards. The family is very helpful and friendly however. The complex was not easy to find getting off the bus. Great holiday apartments for families but reconsider if you are a travelling couple. Domaso itself is lovely to walk around, explore and relax. Don't come here expecting shopping and nightlife.
