We were staying at the Grand Hotel Imperiale and this is one of two restaurants that belongs to the hotel. The other restaurant was nothing special. The Imperialino, however, was exceptional. I had different types of local lake fish for each course, each prepared in a unique way with an eye towards presentation. The smoked trout and perch were particularly noteworthy. The staff was very attentive and the prices were quite reasonable. Also the location is perfect: right on the bank of Lake Como. If it is breezy, however, don't sit outside on the terrace. The wind kept knocking things over and most of the guests moved indoors eventually. But this was one of the best meals during this particular trip.
