We stayed for an extended weekend with our little one (12 months) at this hotel. Pool terrace was nice but small, hotel overall ok. We selected this hotel since we were looking for a kid's friendly place near a wedding of friends of us, and for this purpose this ended up a good choice. Would we come back? Not sure, while hotel was fine, there is not much to do in Moltrasio, and we may select another town.

Whilst spending only two days on a tour at the hotel, we could not find fault with anything during our short stay. The hotel is very impressive in style, design and location, but Moltrasio is a very quite location. There is a local restaurant bar next door and another restaurant next door to the bar. Then that is it all other activity is accross the lake in Como, (20 mins in water taxi) You must sample Marco's home made cakes in the local bar next door to the hote!!!!!

Room Tip: Always request a room at high level

Rooms are very dated (old), bathrooms are nice, bed terrible uncomfortable . We stayed in a room with a very large balcony which was the highlight of the hotel. We ate breakfast on the balcony facing the lake. Service was average, but a good location. Next time we would spend a little more to be in a newer, updated hotel.

Had read mixed reviews for this hotel and went with an open mind, staying for one week as part of a group (Riviera Travel). Our first room (162) was very nicely furnished and decorated, with a modern en-suite. There was a large walk-in shower but no bath. Unfortunately this room proved to be immediately above the bar, where a pianist and occasional singer performed until almost midnight and also fronted onto the discharge/pick-up point for tour coaches. We appreciate that some tours inevitably have late arrival/early departure but this room is to be avoided if you want to sleep. The management was sympathetic to our request to change rooms after three sleepless nights and facilitated this while we were away on a trip. Our next room (216) was slightly larger but much older in terms of décor/fittings, the en-suite having small square white tiles, but at least there was a bath and mercifully the location was better. Whilst praising the management for sorting out this problem, I must criticise them severely for failing to control the drunken antics of a large group of young mixed US/British course delegates, which resulted in disturbance and complaints from many guests.
All of the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. The facilities were clean and pleasant - as a Riviera group we were allocated our own area in the restaurant, with a tour party menu. There was thus a limited choice for dinner, which wouldn't suit everyone, but the fare was otherwise perfectly acceptable. The a la carte menu looked much more tempting and there was a very good range available to everyone for breakfast. We spent very little time in the hotel bar, owing to the silly prices and many of our group gravitated to the restaurant/bar next door, to round off the evening. As a resort, Moltrasio has nothing there and nothing to do, but this hotel makes a reasonable base for day trips out.
