“Wonderful Holiday”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

we recently stayed at Holly tree cottage and had a wonderful relaxing week. The cottage is lovely.Very well equipped and comfortable. The best part is the garden. It is beautiful with different areas of interest including a pond, a wild flower garden and chickens. The sun shines onto the back of the house in the mornings- perfect for breakfast in the sun. In the evening it shines on the gazebo, perfect for an evening drink.
The surrounding area is lovely. The beaches of Waxham and Happisburgh are close by. The dog loved being in the sea, and we saw seals in the water.
The broads are easily accessible. Lots of good pubs and restaurants nearby. Our favourite was the Greyhound at Hickling which served perfect crab thermidore.
The cottage owners Cynthia and Mike and Lola the labrador were very welcoming and not at all intrusive. We are looking forward to going back again next year. There is so much left to see in Norfolk. We thoroughly recommend it.

“A quiet cosy comfortable cottage”
Reviewed 8 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

A beautiful location for a holiday in the Norfolk Broads, there is plenty to see and do around the area, walking, cycling, lots of beautiful clean beaches near by and of course boat hire to cruise the stunning Norfolk Broads, it is also close to the city of Norwich and the Cathedral there is definitely worth a look. The cottage is situated in a little village and is very comfortable and cosy with a great wood burner a very comfortable bed and a lovely enclosed garden. The owners Cynthia and MIke are lovely! very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed every minute of it and would certainly recommend staying here.

“Peaceful location, perfect to explore & excellent hosts...”
Reviewed 21 June 2012 for a stay in May 2012

Recently returned from an excellent stay with Cynthia and Mike in the small but peaceful village of Catfield. The cottage matches its description perfectly, and is very well equipped for families young and old. Particular welcome features are the extensive DVD and book collection (although in truth we didn't need them), the entertainment system (PVR recorder!!! Yay!!!) and the private (behind gates) car parking space, which is both rare and a godsend. The garden is lovely, the hosts are entirely welcoming, and the communication (well) before our arrival was both excellent and warm from day 1.

It is a perfect location for exploring the broads, mills, Norwich, Wroxham and smaller charming towns like Stalham, not to mention the choice of beaches and dunes just to the east (we made it to Horsey Gap, Waxham, Winterton, Sea Palling and Great Yarmouth...each with something different to offer). So happy to have spotted seals and barn owls! Definitely an area, hosts and a cottage to recommend.
