I went there earlier this year with my girlfriend, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the service. The manager spoke French, English and Spanish. The room was clean, the food good and what about the beach and the sunset. Just wow! If you are like me and you don't like crowded all included place. This is the spot.

Very clean and not expensive. Rooms all recently refurbished. Excellent service. Super place if you realy want to relax away from the crouded area. Good restaurants on site or close by on the beach.
Wifi works very well. Manager speaks French, english and spanish. Very Usefull.

10 $ away from Downtown Acapulco by Taxi or .75 cents by bus.

If you want a peace of paradise on the beah at low cost, This is the place.

Room Tip: If you like to sleep in cool area, ask for a room with airconditioning

We stayed at the evasion hotel for 3 nights. It is in dire need of remodeling. The price is probably about double of what it should be. Even the hangers in the closet were so rusty they were not fit to hang cloths on. The owner and manager are nice but perhaps the economy of Acapulco is so bad that not many stay there and they are not able to keep the place up. Whatever the problem is I would not recommend it or stay there again.

This hotel was the worst I've ever been to. They promised 3 beds and only offered 2. The price they made us pay was bigger than the one published on the list. The bathroom does not even have a curtain. There was not water available at night and during day there is not warm water. There is no shampoo or lotion available. The rooms that do not have air condition (most of them) are impossible to stay in. The price for 1 night ($74.00) US is way too high for this kind of hotel. The pool was not clean.
The beaches are beautiful, but this hotel is really bad.

My boyfriend and I spent 4 days at the Evasion Hotel in February of 2003 and it was lovely. It was built out of cinderblocks and we paid $30/night (we negotiated this rate w/the French owner) and really would like to return. The hotel is simply decorated but the sheets were cotton and the towels were fluffy and it was very clean. It was very mellow, we swam in the lagoon, ate at a couple of places at La Barra and walked along the beach. The crepes for breakfast were super and the beer was cheap. We both felt like this hotel was an excellent value for the money.

Just returned from a wedding at the Evasion Hotel in Pie de la Cuesta. We flew in on Friday, and spent two nights. We had been told that it was a small, unpretentious property owned by a French Canadian lady, but that it was comfortable and well run.

I will try to be as even handed as possible, since there are some positives and many negatives.

First of all, the rooms, of which there are 12. 3 of which are air-conditioned. The design is typical of small hotels in Mexico, where the owner decides that paying for an architect is a waste of money. The one we got was on the third floor, and was literally an oven. We had to cart one of the beds out onto the balcony to try and get some sleep. The bathroom was a disaster, with barely a warm trickle of water flowing from the shower. There is no shower stall as such, not even a curtain, so what little water does fall ends up all over the floor. We looked at several other rooms, and all were just as bad. The concept of cross ventilation never entered into the design equation, so without A/C you can imagine how uncomfortable they are.
The rate ($ 50 US a night) is exorbitant for what you receive.

The pool at the hotel is small and rudimentary, and none too clean. The grounds are generally well kept. The restaurant, though understaffed, produced some remarkably good meals, and the beers were cold and reasonably priced ($ 1.50).

The beach is undeniably beautiful, although you can't swim. The surroundings are in total decadence, having been built in the '60's and '70's, once again the majority without the aid of architects, and most of the buildings are showing advanced cases of decay.

The French manager (Diana) runs around and tries to do a good job. They did set up the palapa very nicely for the wedding, and all in all did a decent job.

To summarize, when you leave a place and feel you've been ripped off, you probably have. I do not plan to return to Evasion any time soon.
