My family and I stayed here twice: two nights in January 2007, and (on the strength of that) again for three nights in January 2013. Lodging was fairly basic, but comfortable enough. Each room has its own bathroom. The last visit, it was a bit rougher-looking than I remembered from 2007 - but it had been a six-year gap. During this time, the original owner (Dean) had died. I gather his brother had taken over. If so, I never met him. Day to day things were taken care of by Doris and one or two other staff, who were a friendly lot.
We did have problems with a blocked toilet during our latest visit. They did their best, but it was still unresolved at the time of our departure. On our last morning, after we checked out, they very kindly let us leave all our stuff in the room, which was nice because the boat back to Plaridel didn't depart until late at night.
I guess I'd stay here again if we came back to Larena. It was a useful home base for all the things we did while on Siquijor.More
